A key ingredient in the world of cloud computing is a database that can be used by a great number of users. Distributed storage mechanisms become the de-facto method for data storage used by companies for the new generation of web applications. In the world of data storage, NoSQL (usually interpreted as "not only SQL" by developers) database is a growing trend. It is said that NoSQL alternates with the most widely used relational databases for the data storage, but, as the name implies, it does not fully replace the SQL. In this paper we will discuss about SQL and NoSQL databases, comparison of traditional SQL with NoSQL databases for Big Data analytics, NoSQL data models, types of NoSQL data stores, characteristics and features of each data store, advantages and disadvantages of NoSQL and RDBMS.

The world is increasingly driven by huge amounts of data. Big data refers to data sets that are so large or complex that traditional data processing application software are inadequate to deal with them. Healthcare analytics is a prominent area of big data analytics. It has led to significant reduction in morbidity and mortality associated with a disease. In order to harness full potential of big data, various tools like Apache Sentry, BigQuery, NoSQL databases, Hadoop, JethroData, etc. are available for its processing. However, with such enormous amounts of information comes the complexity of data management, other big data challenges occur during data capture, storage, analysis, search, transfer, information privacy, visualization, querying, and update. The chapter focuses on understanding the meaning and concept of big data, analytics of big data, its role in healthcare, various application areas, trends and tools used to process big data along with open problem challenges.

The world generated 52 times the amount of data in 2010 and 76 times the number of information sources in 2022. The ability to use this data creates enormous opportunities, and in order to make these opportunities a reality, people must use data to solve problems. Unfortunately, in the midst of a global pandemic, when people all over the world seek reliable, trustworthy information about COVID-19 (Coronavirus). Tableau plays a key role in this scenario because it is an extremely powerful tool for quickly visualizing large amounts of data. It has a simple drag-and-drop interface. Beautiful infographics are simple to create and take little time. Tableau works with a wide variety of data sources. COVID-19 (Coronavirus)analytics with Tableau will allow you to create dashboards that will assist you. Tableau is a tool that deals with big data analytics and generates output in a visualization technique, making it more understandable and presentable. Data blending, real-time reporting, and data collaboration are one of its features. Ultimately, this paper provides a clear picture of the growing COVID19 (Coronavirus) data and the tools that can assist more effectively, accurately, and efficiently. The implications of the digitization process among a bevy of trends are definitely many and memorable. One is the abnormal growth in data generation, gathering, and storage due to a steady increase in the number of data sources, structures, scopes, sizes, and speeds. In this chapter, the author shows some of the impactful developments brewing in the IT space, how the tremendous amount of data getting produced and processed all over the world impacts the IT and business domains, how next-generation IT infrastructures are accordingly getting refactored, remedied, and readied for the impending big data-induced challenges, how likely the move of the big data analytics discipline towards fulfilling the digital universe requirements of extracting and extrapolating actionable insights for the knowledge-parched is, and finally, the establishment and sustenance of the dreamt smarter planet.

This article describes how the metrics that are used to gauge acceptable versus inadequate care have spurred debates among health care administrators and scholars. Specifically, they argue that the use of readmissions as a quality-of-care metric may reduce patients' safety. Consequently, the new well-intended policies may prove ineffective, or even worse, yield disappointing results. While the discussions over the advantages and disadvantages of the new policies are based more on conjectures rather than on evidence, analytics provides a vehicle to measure the effectiveness of such overarching strategies. In this effort, the authors analyze large volumes of hospital encounters data before and after the implementation of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA) to show how overlooking some aspects of a problem may lead to unexpected outcomes. The authors conclude that the feedback provided by big data analytics can be used by the government and organization policymakers to obtain a better understanding of loopholes and to propose more effective policies in prospective endeavors.

In this response to Guzzo, Fink, King, Tonidandel, and Landis (2015), we suggest industrial–organizational (I-O) psychologists join business analysts, data scientists, statisticians, mathematicians, and economists in creating the vanguard of expertise as we acclimate to the reality of analytics in the world of big data. We enthusiastically accept their invitation to share our perspective that extends the discussion in three key areas of the focal article—that is, big data sources, logistic and analytic challenges, and data privacy and informed consent on a global scale. In the subsequent sections, we share our thoughts on these critical elements for advancing I-O psychology's role in leveraging and adding value from big data.

Big data is being generating in a wide variety of formats at an exponential rate. Big data analytics deals with processing and analyzing voluminous data to provide useful insight for guided decision making. The traditional data storage and management tools are not well-equipped to handle big data and its application. Apache Hadoop is a popular open-source platform that supports storage and processing of extremely large datasets. For the purposes of big data analytics, Hadoop ecosystem provides a variety of tools. However, there is a need to select a tool that is best suited for a specific requirement of big data analytics. The tools have their own advantages and drawbacks over each other. Some of them have overlapping business use cases however they differ in critical functional areas. So, there is a need to consider the trade-offs between usability and suitability while selecting a tool from Hadoop ecosystem. This paper identifies the requirements for Big Data Analytics (BDA) and maps tools of the Hadoop framework that are best suited for them. For this, we have categorized Hadoop tools according to their functionality and usage. Different Hadoop tools are discussed from the users’ perspective along with their pros and cons, if any. Also, for each identified category, comparison of Hadoop tools based on important parameters is presented. The tools have been thoroughly studied and analyzed based on their suitability for the different requirements of big data analytics. A mapping of big data analytics requirements to the Hadoop tools has been established for use by the data analysts and predictive modelers.

ABSTRACT With the total quantity of data doubling every two years, the low price of computing and data storage, make Big Data analytics (BDA) adoption desirable for companies, as a tool to get competitive advantage. Given the availability of free software, why have some companies failed to adopt these techniques? To answer this question, we extend the unified theory of technology adoption and use of technology model (UTAUT) adapted for the BDA context, adding two variables: resistance to use and perceived risk. We used the level of implementation of these techniques to divide companies into users and non-users of BDA. The structural models were evaluated by partial least squares (PLS). The results show the importance of good infrastructure exceeds the difficulties companies face in implementing it. While companies planning to use Big Data expect strong results, current users are more skeptical about its performance.
