This chapter takes a critical look at the changes in the global economic policies within the new neoliberal paradigm. It highlights the relevant literature, starting with its evolutionary academic understanding, the notion of neoliberalism as an economic development model and a political imposition, and finally, the literature focused on its transformational abilities across sectors and boundaries. Such contribution to knowledge would have implications not just for developing nations but policy makers active within the space. Overall, the chapter provides a disaggregated understanding of the current international structure, particularly in light of the new wave of populist movements.

In the context of the implementation of the concept of sustainable development, the business unit activities are interpreted as a three-component system, including the economic, social, environmental segments of the economy. This trend led to the transition to the socio-economic paradigm of financial statements, which predetermines its deep transformations, one of which is to find ways to recognize natural capital and disclosure of information on its influence on the value of the business as a whole.During the study, the author nominated hypotheses: H1 - recognition and accounting of natural capital is imperative in the context of the implementation of the socio-economic development model; N2 - current in the Republic of Moldova (PM) there is no effective methodology for the financial accounting of natural capital, as a factor in the development of the environmental subsystem of the business unit, and their rationale is given according to the scheme: the imperativeness of the institutional platform of the mechanism of business interaction and natural capital is argued when moving to social -Economic development model; The state of the designated institutional platform in the PM is analyzed; A model of recognition of natural capital on the basis of IFRS is proposed; The overall assessment of the RM financial statement system in the context of its compliance of the concept of sustainable development is given.

This study is based on factor analysis in the context of the institutional economy. Content analysis is used in attracting publications on the assessment of financial losses during post-pandemic development.Results. The authors propose an approach to assessing the effects of the pandemic, which include post-pandemic losses and correctional management decisions, including emergency budget decisions. The tools of correctional funding include insurance and non-insurance measures aimed at supporting the population and the business, aggregate supply and demand, consumption and investment. The wave dynamics of the effects of the pandemic are investigated according to the V-cycle, W-cycle, and L-cycle scenario.Conclusions. The need to expand the scope of examination of the economic development model with allowance for the non-economic factor of the coronavirus pandemic in the framework of institutional analysis is substantiated.
Double taxation agreements pose a particular analytical problem. While they provide a coherent structure that encourages cross-border investment, the agreements also provide opportunities for taxpayers to avoid their domestic tax obligations. To prevent tax avoidance, some countries enact domestic general anti-avoidance rules to protect their domestic interests. These rules raise questions as to what the relationship between the domestic law and the double tax agreement is. The Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development’s Committee on Fiscal Affairs provides Commentary on the Organisation for Cooperation and Economic Development Model Double Tax Agreement. This Commentary sets out an analytical framework from which this relationship is to be evaluated. This paper argues that the framework is of little practical significance. The paper concludes that the weight and usefulness of the Commentary lies in a guiding principle set out in the Commentary. Consequently, the wider interpretative approaches do not practically add to the analysis and should be given little weight.

Abstract. The purpose of the study was to generate legal support of the socio-economic development model genesis in post-industrial society. Fulfillment the research purpose requires solving several problems. Firstly, to determine the characteristics, components and directions of socio-economic development in post-industrial society. Secondly, to carry out a theoretical analysis of the basic concepts of socio-economic development transformation and to evaluate them. Furthermore, to determine the priority concept of transformation accordingly to the post-industrial development requirements. Thirdly, to develop the main directions of legal support for the formation of a model of socio-economic development of post-industrial society. Several environmental and economic crises, as well as the need to reconstruct the theoretical model of socio-economic development in post-industrial society, made the study relevant. Accordingly, the study intended to identify priority fields of legal support of socio-economic development model genesis. Based on the results of the evaluation of the basic concepts of socio-economic development transformation, the model of socio-economic development in post-industrial society was formed. Accordingly, the main directions of legal support of these processes were developed. The study provides a theoretical analysis of the basic concepts and components of the model of transformation of socio-economic development. An algorithm was developed and the evaluation of these concepts and components was performed, which allowed identifying the most optimal concept and relevant components. Based on this analysis, a socio-economic development model in a post-industrial society has been developed. The directions of legal support of the process of formation of such model were developed. Keywords: post-industrial society, greening, de-growth, socio-economic development, human capital, Kendall’s method, legal support. Abstract Starting from the determination that the questione meridionale – the southern Italian question – has lost its former centrality in the Italian debate, this article suggests new avenues of research and gives an example of the results that such perspectives can provide. The first section of the article outlines some key positions in the political and historiographical debate on the questione meridionale and identifies the reasons underlying the decline of interest in the history of Italy’s North-South divide in recent years. Based on this analysis, the second part presents new potential prospects for research on the history of Southern Italy, principally by connecting it to recent scholarship in global and international history. The final section of the article applies the proposed research methodology to the specific instance of the Centro studi sullo sviluppo economico, a research centre founded in the mid-1950s to disseminate the Southern Italian economic development model in the Mediterranean and Latin America. The analysis of the history of the Centro studi, born out of a collaboration between the Italian Svimez and the American Ford Foundation, illustrates the ambiguity of the relationship between Italian and American development economists and the way in which the knowledge acquired through economic intervention in Southern Italy became a tool to foster contacts between Italy and other ‚southern‘ countries.
