This activity aims to increase children's learning motivation during the pandemic through the play learning method. In addition, the Physics Education Student Association also carries out social activities such as community service and learning the Koran which is carried out at several points such as the Babussalam mosque which is located in the Tojong-Ojong Sombek hamlet, Selebung Village. This activity also aims to analyze the potential of play learning methods in increasing children's interest in learning in the midst of a pandemic and provide training on physics concepts in water rocket games.

This article was created to identify the effect of the Problem Based Learning model in improving students' critical thinking. The data collection method is in the form of a literature study. This article explains that problem-based learning is a learning model that focuses on students' solving problems in physics concepts. Critical thinking is the student's ability to analyze and evaluate the information received to conclude appropriately. The results of the literature study showed an increase in students' critical thinking skills in the learning process with the Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model. The application of Problem Based Learning has an average increase of about 50% after the learning pattern is applied. The existence of the PBL learning model is effectively used to improve students' critical thinking, which incidentally in solving physics concepts requires the ability to analyze and evaluate to conclude.

During learning from home, the teacher is very limited in giving feedback on assignments. Consequently, students’ understanding of physics concepts is still low and experiencing misconceptions. Therefore, teachers should able to develop an interactive recitation program completed by corrective feedback that could remediate students’ misconceptions. The research objective is to improve the competence of physics teachers at Sijunjung Regency through mentoring in developing an interactive recitation program. This sort of research is quasi-experimental with one-group pretest-posttest design. The research data was obtained from the pretest and posttest about understanding of the interactive recitation programs. The results showed that there was an increase in the knowledge of high school physics teachers in understanding the interactive recitation program with a percentage of 32.4%, and the provision of mentoring activities have a significant effect on increasing the competence of physics teachers in developing interactive recitation programs.

The purpose of this research was to identify physics concepts embedded in moke making process. The research was conducted in Munerana village, Flores Island, East Nusa Tenggara province, Indonesia. The research data were mainly obtained through in-depth interviews and direct observations at the location of moke making process. The results showed that there are physics concepts embedded in moke making process that can be further explored.

ABSTRAKTujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh Model discovery learning terhadap penguasaan konsep dan pengetahuan fisika SMA. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah meta-analisis. Teknik analisis data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan perhitungan nilai effect size untuk setiap artikel. Berdasarkan meta analisis yang dilakukan, dapat dinyatakan bahwa hasil penelitian ini yaitu : 1) pengaruh model discovery learning terhadap penguasaan konsep dan pengetahuan  fisika SMA ditinjau dari tahun terbit artikel memberikan efek yang Sangat Tinggi terdapat pada tahun 2017,2018, dan 2020 dengan masing-masing rata-rata effect size yaitu 1,6; 1,15; dan 1,62. 2) pengaruh model discovery learning terhadap penguasaan konsep dan pengetahuan  fisika SMA ditinjau dari tingkatan kelas memberikan efek Sangat Tinggi terdapat pada kelas XI dengan rata-rata effect size 1,25. 3) pengaruh discovery learning terhadap penguasaan konsep fisika SMA memberikan efek Sangat Tinggi  terdapat pada artikel keenam (J6) dengan  nilai effect size 2,38. 4) pengaruh discovery learning terhadap pengetahuan  fisika SMA memberikan efek Sangat Tinggi  terdapat pada artikel kesepuluh (J10) dengan  nilai effect size 3,95. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh model discovery learning terhadap penguasaan konsep dan pengetahuan  fisika SMA. Kata kunci: Discovery Learning; Penguasaan Konsep; Pengetahuan. ABSTRACTThe purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the discovery learning model on mastery of high school physics concepts and knowledge. The method used in this research is meta-analysis. The data analysis technique in this study uses the calculation of the effect size value for each article. Based on the meta-analysis carried out, it can be stated that the results of this study are: 1) the effect of the discovery learning model on mastery of concepts and knowledge of high school physics in terms of the year the article was published gave a Very High effect in 2017,2018, and 2020 with each the average effect size is 1.6; 1.15; and 1.62. 2) the influence of the discovery learning model on the mastery of concepts and knowledge of high school physics in terms of grade level gives a very high effect in class XI with an average effect size of 1.25. 3) the effect of discovery learning on mastery of high school physics concepts gives a Very High effect found in the sixth article (J6) with an effect size value of 2.38. 4) the effect of discovery learning on high school physics knowledge gives a very high effect in the tenth article (J10) with an effect size value of 3.95. This shows that there is an influence of the discovery learning model on the mastery of high school physics concepts and knowledge. Keywords: Discovery Learning; Concept Mastery; Knowledge.

Physics is often perceived as difficult, but there has been little research on how physics is reported in the media. In this two-stage content analysis, we examine the portrayal of physics in five major Dutch newspapers. Results show that astronomy and astrophysics is the most prominent field. Furthermore, newspaper articles are triggered almost equally by scientific and non-scientific events. Finally, the majority of described physics concepts are framed as difficult, but journalists do provide explanations for them.

Abstract This study aimed to identify and examine the Physics concepts used by victims of the tsunami disaster in Palu City based on the earthquake, tsunami and liquefaction events that occurred on September 28, 2018 in Palu City. This research was descriptive qualitative. Data were collected by observation, interviews and documentation. Based on the results of the study, the researchers found several Physics concepts that were applied when the victims made efforts to save themselves from the tsunami. These findings were discussed and grouped according to the theme of the Physics concept, including: the concept of speed and velocity, Newton’s Second Law Concept, the concept of floating objects, and the concept of waves. The results can be used as a contextual example in learning physics. By doing so, the students will not only learn about Physics concepts, but also improve their understanding and awareness of local disasters.

Abstract This study aims to create a DSSC using PEDOT-Carrageenan-based electrolyte as a learning media for photovoltaic physics concepts. This research was experimental research conducted in the laboratory of subdepartment of physics education, Tadulako University. In this study, DSSC making process used a substrate made from TCO-FTO polymer. The TiO2 photoelectrode layer was deposited using the doctor blade technique and Ruthenizer as a dye-sensitizer and the platinum layer was deposited on the counter electrode using the sputtering technique. Process parameters that affect the characteristics of solar cells were analyzed and measured using the I-V characteristic curve. The samples measured consisted of several types of PEDOT-Carrageenan electrolytes, including Kappa, Lambda and Iota. The results of voltage measurements of each sample of the DSSC prototype were obtained quite well at a voltage of 91.8 mV using PEDOT-Carrageenan Kappa 1:2 electrolyte and the short circuit current obtained reached 57.6 uA. The best solar cell prototype produces an efficiency of 0.0003333728 %. It indicates that DSSC can be made by PEDOT-Carragenan electrolyte and can be used as a learning tool for photovoltaic physics concepts.

Abstract Creative thinking skills are vital in physics knowledge as in physics knowledge equal through investigation arrangements on attentions accomplishment subsequently sensing, articulating difficulties, gathering information, dispensation and seeing information, and concluding. This study drives to enhance Sundanese students’ creative thinking skills on physics by the ICARE model through Rasch Analysis. The investigate technique used a pre-experimental technique with one group pretest-posttest design for ten grade pupils (10 boys and 12 girls) and exploitation Rasch analysis to portion the person consistency with bubble chart and variable wright map. The instrument was based on indicators by Torrance. Informations were composed through pretest and posttest to amount creative thinking skills and person consistency on students. The outcomes displayed that ICARE model influenced creative thinking skills through the middling score of 0.61 characterized as intermediate. It can be decided that ICARE model is one of the erudition models that can stimulus and enhance students’ creative thinking skills on physics ideas.

Abstract The recent studies in science learning has a specific interest with 4C’s which are communication, collaboration, critical thinking and creativity. This study explored the students’ 4C’s as they engage with physics concepts relating to alternating currents. This engagement entails students’ interpretation for descriptive questions. Following action research cycle, the study begin with planning the intervention using “ECRA” technique and conducted the activities with 38 Matriculation College students. The analysis attempt to make a connection between students’ ability to construct representational aspects of scientific description with formative achievement. This study systematically describes students’ understanding on the representations signify in the descriptive questions. Data collected from this study were Work Report, review of answers tutor questions, and interviews during observation stage. The finding suggests that, the ECRA technique is enabling students to obtain higher percentage in formative assessment by allowing them to developed richer conceptual understanding. Hence this study suggest that the representational issues in physics questions constructed in essay can be moderated with ECRA technique.
