Congenital penile curvature (CPC) is a rare condition in men but has considerable impact on male sexual activity as well as their mental health. Many techniques had been proposed to manage this condition, however the corporal rotation technique had the advantage of preserving the penile length. Therefore, we conducted a study on 16 men with CPC who were treated with corporal rotation surgery to evaluate the outcome of this technique. The results showed that the mean degree of curvature was 51 ± 12.2 degree. The majority of patients had a moderate penile curvature (< 60 degree) and ventral curvature (75%). After the surgery, the residual curvature decreased significantly (from 51 ± 12.2 degree to 16.6 ± 6.34 degree with p < 0.001). We observed no remarkable changes in all penile dimensions including stretched penile length (13.6 ± 0.93cm before the surgery compared with 13.3 ± 0.89cm after the surgery with p = 0.01). Erectile function of the subjects was also significantly improved especially in the intercourse satisfaction domain.

Background: The penile size has always been a symbol of manliness and pride. Many adult think that there penile length are not adequate and goes to different medical disciplines. There is no study in Bangladesh regarding penile size and somatometric parameter. The results will help in counseling patients afraid of their penile size , also in clinical and research purpose. Objective: To assess the penile size in different dimensions such as flaccid, stretch, and girth (circumferential) penile length and its relationship with age, height, weight, and BMI. Materials and Methods: The study was conducted on 300 adult males with no penile abnormalities. Length of penises in flaccid, stretch, and circumference were measured. Age ,height, weight were measured and BMI (body mass index) was calculated. Correlation of penile dimensions with somatometric parameters were analyzed. Results: The average flaccid penile length(FPL) was 7.81 cm, the mean stretch length(SPL) was 11.21 cm, and the mean circumferential length(CPL) was 8.65 cm. The penile length in the three dimensions was significantly different from each other (p<0.05). A significant correlation was found among the three penile dimensions (p<0.05). Conclusion: The penile size in different dimensions can be varied with age, height, weight and BMI. KYAMC Journal. 2021;12(3): 122-126

Abstract In the newborn, penile length is determined by a number of androgen dependent and independent factors. The current literature suggests that there are inter-racial differences in stretched penile length in the newborn and although congenital micropenis should be defined as a stretched penile length of less than 2.5SDS of the mean for the corresponding population and gestation, a pragmatic approach would be to evaluate all boys with a stretched penile length below 2 cm, as congenital micropenis can be a marker for a wide range of endocrine conditions. However, it remains unclear as to whether the state of micropenis, itself, is associated with any long-term consequences. There is a lack of systematic studies comparing the impact of different therapeutic options on long-term outcomes, in terms of genital appearance, quality of life and sexual satisfaction. To date, research has been hampered by a small sample size and inclusion of a wide range of heterogeneous diagnoses; for these reasons, condition specific outcomes have been difficult to compare between studies. Lastly, there is a need for a greater collaborative effort in collecting standardized data so that all real-world or experimental interventions performed at an early age can be studied systematically into adulthood.

Abstract Background: Proper genital examination including stretched penile size in neonates is important. Stretched penile size is different from one nation to another nation, it needs a standard for a particular population. Objectives: is to establish the standard penile size for term newborns in Ethiopia. Methods: Hospital based cross sectional study was conducted on 221 term neonates delivered from March 1, 2020 to July 30, 2020 in St. Paul’s Hospital Millennium Medical College (SPHMMC) Results: The minimum and maximum measured penile length was 2.5, and 5 cm respectively with mean (± SD) of 3.28 ± 0.42. There was a weak positive correlation between stretched penile length and head circumference and body length. Neonates born via instrumental delivery had larger penile length. Conclusion: Mean stretched penile length in our study was 3.28 ± 0.42 cm. Based on our findings, penile length at ±2SD were 2.43 cm and 4.12 cm respectively.
