This study aimed to analyze Arabic language learning with a neurolinguistic approach at SMK Muhammadiyah 3 Yogyakarta. Students have not been able to accept the material presented by the teacher. Students have not responded with their brain intelligence, both in understanding mufradât as well as understanding muhâdatsah. This research used a case study approach, involving the principal, the representative of Ismuba (al-Islam, Kemuhammadiyahan, and Arabic Language) and the Arabic language teacher. Data were collected by observation and in-depth interviews. The results of the study prove that the neurolinguistic approach can understand students in mastering Arabic learning through brain synchronization, both right brain, and left brain. Optimizing Arabic language skills rests on his brain. This neurolinguistic approach can facilitate students in mastering istimâ', kalâm, qirâ'ah, and kitâbah abilities in Arabic learning.

Successfully optimizing the right and left sides of the brain can help to improve intelligence, logic and social intelligence. This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of the brain gym game in optimizing the right and left sides of students’ brains. A quantitative approach was used with a pretest/posttest design. Random sampling was used to recruit participants and the sample consisted of 53 students at XI MIPA Senior High School. The results showed that the brain gym game was effective in optimizing students’ right and left sides of the brain. Based on these results, innovation is recommended that contributes to the novelty of guidance and counseling media using the brain gym game to reflect on the functions of students’ right and left sides of the brain. Resting-state functional MRI (rs-fMRI) has been increasingly applied in the research of brain cognitive science and psychiatric diseases. However, previous studies only focused on specific activation areas of the brain, and there are few studies on the inactivation areas. This may overlook much information that explains the brain’s cognitive function. In this paper, we propose a relatively inert network (RIN) and try to explore its important role in understanding the cognitive mechanism of the brain and the study of mental diseases, using adult attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) as an example. Here, we utilize methods based on group independent component analysis (GICA) and t-test to identify RIN and calculate its corresponding time series. Through experiments, alterations in the RIN and the corresponding activation network (AN) in adult ADHD patients are observed. And compared with those in the left brain, the activation changes in the right brain are greater. Further, when the RIN functional connectivity is introduced as a feature to classify adult ADHD patients from healthy controls (HCs), the classification accuracy rate is 12% higher than that of the original functional connectivity feature. This was also verified by testing on an independent public dataset. These findings confirm that the RIN of the brain contains much information that will probably be neglected. Moreover, this research provides an effective new means of exploring the information integration between brain regions and the diagnosis of mental illness.

Abstract The effects of air pollution on sleep and dementia remain unclear. The objective of this study was to investigate the effects of air pollution on cognitive function as mediated by the sleep cycle. A cross-sectional study design was conducted to recruit 4866 subjects on which PSG had been performed. Fifty of them were further given a cognitive function evaluation by the MMSE and CASI as well as brain images by CT and MRI. Associations of 1-year air pollution parameters with sleep parameters, cognitive function, and brain structure were examined. We observed that O3 was associated with a decrease in arousal, an increase in the N1 stage, and a decrease in the N2 stage of sleep. NO2 was associated with an increase in the N1 stage, a decrease in the N2 stage, and an increase in REM. PM2.5 was associated with a decrease in the N1 stage, increases in the N2 and N3 stages, and a decrease in REM. The N1 and N2 stages were associated with cognitive decline, but REM was associated with an increase in cognitive function. The N1 stage was a mediator of the effects of PM2.5 on the concentration domain of the MMSE. O3 was associated with an increase in the pars orbitalis volume of the left brain. NO2 was associated with increases in the rostral middle frontal volume, supramarginal gyrus volume, and transverse temporal volume of the left brain, and the pars opercularis volume of the right brain. PM2.5 was associated with increases in the pars triangularis volume of the left brain and the fusiform thickness of the right brain. In conclusion, we observed that air pollution was associated with cognitive decline by mediating effects on the sleep cycle with changes in the brain structure in controlling executive, learning, and language functions in adults.

Valve vegetation is one of the most fearful findings for physicians. The first diagnosis that comes to their mind is infective endocarditis (IE), but it can also be noninfective; nonbacterial thrombotic endocarditis (NBTE). NBTE can be even more challenging than IE for physicians because of the wide range of differential diagnoses such as malignancies, autoimmune disorders and human immunodeficiency virus. A 45-year-old woman presented at the emergency room with a sudden onset of dysarthria and right-sided hemiplegia. Laboratory data showed her blood counts and coagulation test were mostly normal and the magnetic resonance imaging detected a high-signal-intensity change in her left brain. An echocardiogram found a vegetation-like structure on her atrial valve. We highly suspected IE leading to cerebral embolism. The clot was successfully removed by our neurosurgeons and anticoagulation therapy was started concurrently. Her state of consciousness improved, but then she suffered a brain hemorrhage and died. The autopsy revealed that the cause of her vegetation was acute promyelocytic leukemia (APL). Based on these findings, it is important to remember that APL can be the cause of NBTE even if the blood count and coagulation tests are almost normal.

God created humans as the most special creation compared to His other creations. Human intelligence is caused by one organ which, although small in size, has a very vital role, namely the brain. Advances in knowledge and technology have encouraged scientists to try solving the mysteries of the brain. Many studies have focused on the right brain and left brain, or to balance the right brain and left brain. But in recent years, there has been a training/self-development institute who stated that they had found a way to balance the right and left brain, namely by activating the midbrain. This midbrain activation method is aimed at children aged 5-15 years because it is considered that children at this age are more easily activated in a very short time through a computer.The method used in writing this work is a Literature Study that contains various information on matters related to the topic of discussion. In addition to using literature, writing will be complemented by field research, using a Check List to interview respondents. The research approach used are qualitative and quantitative approach. A The qualitative approach obtains data regarding respondent's experiences. This writing has the aim of finding ( knowing ) whether the Midbrain Activation system is in accordance with God's Word or against God's Word; to open the horizons of parents, congregations and even readers of this paper, especially those with children, so that they can be more careful in choosing training for their children.

Divergent thinking and convergent thinking play a very important role in a person's creative thinking process to solve problems and these two types of thinking are related to hemispheric functions that will affect the way a person perceives information processing. This makes research important. The purpose of this study was to obtain a picture of divergent thinking and convergent thinking in the mathematical creative thinking process in terms of brain dominance. The research method used is qualitative with a descriptive exploratory approach. The instruments used were mathematical creative thinking questions, brain dominance tests, and unstructured interviews. The result of this research is that students who dominate the left brain in the creative thinking process are more dominant in convergent thinking, students who dominate the balanced brain in the creative thinking process are balanced in divergent thinking and convergent thinking, while student who dominate the right brain in the creative thinking process are more dominant in divergent thinking.

Starting with Freud and Jung, dreams have always been considered a core source of information for psychoanalysis. Nowadays, neuroscientific findings suggest that dreams are related especially to limbic and right emotional brain circuit, and that during REM stages they engage self-related and visual internally generated processing. These neuroscientific findings together with contemporary psychoanalysis suggest that dreams are related to the sense of self and serve the purpose of re-integrating and re-structuring the integrity of the psyche. However, while dreams are still viewed as ‘the via regia to the unconscious’, it is the unconscious that has been reconsidered. The repressed unconscious seems to be related with left brain activity while the unrepressed unconscious based on dissociation seems to be associated with limbic and cortical areas of the right hemisphere. This notion of the unconscious might be seen as an implicit self-system encoded in the right brain that evolves in the interaction with a primary caregiver developing through preverbal and bodily stages of maturation enhanced by signals of dual communication. What kind of dreams for which unconscious? What are the differences regarding the capacity to dream for neurotic and borderline personality organizations? Our research aims to integrate psychodynamics, infant research, and neuroscientific findings to better understand the role of dreams in the assessment and treatment of, especially, traumatized and borderline patients. The capacity to dream is here proposed as a sort of enacted manifestation of emotional memories for the development of a more cohesive, coherent and symbolic vs fragmented, diffuse and alexithymic sense of self.

The study aimed to identify the level of Meta Cognition thinking and its relationship to dominant patterns of brain dominance among Jordanian university students, and to identify if there were differences in the level of Meta Cognition thinking and brain dominance patterns attributed to variables of gender and college. The study sample consisted male and female students at the academic year 2020/2021, and this sample was taken in a simple random way. Two measures were applied: Meta Cognition thinking, and brain dominance patterns, after confirming their psychometric properties. The results showed that the level of Meta Cognition thinking among Jordanian university students is (high), and that the dominant brain pattern among the study sample is the right pattern, followed by the left and then the integrated, and also there is no statistically significant relationship between the brain dominance patterns and the variables of gender and college, and there is statistically significant differences in Meta Cognition thinking among students with the (left) brain dominance pattern compared to those with the (integrated) brain control pattern and in favor of those with the left brain dominance type.
