<p>The purpose of this study was to examine how entrepreneurs act to bring an Information Technology-based innovation into being. Successful realisation of such innovations requires collective effort, involving resources and actors both internal and external to the entrepreneur‘s own venture (Van de Ven, 1993a, 2005; Lavie, 2006). The study is qualitative in nature and uses the Glaserian variant of the grounded theory method to collect and analyse data obtained from interviewing entrepreneurs, intrapreneurs, and collective agents involved in creating IT innovation. Through undertaking open, selective, and theoretical coding and the process of constant comparative analysis, the research produces a substantive theory for explaining: A Grounded Theory of Preneurial Agency in IT Creation. The Grounded Theory of Preneurial Agency in IT Creation accounts for the actions of both entrepreneurs and intrapreneurs who are jointly called ―preneurs‖ within this study, and their interaction with collective agents to create IT innovation. The process of preneurial agency, the actions the preneur undertakes to create the innovative idea and make it a tangible reality, is shown as a triality involving the combined agency of the preneur and collective agents interacting within social structures established by the preneur. To support this abstracted view of entrepreneurship, the study develops and defines a family of terms to describe the process of preneurship, the preneur, preneurial agency, and the preneurial ba within which the actors interact to create IT-based innovation. The value of the research lies in its view of the preneur‘s process of transition from entrepreneur to intrapreneur and to institutional actor; and how the actions of both the entrepreneur and intrapreneur to create IT innovation can be shown in an abstracted process of preneurial agency. It is expected that through the application of a specific set of actions, presented in The Grounded Theory of Preneurial Agency in IT Creation as six theoretical propositions, practitioners will be better able to inform their practice, and enhance the self management of their preneurial agency and interaction with collective agents.</p>

This study discusses the innovation of BUMDes and also SMEs in order toimprove the economy and improve community efforts in managing potentialeconomyowned by the area. Of course, this research will explore the problems that occur in BUMDes and UMKM as well as the role of the government and society in realizing a stable and prosperous community economy by implementing innovations that have been made to achieve these goals.This study uses a qualitative method.In this study, data collection was also carried out through searching various sources which were then processed and described in narrative form according to data needs. The population in this study is an area that has made innovations in the field of UMKM and also BUMDES which aims to grow and develop businesses in order to build a prosperous community economy. While the research subjects are in West Java Province with the innovation of the UMKM Outlet System and in Morotai Island Regency with its innovation, namely IT Bumdes. This study shows that local government and community participation in realizing innovations made in order to create a stable and prosperous community economy have succeeded in answering the problems that occurred, especially in West Java and Morotai Island Regency. With the creation of the UMKM Outlet System innovation in West Java and the IT innovation of Bumdes, Morotai Island Regency managed to provide an application system that can accommodate the development needs for the Cooperatives and Small Business Office as well as Small Business actors in the aspect of data and information processing. As well as providing services to the local community by placing prices and services according to market standards that do not cause distortions in the rural economy caused by BUMDes efforts. The advancement in information technology is accelerating, affecting many industries. Government entities are one of the industries that have been affected. They adopt information technology (IT) to replace disorganized traditional business processes. This study observes that the IT innovation adoption in an organization will lead to some resistance. We bring a case of IT adoption to replace one part of a manual business process (letter management system) into a digitalized system called E-office in one of Indonesia’s governmental organizations. The adoption of IT causes some resistance within the organization, which motivates us to identify resistances before and during the adoption. We interview a team who oversees handling E-office implementation and discovered two types of resistances in technology adoption: delaying resistances and opposition resistances. Meanwhile, there are two types of behavioral resistances: reluctant compliance resistance and misguided application resistance. This research further provides details on the approaches used by the organization to mitigate resistances before and during the adoption of the E-office project's implementation.

Abstract The travel and tourism industry is one of the largest and fastest-growing sectors in the world. In the case of countries like Georgia, where tourism is a priority sector of the economy, innovation is crucial for a tourism-based development strategy — and this has become particularly important in the post-pandemic realities. This paper proposes a certain framework for understanding the possibilities for harnessing technological innovations in the travel industry (particularly apps and websites). It then considers the specific example of the country of Georgia, outlining the state’s measures meant to foster IT innovation in tourism and also certain moderate successes to date in this respect. Next, the paper looks to Russian tourist-sector start-ups as models for operation that be successfully harnessed in the Georgian tourism industry, examining several such Russian start-ups in closer detail.

The wide-ranging features of a smartwatch have driven the rapid growth of the smartwatch market as they pique the users’ interests by offering interactive technology that simultaneously promotes fitness and tracks health. Nevertheless, the factors influencing smartwatch adoption among individuals are yet to be comprehended despite the ever-growing popularity of smartwatch usage. Hence, to understand the possible factors in detail, a research model is proposed to indicate the influential underlying factors relative to smartwatch adoption in the Malaysian populace. This study will examine the four proposed dimensions of perceived benefits, healthology, IT innovation, and smartwatch as luxury products. Online questionnaires will be used to collect the research data, while SPSS will be used to run both preliminary research and descriptive analyses, PLS-SEM will be used to further analyze the model.

Supply chain management can be viewed as an important part of a company's strategic strategy for increasing efficiency, results, and profitability. The aim of this paper is to us the fuzzy DEMATEL method to examine the impact of IT innovation on the operations of supply chain management of food industry in Nigeria. The study obtained sixteen (16) perspectives of impact of IT innovation on food industry SC management as obtain from literature and brain stormy of experts. A fuzzy Linguistic scale was developed and applies it to food manufacturing firms in Nigeria to test the level of the impact of IT innovation on supply chain management. The questionnaire designed for pairwise comparison to evaluate the influence of each score, where scores of 0, 1, 2, 3 and 4 represent: (no influence), (Very low influence), (low influence), (high influence) and (very high influence), respectively. Twelve experts were asked to complete the questionnaire comprises of 6 general managers, 6 Supply Chain managers all of food industry. Then the Fuzzy DEMATEL method was applied to analyze the importance of criteria and the casual relations among the criteria constructed. The result showed that the advanced planning system had the most impact and the strongest link to other criteria. As a result, APS is a key rationale and key criteria that influence other criteria and driving factors to solve problems.


This research particularly aimed to examine mediating roles of Information Technology (IT) innovation under the influences of IT governance to improve competitive advantages of institutions. For this primary goal, it was conducted both quantitatively and qualitatively. Apart from an empirical survey with active participation of 85 private schools of informatics management and computing in Indonesia, Focus Group Discussions (FGDs) were applied. Heads of respective schools became the informants. Quantitative data results emphasize that IT governance has indirect influences on competitive advantages. Mediating roles of IT innovation, however, positively and significantly improve such advantages. This paper suggests the essence of IT governance and IT innovation in improving higher education institutions in developing and developed countries.

PurposeThe use of information technology (IT) in the hospitality industry is driven by the need to improve and refine customer service. However, it is unlikely that new IT will be successfully implemented if employees' roles and emotions are overlooked. The purpose of this study is to examine the interplay of negative emotions (anger and fear), coping strategies (venting anger and psychological distancing), perceptions of an IT innovation and intention toward adopting it.Design/methodology/approachA research model is developed based on the cognitive appraisal theory of emotion, coping theory and innovation diffusion theory. An online survey was conducted among employees working for hotels that had deployed a new reservation system, and 234 responses were collected.FindingsThe results indicate that employees' negative emotions (anger and fear) have negative and significant effects on their perceptions of adopting a new reservation system through coping strategies (i.e. venting anger and psychological distancing). Furthermore, employees' perceptions of adopting an innovative reservation system have a positive effect on their adoption intention toward the system.Originality/valueTo the best of our knowledge, this is the first research to address the impact of distinct emotions on IT innovation adoption, as well as explaining the relation between affective and cognitive effects. The findings demonstrate the importance of examining negative emotions in IT innovation adoption. In addition, the model developed in this study confirms that an appraisal tendency approach better specifies the conditions under which different emotions are triggered to predict and explain how emotions relate to IT use through adaptation behaviors when compared with a valence-based approach.
