In order to place a product on the market that is completely safe for users, the manufacturer must go through certain steps: design, prototyping, execution and prototype validation through experimental methods, obtaining documents that allow to sell the product from certain public or private companies (for example homologation certificate) and series production. One of the most important steps is the validation tests of the prototype because it will depend on them that the prototype corresponds to the design requirements.

The work deals with the technology of metal machining with a focus on the technology of broaching the internal shaped surfaces. The design of the drawing tools is a tool with several cutting edges, whereby the final shape of the inner shaped surface is made for one rectilinear movement of the tool. The cost of broaching tools is higher. For these reasons, the broaching technology is suitable for series production. One part of the paper covers the research of the achieved roughness of the internal grooves when changing the cutting environment, an emulsion was used instead of oil. The second part involves the use of statistical methods in the technology of broaching internal contoured surfaces. The research is focused on the machine capability. The results of measuring the accuracy of the tolerated dimension of the inner holes after broaching are used as input values to this statistic.

The aim of this paper is to present a model of energy efficient scheduling for series production systems during operation, including setup and shutdown activities. The flow shop system together with setup, shutdown times and energy consumption are considered. Production tasks enter the system with exponentially distributed interarrival times and are carried out according to the times assumed as predefined. Tasks arriving from one waiting queue are handled in the order set by the Multi Objective Immune Algorithm. Tasks are stored in a finite-capacity buffer if machines are busy, or setup activities are being performed. Whenever a production system is idle, machines are stopped according to shutdown times in order to save energy. A machine requires setup time before executing the first batch of jobs after the idle time. Scientists agree that turning off an idle machine is a common measure that is appropriate for all types of workshops, but usually requires more steps, such as setup and shutdown. Literature analysis shows that there is a research gap regarding multi-objective algorithms, as minimizing energy consumption is not the only factor affecting the total manufacturing cost—there are other factors, such as late delivery cost or early delivery cost with additional storage cost, which make the optimization of the total cost of the production process more complicated. Another goal is to develop previous scheduling algorithms and research framework for energy efficient scheduling. The impact of the input data on the production system performance and energy consumption for series production is investigated in serial, parallel or serial–parallel flows. Parallel flow of upcoming tasks achieves minimum values of makespan criterion. Serial and serial–parallel flows of arriving tasks ensure minimum cost of energy consumption. Parallel flow of arriving tasks ensures minimum values of the costs of tardiness or premature execution. Parallel flow or serial–parallel flow of incoming tasks allows one to implement schedules with tasks that are not delayed.

Abstract In order to solve the problem of low accommodation rate of renewable energy in a single region, considering the output characteristics of wind power and photovoltaic, grid constraints and cross regional power exchange, an optimization model of renewable energy accommodation capacity in a cross regional power grid year is established. This paper analyzes the factors restricting the accommodation capacity of renewable energy, and determines the access scale of renewable energy units according to the characteristics of different power grid scale, load and power supply structure. And then taking the annual maximum accommodation capacity of renewable energy as the goal, the time series production simulation model is established, considering the constraints such as regional load balancing, power transmission and output of the network cable, unit output, unit optimization power ramp rate and renewable energy output. To improve the renewable energy accommodation capacity, the three factors of power system interconnection level, power regulation performance and load characteristics can be considered.

Contemporary fiction TV series production in North America is characterized by the showrunner figure’s importance. This paper aims to study the concept of “showrunner” as executive-creative producer, analyze the competencies and responsibilities carried out by them during the production process of TV shows according to personal and professional factors, and examine their position within the current television market. For this purpose, a literature review on fiction TV series production and television authorship has been conducted. After this, adopting the focus of media production studies, a qualitative methodology based on in-depth personal interviews has been used, which was carried out with a selection of thirty-six significant executive producers and writers of contemporary American TV series. The findings indicate the relevance of this profile from a historical perspective, and particularly in recent years. Although there is a basic scheme of tasks developed by the showrunner in each phase of the production process, we find differences in this actuation due to personal –sex and nationality– and professional –format/gender and channel– characteristics in this industrial context. The showrunner develops an executive-creative dual profile to maintain the project’s coherence according to the established vision. Their influence over the TV series’ creative features contributes to reflection on television authorship and its attribution to this figure.

A paper shredder machine is a device that can shred documents such as paper and plastic into small strips or shreds. Private companies use it to shred confidential private documents or other sensitive documents into small strips or rubble. Thus, these machines help secure information effectively and waste to the environment. The article offers an alternative to the design and calculation of a shredder model. In addition, the options for optimizing the cutting blade and evaluating the strength of machine parts are also discussed to ensure the reasonable of the model. The analysis results are carried out with CATIA software. The results can serve as a prerequisite for an optimal model of the shredder that will go into series production in the future.

The maintenance of a production line is becoming more important with the development of demanding higher operational efficiency and safety in industrial system. However, a production line often operates under dynamically operational and environmental conditions and the production scheduling is also a very important factor for the maintenance of a production line. First, this paper proposes an integrated data-driven model that coordinates maintenance planning decisions with production scheduling decisions to solve the problem of scheduling and maintenance planning for a parallel-series production line. The degradation information is considered, and the total cost is to be minimized in the proposed model. Also, the total cost is related with production process and maintenance considering reliability of equipment. Then, in order to better describe the relationship between production and maintenance, the accumulative processing time of equipment is used as the input of its failure function. Also, an ability factor is developed to control its reduced level by adopting preventive maintenance. Finally, a case study is used to demonstrate the implementation and potential applications of the proposed model. The long-term wear test experiments are conducted at a research laboratory facility of Shanghai Pangyuan Machinery Co., Ltd. The result proves that the proposed method is feasible and efficient to solve the joint decision-making problem for a parallel-series production line with multivariety and small batch production. The proposed model in this paper is suitable for semiconductor manufacturing.
