Introduction. Increasing the efficiency of using a warehouse with a constant volume is an urgent task, the solution of which is possible through block or deep-lane storage systems. One such solution is the pallet flow rack, which saves up to 25% of the distance travelled by a forklift compared to the single-deep racks. The main element of the safe operation of the gravity roller conveyors used in a pallet flow rack is a brake roller. The most promising design is a magnetic (eddy current) type brake roller. The purpose of the work is to carry out a comparative analysis of the results of the calculated and experimental studies to determine the speed of movement of a pallet along a magnetic brake roller.Materials and methods. The research area is the magnetic brake roller. Its construction and description of work presented. The results of calculated and experimental study of the coefficient of magnetic viscosity presented.Results. The calculated and experimental dependences of the pallet movement speed along the magnetic brake roller were obtained. It was found that with an increase in the speed of movement of the pallet along the magnetic brake roller, the error of the mathematical model increases, and, first of all, after crossing with the straight line of a drag peak speed.Conclusions. A comparative analysis of the results of the calculated and experimental studies to determine the speed of movement of the pallet along the magnetic brake roller carried out. It was found that the developed design of a magnetic brake roller in the operating range of the pallet masses from 100 to 600 kg with up to 16 magnets located on one side of the disc, and from 100 to 1150 kg with up to 8 pairs of the magnets located on both sides of the disc, provides a speed control within the limits not exceeding the permissible speeds of the pallet movement on the gravitational roller conveyor. The verification of the mathematical model showed that the average value of the error of the mathematical model in the entire range of the pallet masses at speeds not exceeding the permissible speeds of pallet movement on a gravitational roller conveyor and below the drag peak speed is no more than 8.2%.

Title: Fishers Perception on Hygienic Fish Market at Cilacap fishing portThe quality of fisheries products subject to condition of the fish market. The key concept of fish quality at Cilacap was fishing port due to the existence of hygienic fish market. Decision Letter of the Director General of Capture Fisheries No.7/2017 regarding the technical guidelines for hygienic fish market at the fishing port has been the basis of the development of hygienic fishing port in Cilacap. This study aimed to asses and describe public perception on the hygienic fish market using a descriptive method. The study showed that public perception on hygienic fish market at Cilacap fishing port was above 146.67 in terms of its facilities. The condition of some facilities (flooring, ventilation, facilities or other equipment that support hygienic marketing) were classified under 93.33, while some equipment such as roller conveyor, cool box, ice crusher were not available at Cilacap fishing port. Unloading and transportation presented a high average perception in the application above 146.67. There are no auction, sorting on the sorting table, and labelling in the fish handling at hygienic fishing port since there is no auction Cilacap. There was a decreased participation of fishers in fish marketing. Therefore, it is necessary to improve application of hygienic fish handling by repairing the damaged facilities and establishing more additional equipment.

AbstractThe paper presents the concept of installation of an electricity generator and en energy store inside a roller of belt or roller conveyor. Accordingly, the use of a generator-pulley does not require any structural changes to be made to an existing conveyor. In addition, the user will be able to power distributed sensors network for monitoring the operation of the belt conveyor anywhere on its route.

One of the main elements of safe operation of gravity conveyors used in gravity racks for pallets is the brake roller. The most promising design is a brake roller of magnetic (eddy current) type. A mathematical model of the process of moving pallets on a magnetic brake roller is developed. The equation of the speed of movement of the pallets on the brake magnetic roller obtained. The main parameter that determines the braking functions of the brake magnetic roller, and therefore the speed of movement of the pallet on the gravity roller conveyor is the coefficient of roller, experimental studies have been carried out to determine the magnetic viscosity coefficient. It was found that the coefficient of magnetic viscosity decreases with increasing air gap between the conductive body and the permanent magnets, and this dependence has a power-law character; decreases by 10... 25% with increasing speed of the conductive body; independent of changes in the distance between the centers of the conductive body and the permanent magnet; decreases when an edge effect appears in accordance with the air gap.

For centuries, humans have attempted to improve their living conditions, seeking to facilitate their daily tasks and in the industry, seeking to improve production processes, in order to be more competitive and generate greater wealth through their work, trying to avoid work risks and accidents, improve product quality and production times, as well as downtime. The design proposed for this work is that of a roller conveyor by gravity, controlled and monitored by PLC, sensors, dosers, and data matrix cameras, in order to have internal control of the manufacturing process of the Carrier piece. The automation of this conveyor line will reduce transport times between each work operation, eliminating unnecessary movements and increasing mobility in each work operation. This will help increase production, in addition to reducing mishandling of the piece caused by the wrong manipulation of the operator.

Abstract Passive roller conveyors are frequently used in material handling applications to transport objects of various sizes and shapes. Passive systems cannot control unit flow, leading to queues and system jams. In this paper we analyze the performance of a gravity-driven roller conveyor with brakes selectively installed on rollers to control package flow in the load lanes of a transportation hub. Dynamics of the rollers and kinematic interaction with boxes on the conveyor were derived and fully modeled in MATLAB to simulate accurate conveyor behavior. Sensitivity analyses were performed to evaluate the effect of friction, box mass, roller inertia, and other factors. Using heuristic data to define boundary conditions (box weight, size, and input frequency), several control cases were evaluated. Performance was defined by buffering efficiency of the conveyor, or how effectively the conveyor “kept pace” with a person moving boxes from the load conveyor onto a waiting truck. Several dynamic control cases were simulated. It was found that the optimal number of installed brakes is 30% of the total rollers on the conveyor. Even rudimentary brake control schemes (applying a simple duty-cycle on/off to roller brakes) had the potential to increase the conveyor buffer efficiency by 10% over baseline, with the potential for much greater benefits from more “intelligent” closed-loop control schemes. The simulation and optimization of the active roller conveyor gave insights into the behavior of their truck loading system and identified several ways to increase loading efficiency.
