Abstract Older adults are at increased risk for loneliness and social isolation. Research on loneliness identifies increased rates of depression, increased cognitive decline, and poor cardiovascular health outcomes. The COVID-19 pandemic forced many older adults into social isolation for protection against this insidious virus. Mandated lockdowns and personal decisions to shelter-in-place produced a tremendous increase in rates of loneliness, especially among older adults. Identifying a need for communication and relationships, we created Villanova ReachOut, a program that partners interprofessional students (N= 66) with older adults (N=53) through weekly telephone or video calls. To assess the impact of our program we developed a five question survey administered via phone to older adults and a 13-item survey for volunteers to assess training, satisfaction, needs and impact of the program. Of the older adults (n=16) who completed the survey, 78.6% believe the program helped them feel less isolated throughout the pandemic and 93.8% indicated they looked forward to weekly calls with their partner . Volunteers who completed the survey (N=25), overwhelmingly stated they enjoy and look forward to their calls (100%) and their communication skills have improved (92%). Volunteers reported being paired up with an older adult for weekly conversation had a positive impact on their personal and professional development. Findings from our program evaluation provide rich data in descriptions of positive impact for both the older adult and volunteer. These findings also support the need for programs that engage in intergenerational dialogue, specifically targeting older adults and the potential older adult workforce.

This study sets out to investigate the antecedents of turnover intentions, using the private healthcare employees in an emerging economy (Ghana) as a benchmark. Even though myriad studies have been conducted on the aforementioned topic, yet, there are scant investigations on how employees of private healthcare institutions relate towards turnover intentions, specifically in a developing economy context. Therefore, this study draws on extant literature and subsequently proposes a hypothetical argument on the effect of training satisfaction, benefits and incentives on employee turnover intentions as well as resistance to change while establishing the nexus between turnover intentions and resistance to change. Both paper and web-based (online) questionnaires were gauged from employees of private healthcare organizations in Ghana. Data were analyzed by partial least square structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) on a sample of 544 employees of private healthcare institutions. The findings indicate that training satisfaction, benefits and incentives have a positive impact on an employee’s turnover intentions. Moreover, employee’s resistance to change is influenced by both training satisfaction and benefits and incentives. Further, the investigation established that employee’s resistance to change influences employee turnover intentions. The thoughtful mechanisms of how the running of private healthcare institutions in Ghana can be enhanced are expanded by the empirical results obtained through how employees can be satisfied by training and the application of rewards to reduce turnover. Moreover, administrators of private healthcare organizations are forewarned of the implications of employees’ resistance to change and its effect on employee turnover intentions. Abstract Objectives:Doctors who wish to be the general practitioners (GPs) need to attend and complete general practice residents training in China. As in the early stage of the standardized GP training system, the GP training supervisors play an important role. This study aims to explore how the GP residents’ perspective towards GP supervisors and what factors affect the satisfaction tendency, and to offer some suggestions by the implication drawn from this study.Design:A quantitative and qualitative mixed study was conduct in the study . First, in the quantitative research, we adopt a survey by collecting training satisfaction through questionnaires, and extract and analyze the factors which influence the training satisfaction. Next, in the qualitative analysis, we conduct in-depth semi-structured interviews using the qualitative research criteria (COREQ)––a 32-item checklist for interviews. Participants:There are 1172 GPs whose time to start training varies from 2008 to 2017 in the quantitative survey while 100 of them filtered by stratified random sampling and extreme answers to the quantitative survey (less than 5% of the total sample) are chosen for the qualitative research to dig into the details. Specifically, the stratified random sampling is based on the resident's grade, region, and training basement level (city level or county level ), and the extreme answers refer to “extremely good” and “extremely bad” answers from the early 1172 participants comprehensive survey. Consequently, 30 extreme-answer participants were found and the left 70 were selected by stratified random sampling. According to the final implementation, participants meet the needs of information collection and sample estimation. Results:The results show that the satisfaction towards GP theoretical training supervisors, GP hospital-based training supervisors , and GP community-based training supervisors was different. From the average and long-term perspective, the prioritize of satisfaction is :GP theoretical training supervisors> GP community-based training supervisors > GP hospital-based training supervisors.GP hospital-based training supervisors need to improve GP concept, teaching methods and consciousness. GP community-based training supervisors need to improve their teaching methods, clinical theoretical knowledge and practice ability. Conclusions: On one hand ,GP supervisors team in China has been gradually settled up. On the other hand, the satisfaction tendency of residents toward GP supervisors are quite different, GP supervisors team need to be promoted and strengthened.

The method used is explanatory research with a quantitative approach, with a sample of 71 village treasurers. The results showed that system quality, information quality and satisfaction had a positive and significant effect on performance and satisfaction partially mediated the effect of system quality, information quality and training on the performance of village financial information system users (SISKEUDES) in East Lombok Regency. Keywords: System Quality; Quality Of Information; Training; Satisfaction; Performance.

Abstract Background: Patients who undergo total knee arthroplasty (TKA) experience severe pain after surgery. Especially active pain in early postoperative rehabilitation training of the knee joint is particularly severe, and it should receive people’s attention. Methods: A total of 90 patients who only received unilateral TKA in our hospital were randomly and equally divided into three groups (group C1: 1% chloroprocaine, group C2: 2% chloroprocaine, and group NS: 0.9% sodium chloride solution 0.2 ml/kg; the dosage was fixed at 0.2 ml/kg for all three groups). All patients received femoral nerve catheterization before TKA and started rehabilitation training 48 h after TKA. The visual analogue scale (VAS) scores of active exercises before and after administration were observed and recorded. VAS scores, maximum knee flexion and extension angles, the incidence of knee flexion angle ≥100° in each group, the American knee society(AKS) scores, together with postoperative rehabilitation training satisfaction and adverse effects were recorded at 7 days and 3 months after surgery. Results: Compared with the NS group, VAS scores after administration of patients in the group C1 and C2 were decreased significantly at each time point (P < 0.05), and the maximum knee flexion angles were increased significantly (P < 0.05), as well as the proportion of maximum knee angle ≥100° (P < 0.05). The postoperative rehabilitation training satisfaction of patients in group C1 and C2 were more than that of patients in the NS group (P < 0.05).Conclusion: The administration of 1% chloroprocaine for femoral nerve block before rehabilitation training after TKA could improve the knee flexion angle at the early postoperative stage, increase the proportion of patients who could squat, and cause fewer side effects.
