With the growing environmental awareness, there is a rising demand for green decorative materials in furniture and indoor design. However, the existing studies lack the overall evaluation of environmental functions for green decorative materials in indoor design. To make up for the gap, this paper evaluates the environmental function and explores the preparation method of green decorative materials in indoor design. Firstly, the types and purchase principles of green decorative materials were expounded, and the preparation flow of wood product coating was given for green decorative materials in indoor design. Then, an evaluation model was established for the environmental functions of green decorative materials, the stochastic dominance matrix was constructed for the indices, and the order value of each index was computed. Finally, fuzzy Dempster–Shafer (D-S) evidence theory was adopted to develop a prediction algorithm for the environmental function of indoor decorations, and thus realize the evaluation of the greenness of decorative materials in indoor design. Experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of our algorithm, and the good performance of the prepared super-hydrophobic and oleophobic coatings.

The purpose of this article is to make a proposal for the control of heno motita (Tillandsia recurvata), based on the analysis of its environmental function within the atmospheric basin of Tula, to contribute to the solution of a state forest problem. Its approach is quantitative experimental since it seeks to explain how the application of 5% acetic acid and 80g / l sodium bicarbonate affects the emergence of new shoots and the Hay Motita plant directly, as well as to identify the function that said plant fulfills. within the microenvironment. The findings show that heno motita is a plant that seeks a support to capture nutrients from the air, however, shading causes the host plant to decrease its efficiency in capturing energy, likewise there is mechanical damage due to its weight and a chemical one since it secretes an allelopathic substance that damages the new shoots. On the other hand, Tillandsia recurvata "sequesters" particles of different materials such as heavy metals in its trichomes, thus contributing to the sanitation of the atmosphere. Finally, the steps to follow to develop a specific management program are proposed.

An in-depth exploration of the dynamics and existing problems in farmland morphology is crucial to formulate targeted protection policies. In this study, we constructed a morphological evaluation index system to identify the characteristics of farmland use transition in Sihong County of the Huang-Huai-Hai Plain, China. The dominant morphology in terms of area and landscape pattern and the recessive morphology focusing on function were considered in this work. Based on this information, the driving factors of farmland use transition were quantitatively analyzed via the mixed regression model. The following major findings were determined: (1) The area showed a U-shaped change trend during 2009–2018. The patch density (PD) showed an upward trend, and the mean patch size (MPS) showed a downward trend, indicating that the degree of farmland fragmentation increased. The implementation of land consolidation projects increased the area and aggregation of farmland, while urbanization and road construction occupied and divided the farmland, leading to a reduction in area and increase in the degree of fragmentation. (2) The crop production, living security, and eco-environmental function of farmland showed a trend of first decreasing and then increasing. Urbanization increased the demand for agricultural products and the degree of large-scale agricultural production and had a positive impact on the crop production and eco-environmental function of farmland. Our research highlights that increasing farmland fragmentation should be addressed in the farming area. Therefore, the government should formulate efficient policies to curb farmland occupation for urban and traffic utilization.

ABSTRACT Biological nitrogen fixation is an essential reaction in a major pathway for supplying nitrogen to terrestrial environments. Previous culture-independent analyses based on soil DNA/RNA/protein sequencing could globally detect the nitrogenase genes/proteins of Anaeromyxobacter (in the class Deltaproteobacteria), commonly distributed in soil environments and predominant in paddy soils; this suggests the importance of Anaeromyxobacter in nitrogen fixation in soil environments. However, direct experimental evidence is lacking; there has been no research on the genetic background and ability of Anaeromyxobacter to fix nitrogen. Therefore, we verified the diazotrophy of Anaeromyxobacter based on both genomic and culture-dependent analyses using Anaeromyxobacter sp. strains PSR-1 and Red267 isolated from soils. Based on the comparison of nif gene clusters, strains PSR-1 and Red267 as well as strains Fw109-5, K, and diazotrophic Geobacter and Pelobacter in the class Deltaproteobacteria contain the minimum set of genes for nitrogenase (nifBHDKEN). These results imply that Anaeromyxobacter species have the ability to fix nitrogen. In fact, Anaeromyxobacter PSR-1 and Red267 exhibited N2-dependent growth and acetylene reduction activity (ARA) in vitro. Transcriptional activity of the nif gene was also detected when both strains were cultured with N2 gas as a sole nitrogen source, indicating that Anaeromyxobacter can fix and assimilate N2 gas by nitrogenase. In addition, PSR-1- or Red267-inoculated soil showed ARA activity and the growth of the inoculated strains on the basis of RNA-based analysis, demonstrating that Anaeromyxobacter can fix nitrogen in the paddy soil environment. Our study provides novel insights into the pivotal environmental function, i.e., nitrogen fixation, of Anaeromyxobacter, which is a common soil bacterium. IMPORTANCE Anaeromyxobacter is globally distributed in soil environments, especially predominant in paddy soils. Current studies based on environmental DNA/RNA analyses frequently detect gene fragments encoding nitrogenase of Anaeromyxobacter from various soil environments. Although the importance of Anaeromyxobacter as a diazotroph in nature has been suggested by culture-independent studies, there has been no solid evidence and validation from genomic and culture-based analyses that Anaeromyxobacter fixes nitrogen. This study demonstrates that Anaeromyxobacter harboring nitrogenase genes exhibits diazotrophic ability; moreover, N2-dependent growth was demonstrated in vitro and in the soil environment. Our findings indicate that nitrogen fixation is important for Anaeromyxobacter to survive under nitrogen-deficient environments and provide a novel insight into the environmental function of Anaeromyxobacter, which is a common bacterium in soils.

A range of bacteria and archaea produce gas vesicles as a means to facilitate flotation. These gas vesicles have been purified from a number of species and their applications in biotechnology and medicine are reviewed here. Halobacterium sp. NRC-1 gas vesicles have been engineered to display antigens from eukaryotic, bacterial and viral pathogens. The ability of these recombinant nanoparticles to generate an immune response has been quantified both in vitro and in vivo. These gas vesicles, along with those purified from Anabaena flos-aquae and Bacillus megaterium , have been developed as an acoustic reporter system. This system utilizes the ability of gas vesicles to retain gas within a stable, rigid structure to produce contrast upon exposure to ultrasound. The susceptibility of gas vesicles to collapse when exposed to excess pressure has also been proposed as a biocontrol mechanism to disperse cyanobacterial blooms, providing an environmental function for these structures.

Community home-based care has become China’s main mode of care for the elderly, and the aging of the community public environment has become the focus of attention of all of society. This study uses a questionnaire survey and the fuzzy analytic hierarchy process (FAHP) to (i) obtain the relative weights of indicators in the hierarchy structure of an aging-friendly community public environment and (ii) build a complete indicator evaluation system for the aging-friendly community public environment. The research results show that the quasi-side evaluation index framework of the aging-friendly community public environment is composed of four factors (i.e., community facilities, community road system, community environmental function, and community landscape configuration) and 24 evaluation indexes. The weights of the indicators in descending order are “community road system (w = 0.374)”, “community facilities (w = 0.310)”, “community environmental functions (w = 0.264)”, and “community landscape configuration (w = 0.052)”. The research results show that "community road systems” and “community facilities” are important indicators of the aging-friendliness of a community public environment. “Community environmental function” is an important supplemental factor of the aging-friendliness of a community public environment. “Community landscape configuration” involves improving the construction of the community public environment from the perspective of landscaping. Among all indicator levels, the weights of “Community road floor slip resistance” (w = 0.1795), “Daily health and medical facilities (w = 0.1181)”, and “Provide social interaction functions (w = 0.1067)” are ranked the highest. These results show that ensuring the physical and mental health of the elderly in the community is a core criterion for evaluating the aging-friendliness of a public environment in the community. In this study, an index evaluation weight system is established to clarify the best approach to constructing an aging-friendly community public environment in accordance with previous standard specifications. This system can further clarify the scientific method for evaluating aging-friendly public environments built in the past and can serve as a reference for the practical world.
