Western liberal political philosophy, which undergirds the conception of the modern nation-state as theorized by European philosophers of liberalism from centuries past, is primarily concerned with the dynamics of rights and responsibilities between the individual and state institutions. In defining these dynamics, some philosophers held an assumption of human nature as inherently inclined toward selfish ends...

Limited research has been conducted to identify how elder abuse (EA) can be managed and prevented. Interventions employed by a community agency multidisciplinary team across 164 EA cases were examined. Results identified the largest number ( N = 369) and widest variety of EA interventions to date. Using content analysis, interventions with similar proximal goals were grouped into 30 intervention strategies to evaluate efficacy and 12 higher-order intervention categories to guide practice. Intervention outcomes were rated as positive, negative, neutral, could not implement, or unknown. Positive outcomes were the most common (35%), and also included novel and/or effective interventions aimed at perpetrators such as physical treatment, social support, and communication. Few (1%) interventions had negative outcomes. Many interventions could not be implemented (21%), often due to a lack of funding or victim refusal. Results suggest changes to policy, practice, and research methodology, which could increase positive outcomes through facilitation of intervention implementation and improved data access.

The purpose of this study was to find and study about public services advertising community movement program “GERMAS” public health.  This research is in the form of field research. Field research is research that is aimed directly at the location of the research to be studied, namely in a community, agency or company to search for data and then observe and conclude. Based on the results of the discussion in the previous chapter, it can be concluded that the public service advertisement broadcast of the GERMAS program broadcast by Odan FM Radio is effective, because listeners find it helpful to have information in the form of advertisements delivered through Odan Radio broadcasts, where many people follow several the points in the GERMAS program, although there are still people who do not know about and participate in this GERMAS program, where there are deficiencies felt by the Health Office in delivering the GERMAS program in the community.

This article discusses Tracy Chevalier’s A Single Thread (2019), with an emphasis on the parallels between the writer’s interest in women’s resilient experiences, which lead to individual and community agency, and the role played in these by cultural practices such as embroidery and bell-ringing. Chevalier’s focus is on the interwar period and its closeness to totalitarianism. Based on aspects from the theory of resilience (Cyrulnik 2006; Herman 1992; Vanistendael 2003), this article explores how the uses and meanings associated with cultural practices can turn them into resources for modulating grief and mobilising such resilience and agency in women’s lives, both from an individual and a social perspective. This article also considers that an understanding of Chevalier’s oeuvre can be of help in shaping future scholarly research on this writer.

Domestic violence (DV) experienced by immigrant women is a public health concern. In collaboration with a community agency, researchers undertook a retrospective review of 1,763 client files from 2006–2014. The three aims were to document the incidence of DV, service needs associated with DV, and identification of risk factors associated with DV in the extracted file data. About 41% reported DV and required multiple services. Separated and divorced women, and women on visitor/temporary visas showed the highest risk. The results underscore the value of research partnerships with community-based service agencies in increasing our understanding of DV among immigrant women.

Within this study, we want to determine the extent of academic administrators' managerial roles in a certain university, because their role in any academic institution is the most significance to lead the employees and middle managers. Once the administrators do the proper and appropriate management, the organization's goals will be attained. We employed the descriptive survey method, and used the rating of administration's managerial roles implementation, as one of our measures in our questionnaires. We formulated a qualitative scale, and each one has its corresponding verbal interpretation. In addition, we propose a hypothetical mean range, which is the assigned numeric value to strengthen and validate each of the particular qualitative extent. We found that the academic administrators manifested their managerial roles are at a great degree; confirming the interview with the nonteaching staff and the academic administrators themselves. We conclude that although the academic administrators manifested their capabilities in performing their managerial roles to attain the goals of the university, still, there were certain areas that they needed to develop, such as to enhance network with other institutions and community agency, to confine subordinate's workload with a dedication for official duties.
