Abstract Annotation. A methodology for determining zinc in tires (as a source of ecotoxicants in the atmospheric air) by atomic absorption with microwave pre-treatment as a product of motor vehicle wear in St. Petersburg was developed. In the article, the author gives different ways of sampling for testing. One of the rubber samples was taken from one area no larger than 5x5 cm on one tyre (first sampling option), the second sample was taken cumulatively from all tyre sides around its circumference (second sampling option). Tests of selected samples were carried out allowing conclusions to be drawn about the optimal sampling method. A comparative analysis has been made of the test results of samples taken by different methods from the car tyre surface. Based on the comparative analysis conclusions were made about the homogeneity of the tire composition. Various physical and chemical methods of sample preparation for the heavy metals determination are presented. In the course of the work the author selected the optimal conditions for sample preparation for testing allowing to obtain the maximum possible extraction of the analyte at the stage of sample preparation. The atomic absorption method was used to determine the zinc content in automobile tire samples. On the basis of the results obtained conclusions about the optimal sampling methods and sample preparation were made and the test conditions of the samples were optimized.

As we all know, the tire acoustic cavity resonance noise (TACRN) can cause irritating noise in a vehicle, but it is evidently difficult to be weakened. To obtain accurately the characteristics of TACRN is a key step of attenuating TACRN. In this paper, a simulation method, in which a simplified finite element model of automobile tire with acoustic cavity introducing the rotation of automobile tire is established, is proposed to gain the sound field in the cavity of a rotating automobile tire. And the test of sound pressure in a rotating tire is also performed to validate the proposed simulation method. The comparisons between the simulation and experimental consequences show a satisfying conclusion. Furthermore, the influence factors of the rotating speed, the inflation pressure of the tire and the load on the sound field of automobile tire acoustic cavity are calculated and analyzed.

This study aimed at evaluating the coupling effect of silane Si69 bis(triethoxysilylpropyl)tetrasulfide in metakaolin (MK) in automobile tire tread compounds based on a styrene–butadiene rubber/butadiene rubber blend. A reference compound of a typical tread recipe, filled with silica and carbon black, was used as a reference due to the acknowledged effect of TESPT in silica incorporation in elastomers. A silica sample without silane was also prepared. Silica was then completely substituted by MK, producing two samples, with and without silane. The samples were tested for crosslink density, rheometry, and morphology, and the vulcanization reaction parameters were determined and evaluated. Silane improved the interaction between MK and the polymer matrix, evidenced by the increase in crosslink density and vulcanization reaction rate, the same effect silane causes on silica-filled composites. Morphology also revealed that silane increased MK dispersion and adhesion to rubber. On the other hand, MK seems not to be as reinforcing as silica, considering that maximum torque is related to the stiffness of the material, with MK exhibiting lower values for this parameter.

Productivity level is based on reliability impression which is the rudimentary aspect of automatic assembly line for continuous production. Productivity forecasting is a professional tool helping to enhance production system and attain the client petition by using precise model. Due to mechanisms complexity of assembly lines, analysis of failure factors contributes a significant role for investigating potential bounds that require analytial approach for comparison the current and proposed model of productivity effects. The issues related to production losses need additional space for improvement of productivity model which may not present a close comparison between the current and proposed model of productivity. Through this paper the development of a novel based productivity model is attempted to extant comparisons for availability of assembly line workspaces of an automobile tire manufacturing plant in Pakistan. For investigating the potential bounds of productivity losses, DMAIC and PACE techniques are used. It is verified that novel productivity model yielded better results of 3.358 % errors showing its accuracy as compared to real productivity level at different workspaces. Different rates of production losses followed by the workspaces blockage timing issues are effectively discussed with engineering maintainable explanation for productivity enhancement within the tire curing assembly line.
