This paper presents an attractive force estimation system and an automatic activation system for an electropermanent magnet (EPM) for an inspection UAV. Adsorption to infrastructures for inspection at a distance is extremely difficult to perform safely because the operator cannot detect the state of adsorption of the drone equipped with a magnetic adsorption device. Therefore, in this paper, we clarify the relationship between the magnetic flux density and attractive force of the EPM through experiments, and develop an estimation algorithm for the attractive force based on the results. An automatic activation system, using the induced voltage in the coil when the EPM approaches the magnetic substance, is developed and mounted on a quadrotor for a flight experiment along with the estimation system for the attractive force. The developed system is verified using flight and adsorption experiments on the quadrotor.

Objectives: To identify the optimal factor structure of the behavioral inhibition system/behavioral activation system (BIS/BAS) scales and to examine measurement invariance (MI) of the scales across gender among a sample of Chinese undergraduate students.Methods: Convenience sampling was employed to recruit 1,085 subjects. Participants completed the Chinese version of the BIS/BAS scales. A confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) of competing models was conducted to determine the optimal factor model, followed by a test of MI across gender based on the optimal model.Results: A single-group CFA indicated that the modified four-factor structure fits best in the total sample. Multiple-group CFAs demonstrated that configural invariance, weak invariance, strong invariance, and strict invariance models of the four-factor structure of the BIS/BAS scales were all acceptable.Conclusion: The four-factor structure of the Chinese version of the BIS/BAS scales possesses MI across gender.

Abstract Background Timely recognition of warning signs from deteriorating patients and proper treatment are important in improving patient safety. In comparison to the traditional medical emergency team (MET) activation triggered by phone calls, automated activation of MET may minimize activation delays. However, limited data are available on the effects of automated activation systems on the time from derangement to MET activation and on clinical outcomes. The objective of this study was to determine the impact of an automated alert and activation system for MET on clinical outcomes in unselected hospitalized patients. Methods This is an observational study using prospectively collected data from consecutive patients managed by the MET at a university-affiliated, tertiary hospital from March 2013 to December 2019. The automated alert system automatically calculates the Modified Early Warning Score (MEWS) and subsequently activates MET when the MEWS score is 7 or higher, which was implemented since August 2016. The outcome measures of interest including hospital mortality in patients with MEWS of 7 or higher were compared between pre-implementation and post-implementation groups of the automated alert and activation system in the primary analysis. The association between the implementation of the system and hospital mortality was evaluated with logistic regression analysis. Results Of the 7678 patients who were managed by MET during the study period, 639 patients during the pre-implementation period and 957 patients during the post-implementation period were included in the primary analysis. MET calls due to abnormal physiological variables were more common during the pre-implementation period, while MET calls due to medical staff’s worries or concern about the patient’s condition were more common during the post-implementation period. The median time from deterioration to MET activation was significantly shortened in the post-implementation period compared to the pre-implementation period (34 min vs. 60 min, P < 0.001). In addition, unplanned ICU admission rates (41.2% vs. 71.8%, P < 0.001) was reduced during the post-implementation period. Hospital mortality was decreased after implementation of the automated alert system (27.2% vs. 38.5%, P < 0.001). The implementation of the automated alert and activation system was associated with decreased risk of death in the multivariable analysis (adjusted OR 0.73, 95% CI 0.56–0.90). Conclusions After implementing an automated alert and activation system, the time from deterioration to MET activation was shortened and clinical outcomes were improved in hospitalized patients.

God created humans as the most special creation compared to His other creations. Human intelligence is caused by one organ which, although small in size, has a very vital role, namely the brain. Advances in knowledge and technology have encouraged scientists to try solving the mysteries of the brain. Many studies have focused on the right brain and left brain, or to balance the right brain and left brain. But in recent years, there has been a training/self-development institute who stated that they had found a way to balance the right and left brain, namely by activating the midbrain. This midbrain activation method is aimed at children aged 5-15 years because it is considered that children at this age are more easily activated in a very short time through a computer.The method used in writing this work is a Literature Study that contains various information on matters related to the topic of discussion. In addition to using literature, writing will be complemented by field research, using a Check List to interview respondents. The research approach used are qualitative and quantitative approach. A The qualitative approach obtains data regarding respondent's experiences. This writing has the aim of finding ( knowing ) whether the Midbrain Activation system is in accordance with God's Word or against God's Word; to open the horizons of parents, congregations and even readers of this paper, especially those with children, so that they can be more careful in choosing training for their children.

ABSTRACTSynthetic gene regulators based upon CRISPR-Cas systems offer highly programmable technologies to control gene expression in bacteria. Bacterial CRISPR activators (CRISPRa) have been developed that use engineered type II CRISPR-dCas9 to localize transcription activation domains near promoter elements to activate transcription. However, several reports have demonstrated distance-dependent requirements and periodical activation patterns that overall limit the flexibility of these systems. Here, we demonstrate the potential of using an alternative type I-E CRISPR-Cas system to create a CRISPRa with distinct and expanded regulatory properties. We create the first bacterial CRISPRa system based upon a type I-E CRISPR-Cas, and demonstrate differences in the activation range of this system compared to type II CRISPRa systems. Furthermore, we characterize the distance-dependent activation patterns of type I-E CRISPRa to reveal a distinct and more frequent periodicity of activation.
