In this article, we examine the figure of the Piloto in the Modern Age, the period in which took place the swap from sailing as a flair to the scientific and astronomical navigation. At such a very important time in the history of science, The Piloto had an essential role in the great transformation suffered by maritime navigation. Navigational knowledge, formerly based on the intuition, moved first to the empiric knowledge and finally to the speculative, what implied a step forward in his career. To this end, in the abstract, it is tackled his initial social status, the technical capabilities he should hold to develop his job, as well as his technical consideration. Eventually, we show how the social condition which he belonged to, determined his social, professional and technical development.

Schwannomas are encapsulated tumors arising from Schwann cells of the nerve sheath, and are usually solitary sporadic lesions. The schwannoma of the ilio-hypogastric nerve especially in the retro-petoneal space is very rare. We are reporting a case of the schwannoma of the left ilio-hypagastric nerve over the psoas muscle. The diagnosis was done by ultarsonogrsphy and MRI. The histopathological study confirmed the diagnosis. The tumour was excised through retro-peritoneal approach. By this approach total excision of the tumour with preservation of ilio-hypogastric nerve is possible. Journal of Science Foundation 2019;17(2):71-74

Serious games are transcending the way of teaching and learning nowadays. Since serious games balance playful and educational aspects, it constitutes a privileged learning method for the digital natives. However, they are ubiquitous in today's society and their stakes and assets remain largely fuzzy. This paper describes different models and frameworks for serious game design. Between theoretical and technical consideration, authors propose a new reflection model that aims to help pedagogues guiding their conception of serious games. This model is a result of a thematic synthesis analyzing more than 40 texts offering a three-layered model covering the simplest to the most advanced design. Three study cases are announced to be conducted by the end of this year in order to challenge and evaluate this new model.

In simple bifurcation lesions provisional single stent strategy remains the standard of care. While complex bifurcations, defined based on the 1) Side Branch (SB) lesion length of > 10 mm and 2) SB ostial diameter stenosis of >70% are approached with a 2-DES strategy upfront. The Crush techniques which are composed of the classic Crush, mini-Crush and double kissing Crush (DK-Crush) share the core principle of protruding the SB DES within the Main Branch (MB) to minimize the risk of ostial SB restenosis, which remains the most prevalent etiology of stent failure during 2-stent approach in bifurcations. Proximal SB optimization (PSO) is an additional technical consideration to further optimize the protruding SB struts enabling 1) optimal SB strut accommodation to the larger MB vessel diameter, 2) strut enlargement that will further facilitate effortless rewiring for kissing balloon inflation (KBI) avoiding unfavorable guide wire advancement in the peri-ostial SB area.

Cavernoma is benign tumour of the orbit. It results in proptosis, visual disturbance, diplopia and ptosis of the eye. It is amenable to surgery and this results in complete after surgical removal without recurrence. We report a case of right orbital cavernoma in a female, who presented with non-pulsatile painless proptosis, slight ptosis and double vision while looking at the right side. Her MRI revealed that she had a cavernoma of the right orbit. She was operated by the lateral orbitotomy. This easily removed the tumour, cosmetically acceptable and she became symptom free. Bang. AbstractCongenital right pulmonary artery to left atrium fistula is rare cause of cyanosis. It is an abnormal fistulous connection between right pulmonary artery and left atrium representing a direct communication between a pulmonary artery and vein with absence of capillary network connecting between these two. Cardiovascular examination usually remains normal. High index of suspicion on clinical examination and subsequent transthoracic echocardiography is needed to suspect this entity. Bubble contrast echocardiography usually confirms the diagnosis. Cardiac catheterization is used as diagnostic as well as therapeutic modality. Cardiac catheterization is useful in classifying the fistula and helps in transcatheter closure by embolization devices. Choice of devices depends on type of fistula, vascular access, and presence of atrial communication. Here, we are reporting 8-month-old girl presenting with type 2 right pulmonary artery to left atrium fistula, which underwent successful transcatheter closure by 6 mm/4 mm duct occluder (Heart R, Lifetech Scientific, Shenzhen, China). Early closure in this young age will prevent complications of cyanosis. The technical consideration, possible access, and closure techniques are discussed in this young infant.
