Introduction: Factors such as teachers’ appropriate support and social interactions have an impact on the academic performance of children with cleft lip and/or palate (CL/P). This study was designed to investigate the perceptions of the teachers and the general public about the academic and cognitive performance of individuals with CL/P. Methods: This study was included 360 (male/female = 102/258) teachers and 640 (male/female = 259/381) participants that represent the general public. Anonymized web-based and paper-and-pencil self-administered questionnaire that included multiple-choice and yes/no questions were administered. Within-group differences and intergroup differences were analyzed in terms of academic and cognitive performance. Results: Most of the teachers and the general public indicated that the academic and cognitive performance of individuals with CL/P is the same as their unaffected peers. A significantly higher proportion of the teachers indicated that the academic performance of children with CL/P is the same as their unaffected peers than the general public. Conclusion: Considering that the general public’s attitudes and appropriate teacher support are crucial to prevent adverse impacts on the lives of individuals with CL/P, it is important to support teachers with the appropriate information and to encourage the public to recognize that everybody with a facial difference should be treated as an individual rather than a disability.

The symptoms of depression are related to low academic achievement, suicidal ideation and cause emotional sufferings, fundamental impairments which can influence students' abilities to perform essential activities of daily living. This study conducted to examine the relationships between depression and not only academic performance but also family structure. This study used the Beck Depression Inventory-II to survey 1336 students from secondary and high schools in Hue province, Vietnam. The findings of our study showed that there were associations between levels of depression and academic performance. Students with good or excellent academic performance were more likely to increase depression than others. Besides, students who had divorced or separated parents were more likely to increase depression gradually than the others. In the treatment of this subject I shall confine myself to those schools only that require a grammar school diploma, or its equivalent, for admission, that have a four year’s course, and that are manual training or technical high schools as distinct from the “trade” school. I have confined my investigation, mainly, to public high schools, for with the institutions supported by the public the problem is more vital, and demands the attention of the public school teacher to a far greater extent than that of private institutions.

This study aims to discover the readiness of PJOK or sport teachers in the virtual learning in the era of covid-19 in public junior high schools of Pegandon, Kendal. This study uses qualitative method with descriptive approach. This approach is chosen by the writer because it describes the situation of particular events based on the facts that appear as it should be. The subjects of this study are 8 PJOK teachers in the public junior high school of Pegandon. This study uses two types of data, namely primary data and secondary data. The data collecting techniques used in this study are observation, questionnaire, and documentation techniques. The data obtained from the result of questionnaire is analyzed and examined its data validity using SPSS 22 program. The result of this study can be concluded that the level of teachers’ readiness in the virtual learning in covid-19 era in the public junior high school of Pegandon can be considered as ready in delivering the learning material virtually. It has average percentage of 75%. For teachers who are considered as not ready in delivering the learning material virtually have the percentage of 25% because there are only 2 teachers who are considered as not ready to deliver the learning material virtually. It is caused by the condition of the schools that are isolated, lack of signal, and other causes It can be concluded that the result of of this study is used as knowledge and application for PJOK teachers in the public junior high school in Pegandon regarding on how to provide the PJOK teaching material or learning material which still run properly and correctly in this era of covid-19 even it cannot be conducted in face-to-face method and must be conducted online. The readiness of PJOK teachers is important for the learning development of students in the application of virtual PJOK learning.

Background: Crookes tube is utilized in junior high and high schools in Japan to study the character of electrons and current, and not for radiological education. There is no official guideline or regulation for these radiation source to the public. Therefore, most teachers have no information about the leakage of X-rays from Crookes tube. The peak energy of X-rays is approximately 20 keV, and it is impossible to measure using conventional survey meters.Materials and Methods: Each leakage dose of low energy X-rays from 38 Crookes tube in the education field, such as junior and senior high schools in Japan, was explored by the teachers in the school using radio-photoluminescence (RPL) dosimeters. Before and after the measurements, the dosimeters were sent by postal mails. Results and Discussion: At the exploration in this study, it was estimated that the 70 μm dose equivalent, Hp(0.07) of X-rays from 31 Crookes tubes were smaller than 100 μSv in 10 minutes, at the distance of 1 m, where the Crookes tube was usually observed. However, the highest dose was estimated as 0.69 mSv by an equipment with the full power. Furthermore, one Crookes tube exhibited 0.62 mSv with minimum output power of the induction coil. This relatively large dose was reduced by the shorter distance of discharge electrodes of the induction coil. Conclusion: The leakage dose of low energy X-rays from 38 Crookes tube was explored using RPL dosimeters. It was estimated that the Hp(0.07) of X-rays from 31 Crookes tubes were smaller than 100 μSv in 10 minutes at the distance of 1 m, while some equipment radiated a higher dose. With this study, the provisional guideline for the safety operation of Crookes tube is established.

This research aims (1) to indentify the level of teaching skill and working performance of Social Science (IPS) teachers at the Public Junior High Schools in the Regency of Hulu Sungai Utara, (2) to indentify the level of working motivation and working performance of IPS teachers at the Public Junior High Schools in the Regency of Hulu Sungai Utara, he method used in this research was descriptive quantitative method. The sample of this research was taken by using random sampling. The result of the research shows that (1) based on the respondents’ answers about teaching skill, approximately 64.45% of the respondents strongly agreed, while 31.10% of respondents agreed, 3.46% of respondents disagreed and 0.99% of respondents strongly disagreed. (2) based on the respondents’ answers about motivation, approximately 53.59% of respondents strongly agreed, while 41.62% of respondents agreed, 3.03% of respondents disagreed and 1.77% of respondents strongly disagreed. (3) based on the respondents’ answers about working performance, approximately 68.04% of respondents strongly agreed, while 26.83% of respondents agreed, 3.64% of respondents disagreed and 1.48% of respondents strongly disagreed. Teaching skill had a strong correlation with working performance of IPS teachers which can be identified from the value of ry1 = 0.832 in the interval of 0.80 – 1.000 with very strong criteria. Working motivation had a strong correlation with working performance of IPS teachers which can be seen from the value of ry2 = 0.768 in the interval of 0.60 – 0.779 with strong criteria. There was a positive and significant correlation between teaching skill and motivation together with the working performance of IPS teachers. The result of double correlation testing shows that the correlation value (R) was 0.850 with p = 0.000. Those three factors are related to each other in supporting working performance. Key Words: Teaching Skill, Working Motivation and Working Performance.
