Abstract. СVD chromium coatings are evaporated on steel substrate from chrome-organic compounds. For crystallization with forming of nano-particles of chromium carbides, subsequent heating (annealing) of tool steel with hybrid coatings is carrying out. Significant increase of micro-hardness of the coating up to 27000 MPa is observed due to the dispersion strengthening. Optimal annealing parameters (temperature and duration) are determined, which maximally strengthen the coatings and increase their adhesion to the steel substrate.

Schwartz, et al., previously reported calorimetry measurements conducted on a Pu-Pu6Fe mixture, from which they derived a melt enthalpy of 31.2 J/g (46.6 kJ/mol) for Pu6Fe. This was the first—and remains the only—such value to appear in the literature. We reanalyze those results in light of two contributions to the measured heat flow not considered in the original report: the melt enthalpy of the excess Pu and the subsequent heating of the liquid mixture. These corrections yield a revised value of 24.4 J/g (36.3 kJ/mol), which we show to be consistent with the melt enthalpy of U6Fe.

The wetting of Ag-5 wt.% CuO (Ag-5CuO) alloy on initial/CuO-coated zirconia toughened alumina (ZTA) composite ceramic in air was studied in detail. The results showed that the contact angle of the Ag-5CuO/ZTA system rapidly decreased from 81° at 970 °C to 45° at 990 °C during the heating process, however, moderate reductions in contact angle were observed in the subsequent heating and temperature holding stages. In comparison with the contact angle of pure Al2O3, an increment of about 4° of the stable contact angle of Ag-5CuO alloy on the heterogeneous ZTA was observed. The reaction between Al2O3 and CuO can reduce the damage of the CuO-rich liquid to ZrO2 in the ZTA substrate. Both oxygen and CuO were helpful in reducing the contact angle of Ag on ZTA and enhancing the bonding of the Ag/ZTA interface. The continuous CuO coating on ZTA and the monotectic liquid containing more CuO in the region near the triple line induced reductions of more than 40° and about 10° in the contact angle, respectively, between the initial and the CuO coating-improved wetting systems.

Perfluorinated tetrathiacalix[4]arene was obtained by heating perfluoro-m-xylene with thiourea or 2,5-difluoro-4,6-bis(trifluoromethyl)benzene-1,3-dithiol at 90 °C. Interaction of perfluoro-m-xylene with resorcinol or orcinol under mild conditions and subsequent heating of the mixture with 2,5-difluoro-4,6-bis(trifluoromethyl)benzene-1,3-dithiol leads to polyfluorinated dioxadithiacalix[4]arenes. Triphenyl and pentaphenyl ethers formed by the interaction of perfluoro-m-xylene with resorcinol under heating with thiourea gives polyfluorinated oxathiacalixarenes containing six and five aromatic nuclei, respectively.

This case report demonstrates the use of plasma gelas a chin filler. Plasma gel is a material obtained from platelet-rich plasma (PRP) and its subsequent heating in an incubator. It is a safe option in relation to other fillers because it is an autologous biomaterial and therefore with low risk of immunoreaction. The chin was filled in bollus in the central part and with the tunneling technique on the sides. 0.2 mL of plasma gelwere used at each point, totaling 0.6 mL of the biomaterial. The protocol for this case was one session, with a reassessment after 28 days. Plasma gel proved to be effective as a temporary facial filling material. However, studies on its durability are lacking.

Composite nanoparticles composed of anionic phospholipid of 1,2-dipalmitoyl- sn-glycero-3-phosphorylglycerol (DPPG) and resveratrol (Res) were successfully prepared by mixing them in water and a subsequent heating/cooling process. Small-sized DPPG-Res nanoparticles (<60 nm) could be prepared by ultrasonic fragmentation. Upon addition of size-controlled fluorescently labeled Res (FLRes) nanoparticles stabilized with DPPG (DPPG-FLRes) to rat skin tissue, FLRes molecules infiltrated into the epidermis layer permeating stratum corneum.
