The new coronavirus infection (currently classified as COVID-19), first identified in December 2019 in Wuhan, China, has contributed to a significant increase in global mortality. Coagulopathy is a common disorder in COVID-19 patients, which develops in parallel with respiratory failure. Currently, COVID-19 continues to be a life-threatening disease and requires new developments and solutions to define preventive and curative strategies. Studies often report an abnormality in the balance of coagulation and fibrinolytic systems in COVID-19, but there is still no adequate set of laboratory tests that could provide a diagnosis of coagulopathy in COVID-19. This review analyzes current studies on the clinical manifestations of COVID-19 coagulopathy, and also analyzes the informativeness of laboratory hemostasis tests in relation to the severity of the disease and clinical outcomes.

Neurofibromatoses are inherited tumour-suppressive disorders that are characterised by multiple neoplastic and non-neoplastic tumours. Neurofibromatosis type 1 is a common disorder with multiple neurofibromas with widespread complications. We here report a seven-year old boy presenting with first episode of seizure and multiple café-au-lait macules but neuroimaging revealed corpus callosal changes without any focal areas of signal intensities.

Pityriasis rosea (PR) is a dermatological disorder seen commonly in clinical practice. Despite its prevalence and benign nature, there are still times when this common disorder presents in an uncommon way or course posing diagnostic or management problems for the physician. The etiopathogenesis of PR has always been a dilemma, and extensive research is going on to elicit the exact cause. This review and case report focus mainly on the difficult aspects of this benign common disorder such as etiopathogenesis, atypical manifestations, recurrent cases, differential diagnosis and treatment.

Megaloblastic anemia is a common disorder with various manifestations. Of the many causes, cobalamin or folate deficiency can eventuate into megaloblastic anemia. It can lead to pancytopenia and mild to moderate splenomegaly, but massive splenomegaly rarely seen in this situation. We describe a 39-yearold woman with marked enlargement of the spleen and pancytopenia that was found to have megaloblastic anemia. The splenomegaly and blood count resolved 4 months after initiation of vitamin B12 therapy. It is important to know massive splenomegaly may occur in megaloblastic anemia, and although it is rare, bur can reversible with early treatment.
