Actively promoting the development of offshore wind power is an inevitable choice if the People’s Republic of China plans to fulfill its international commitments, respond to climate change, ensure energy security, and improve energy infrastructure. Inevitably, offshore wind power development will conflict with other marine activities, including mariculture and shipping. Therefore, learning how to develop offshore wind power without affecting the environment or conflicting with other marine activities is crucial to the conservation of spatial marine resources. The rapid development of offshore wind power in Liaoning Province has allowed researchers to develop an index system that can be used to evaluate the suitability of offshore wind power development sites by considering costs, environmental protection, and sea management. Spatial analysis and a multi-attribute evaluation method integrating a fuzzy membership function were used to evaluate offshore wind farm placement in Liaoning. The results classified 5%, 18%, 21%, and 56% offshore areas of Liaoning as very suitable, relatively suitable, somewhat unsuitable, and unsuitable for wind power development, respectively. The results of this paper can provide a reference for decision makers who plan for offshore wind farm locations under the constraints of high-intensity development.

As of today, nuclear power together with hydropower provides three-quarters of global low-carbon electricity generation. Over the past 60 years since the time of its inception, the use of nuclear power has reduced CO2 emissions by over 60 gigatonnes. There is no doubt that nuclear power can play a major, and maybe even a decisive role in decarbonizing the electricity sector, as it is evident from the current energy mix of some European countries, especially France, and major economic powers like the Unites States, Russia and South Korea. It is also evident that in most advanced economies nuclear power has entered a phase of gradual decline with little new investment coming into new projects, regardless of the world’s desperate need for more low-carbon electricity. Although existing reactor and their corresponding fuel cycle technologies have enabled the global nuclear power fleet to reach ~ 400 GWe of net installed capacity, there is growing concern that the scale of NPP shutdowns expected in Europe and North America could offset new capacity additions in Asian markets. Theoretically, renewable energy could fill the void left by reactors taken offline but there is strong evidence that the potential of wind and solar for global decarbonization is limited by material, land and economic constraints. Large-scale renewable systems would also require massive energy storage capacity that would hamper economic sustainability of the energy supply for developing countries. Taking into account the potential benefits of developing nuclear power, some countries are determined to expand its share in their energy mix through technological innovation and application of new strategies, directed at improving or completely resolving current issues related to economics, environmental concerns or non-proliferation of nuclear weapons. There are many states in the world today pursuing some sort of nuclear power development. A limited number of countries envision expanding or transforming their nuclear energy system using truly game-changing strategies based on innovative reactor, fuel cycle and waste management technologies. The focus of this paper is to give an overview of the approaches to large-scale nuclear power development being applied today in Russia, China, USA and India.

As a kind of green and pollution-free renewable energy, wind energy has great development prospects. How to promote the development of the wind power industry and improve the efficiency of wind power development and utilization is an urgent problem that needs to be solved. On the basis of analyzing the current situation of China’s power development, especially wind power development, a data envelopment analysis (DEA) method was used to analyze China’s wind power development and utilization efficiencies from 2005 to 2020. The results show that the development efficiency of China’s wind power was mainly affected by pure technical efficiency, while the utilization efficiency of China’s wind power was mainly affected by scale efficiency. Therefore, when considering wind power development, the management of wind power development should be strengthened, in order to realize the optimal allocation of resources. In terms of wind power utilization, the output scale of wind power utilization should be expanded to increase the contribution of wind power products to the national economy.

Ensuring the implementation progress of Vietnam's major gas projects (Block B, Ca Voi Xanh and Ken Bau) with early gas flow to the shore not only provides gas for power projects on time in accordance with the draft National Power Development Master Plan for the 2021 - 2030 period, with a vision to 2045 (draft Power Master Plan VIII), but also maintains the momentum of economic growth and increase revenues for the State budget. Vietnam needs solutions to accelerate the progress of projects to bring gas to shore to ensure energy security (meeting the increasing domestic gas demand), and to convert gas resources into national budget in the trend of energy transition and efficiency of investment capital (for projects having state-owned enterprise’s capital). The article analyses the fluctuation of State budget revenue when gas projects are slow to be put into operation, compares the national benefits of gas extraction projects with LNG import, and thereby recommends solutions to put gas projects into early operation.

Abstract In this policy brief we investigate the wind power development in Brazil and its effects on employment and regional growth. Using the CGE model TERM-BR10, we estimate that in the absence of the policy framework that supported wind power expansion there would have been a GDP loss of 0.15% nationally and of 1.1% in the Northeast region (which concentrates over 90% of wind installed capacity), with negative impacts to labour market mostly over skilled jobs.

The article presents indicators of the powerlifting and kettlebell lifting influence on the power improvement of male students. The analysis of literature sources showed that to increase the level of power readiness, a significant number of students prefer powerlifting, and others - kettlebell lifting. Power exercises promote the development of students' important volitional and physical qualities, readiness for highly productive work; preservation and strengthening of health, maintenance of comprehensive harmonious development; acquiring of the necessary knowledge on the organization of physical education and sports training by young people; the realization of tasks of professionally-applied physical training taking into account features of the future professional activity, and improving skills in sports developing power. The aim of the article is to substantiate and test experimentally the efficiency of powerlifting and kettlebell lifting for the power improvement of male students in the physical education process. It is proved that the use of powerlifting promotes the development of maximum and absolute power, and kettlebell lifting promotes the development of endurance and the improvement of the physical performance of students, which is important for their future professional activity and life activity. The analysis of the physical fitness indicators of students, obtained in the process of a formative pedagogical experiment, convincingly showed the high efficiency of powerlifting and kettlebell lifting for the power development. The students of the experimental group significantly improved the indicators in five tests in physical training Р < 0,05–0,001.
