A diversity of technical advances in the field of network and systems virtualization have made it possible to consolidate and manage resources in an unprecedented scale. These advances have started to come out of the data centers, spreading towards the network service provider (NSP) and telecommunications operator infrastructure foundations, from the core to the edge networks, the access network, and the customer premises LAN (local area network). In this context, the residential gateway (RGW) constitutes an ideal candidate for virtualization, as it stands between the home LAN and the access network, imposing a considerable cost for the NSP while constituting a single point of failure for all the services offered to residential customers. This chapter presents the rationale for the virtual RGW (vRGW) concept, providing an overview of past and current implementation proposals and discussing how recent technological developments in key areas such as networking and virtualization have given a competitive edge to a RGW virtualization scenario, when compared with traditional deployments.

The computer network service provider must provide a good network service. Service quality is the most important factor and must always be maintained properly. The quality of service can change depending on the number and characteristics of service users. This study optimizes the performance of existing computer networks, namely ordinary LAN networks with the application of VLANs. It is very important because the number of network users is increasing and will continue to increase, while the need for good service quality is very urgent. The results showed that VLANs can improve computer network performance from the system existing, namely LAN network.

Situation assessment is a critical skill amongst electricity distribution controllers but can be difficult to assess in practice. In the present research, we adapted a psychometric approach based on the principle that expert situation assessment engages cue-based associations from memory. Using consortium norming, we acquired performance data from 320 network control operators for five network control-related tasks that comprised the electricity network service provider edition of the EXPERT Intensive Skills Evaluation (EXPERTise 2.0) software. Operators were distributed across 11 Distributed Network Service Providers (DNSP), with data collected over three phases. Data were examined across the three phases of data collection and suggest that DNSPs can monitor the situation assessment of network controllers at an individual and at an organisational level, affording the opportunity to identify changes in performance and implement remedial strategies as appropriate.

This study examines the effect of service quality on customer choice. Specifically, it investigated the relationship between service quality dimensions and customer choice, examining the effect of service quality dimensions on customer choice and the service quality dimension most preferred by customers. The quantitative research approach was used with a sample of 250 respondents using purposive and convenient sampling technique. Questionnaires were used to collect the data and analyzed using SPSS version 21. With regards to the correlation variables, it showed a strong positive relationship between service quality dimensions and customer choice of a mobile network service provider and the regression variables showed a significant effect between service quality and customer choice indicating that service quality is very important and influence customers’ choice in choosing a mobile network service provider. It was recommended that Mobile network service providers should continue to improve on the service quality dimensions (empathy, responsiveness, reliability assurance, and tangibility). Since customers look out for these dimensions when choosing a mobile network service provider.

PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia, Tbk (PT Telkom) as the National Flag Carrier of telecommunications in Indonesia which has a Full Network Service Provider license serving almost all digital services for all licensed operators in Indonesia. One of the operators served by PT Telkom is Telkomsel. Telkomsel is the largest operator in Indonesia. In providing its best services to Telkomsel, Telkom Indonesia has a number of SoW (Scope of Work) that is used to share services provided to operators who are customers of licensed operator products, namely modernization: sites built using optical fiber but previously were on air using Telkom radios and rollout: sites built using fiber optics in areas where there is no service at all. In Sumatra, Telkom Regional I is tasked with serving Telkomsel in 3 areas, namely Telkomsel in the Sumbagut area (North Sumatra), Sumbagteng (Central Sumatra) and Sumbagsel (South Sumatra). In 2018 the construction of Telkomsel's BTS site has reached 9,566 Site ID Node-b which has reached 75% of the inner city of Sumatra. This type of research is a descriptive study by evaluating the factors that become obstacles in achieving Telkom Serviced Licensed Operator product targets in Telkom Regional I Sumatra and formulating strategies that can be done in increasing the achievement of the Serviced Licensed Operator product targets in Telkom Regional I Sumatra. To obtain strategies, various analyzes are carried out such as internal environmental analysis such as management, marketing, finance, production and operations, human resources, and external environmental factors such as the macro and industrial environment. In analyzing these factors, IFE (Internal Factor Evaluation) and EFE (External Factor Evaluation) score measurements, IE (Internal External) analysis and SWOT (Strength, Weakness, Opportunity, Thread) analysis are used

Abstract. One of the advances in information technology that now has changed the outlook and human life, business process and business strategy of an institution is the internet. The internet is a very large networks that connected to computers and serves throughout the world in one centralized network. With the internet we can access data and information anytime and anywhere.    As one provider of high-speed data communications services and the pioneer of the internet network service provider in Indonesia that provides integrated services, as well as one of the pioneer development of internet services that provide extensive services in the building and apply it throughout Indonesia. Indosat ready to seize opportunities for sustainable growth of business spectrum are still sprawling Indonesia.    Therefore, Indosat continues to focus on the development of increased efforts to provide the best service for customers of Indosat. Indosat will continue to develop and expand network coverage and a larger investment that the company will achieve excellence in the field of integrated telecommunications services.    Ranking by region of the IP Providers can be seen by grouping IP Providers, and management over IP Providers prefer to choose providers based on where it orginates as an example for the region of the U.S if it will be preferred providers that come from U.S. providers. With the commencement of the internet network optimization start early in 2008 with the selection of the appropriate IP Upstream Provider criteria, it is up to date according to data obtained from Indosat, seen any significant changes to the cost of purchasing capacity of the IP Upstream.    Based on the data obtained that until Q3 or September 2008, the number of IP Upstream Providers that previously there were 20 to 10 IP Upstream Provider, IP Transit Price total decrease of 11% to the price of IP Transit Price / Mbps there is a decrease of 78%, while from the capacity bandwith an increase of 301% capacity from 2008.
