Is true friendship possible on Facebook? A study from the psychological perspective of Laín Entralgo

The present work aims to analyse the meaning of the concept of friendship through the study of the work of the doctor and philosopher Pedro Laín Entralgo. The initial hypothesis of the study is that the concept of friendship has been used instrumentally by social media networks, and that these do not offer the conditions necessary to fully experience true friendship. To verify this, we focused on the study of the psychological dimensions of friendship proposed by the author, identifying a series of variables and conducting an analysis by means of a survey of university students who are active users of the platform. With these results the descriptive statistics were extracted and a nonparametric analysis was performed of the variables to determine if Facebook does in fact offer the conditions necessary for to experience true friendship in its psychological dimensions. As the results show, to experience true friendship on social networks is difficult, given that the nature of the interactions between users of the platform are not appropriate for this experience. In calling this different type of relationship friendship Facebook benefits from an attractive hook which leads users to generate contacts as a form of currency which benefits the business model of the social media platform. The concept of true friendship is altered, deformed and displaced in favour of other types of relationships.

Nonparametric, statistical analysis of the reliability of satellites and satellite subsystems

Надёжность долгое время признавалась главным качеством для систем космического аппарата. К сожалению, в литературе имеются лишь ограниченные данные об отказах на орбите и статистическом анализе надежности спутников. Для восполнения этого пробела был проведен непараметрический анализ надежности спутников для спутников на околоземной орбите. В этой работе я расширяю статистический анализ надежности спутников и исследую надежность подсистем космических аппаратов. Поскольку набор данных подвергнут цензуре, я широко использую оценщик Каплана-Мейера для расчета функций надежности и получаю доверительные интервалы для непараметрических результатов надежности для каждой подсистемы спутика. Reliability has long been recognized as the main quality for spacecraft systems. Unfortunately, there is only limited data in the literature on failures in orbit and statistical analysis of the reliability of satellites. To fill this gap, a nonparametric analysis of the reliability of satellites for satellites in near-Earth orbit was carried out. In this work, I expand the statistical analysis of the reliability of satellites and investigate the reliability of spacecraft subsystems. Since the data set is censored, I make extensive use of the Kaplan-Meyer estimator to calculate reliability functions and obtain confidence intervals for nonparametric reliability results for each spootik subsystem.

The Psychometric Analysis of the Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist Workload Perception Scale (CWPS): Final Phase

Background and PurposeIn two previous studies, the Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) Workload Perception Scale (CWPS) was developed. The purpose of this paper is to report the final psychometric validation of the CWPS.MethodsAn 11-item CWPS was tested in a population of CRNAs. Classical psychometrics were performed on the 11-item instrument piloted in a sample of 393 CRNAs.ResultsParametric and nonparametric analysis indicated 7 of 11 items were a good fit to measure perception of workload. Conclusions: A revised 7-item final CWPS was developed.

Analisis Penerimaan Yoghurt Sari Almond dengan Penambahan Kurma

The purpose of this study was to determine the acceptance of almond extract yoghurt mixed with dates. This research was divided into 3 stages. The first stage included preparing ingredients and equipment and preparing formulas for almond extract yoghurt with dates. The second stage involved adding dates into almond extract yoghurt. The third stage was the implementation of the hedonic test and the ranking test. The percentage of adding dates in the production of almond extract yoghurt was as much as 10, 20, and 30% of the weight of the almond extract, respectively. Thirty (30) untrained panelists participated in the hedonic and rating tests. The nonparametric analysis Kruskal Wallis test and the Mann-Whitney further test were used to examine the data. The Kruskal Wallis test showed significant differences in taste, aroma, texture, and color between almond extract yoghurt with dates. The Mann-Whitney test showed that the taste, aroma, viscosity, and color of almond extract yoghurt with the addition of dates as much as 10% were significantly different from 20% and 30%. It can be concluded that the addition of dates can increase the acceptance of the taste, aroma, viscosity, and color of almond extract yoghurt. Penelitian ini terdiri atas tiga tahap. Tahap pertama meliputi persiapan bahan dan peralatan serta penyusunan formula yoghurt sari almond dengan penambahan kurma. Tahap kedua yaitu proses pembuatan yoghurt sari almond dengan penambahan kurma. Tahap ketiga yaitu pelaksanaan uji hedonik dan uji peringkat. Persentase penambahan kurma pada pembuatan yoghurt sari almond yaitu sebanyak 10%, 20%, dan 30% dari berat sari almond. Uji hedonik dan uji peringkat melibatkan 30 panelis tidak terlatih. Data dianalisis menggunakan analisis nonparametrik uji Kruskal Wallis dan uji lanjut Mann-Whitney. Hasil uji Kruskal Wallis menunjukkan penambahan kurma memberikan perbedaan yang nyata pada penerimaan rasa, aroma, kekentalan dan warna yoghurt sari almond. Uji lanjut Mann-Whitney menunjukkan bahwa rasa, aroma, kekentalan dan warna dari yoghurt sari almond dengan penambahan kurma sebanyak 10% berbeda nyata dengan 20% dan 30%. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa penambahan kurma dapat meningkatkan penerimaan rasa, aroma, kekentalan dan warna yoghurt sari almond. Kata kunci: Kurma; penerimaan; sari almond; yoghurt.

Mortality Analysis of Early COVID-19 Cases in the Philippines Based on Observed Demographic and Clinical Characteristics

This study aims to determine the demographic, epidemiologic, and clinical characteristics of COVID-19 cases that are highly susceptible to COVID-19 infection, with longer hospitalization and at higher risk of mortality and to provide insights that may be useful to assess the vaccination priority program and allocate hospital resources. Methods that were used include descriptive statistics, nonparametric analysis, and survival analysis. Results of the study reveal that women are more susceptible to infection while men are at risk of longer hospitalization and higher mortality. Significant risk factors to COVID-19 mortality are older age, male sex, difficulty breathing, and comorbidities like hypertension and diabetes. Patients with these combined symptoms should be considered for admission to the COVID-19 facility for proper management and care. Also, there is a significant delay in the testing and diagnosis of those who died, implying that timeliness in the testing and diagnosis of patients is crucial in patient survival.
