Whenever one thinks of the World War II, the image of dark menacing panzers cutting deep swathes into enemy forces comes up to the mind. No amount of interpretation and overinterpretation can belittle the extraordinary role-played by the panzers in World War II. Similarly, despite the presence of numerous good works by various historians and introduction of exotic methodologies, Professor Dennis Showalter’s place in the world of academic writings on World War II can never be marginalized. The present article humbly attempts to highlight one aspect of Professor Showalter’s research: history of tanks during the World War II. This essay has two sections. The first section evaluates Showalter’s three works dealing with armour during the World War II. In the next section, the present author, inspired by Showalter’s works on armoured war, attempts to recount the evolution of armoured branch in the Indian Army until the end of World War II. Indian tank units, as this article argues, played a crucial role in the capture of Meiktila and the subsequent ‘Race to Rangoon’.

The 17 Sustainable Development Goals officially come into force upon the signing of 193 countries arranged by the United Nations, and the time duration for achieving the goals is 2030. In view of the goals, this study redefines the process of 6 SDGs: (1) no poverty; (2) zero hunger; (3) quality education; (4) gender equality; (5) peace, justice, and strong institutions; and (6) partnership for the goals. The signing countries are not legally bound to achieve the goals. It comes into force as gentlemen commitment. For the purpose of study, secondary data, bulletin, papers, articles, holy books, and in-depth interviews with some experts based on open-ended questionnaires have been taken. Upon analyzing the study, the authors found that to achieve the SDG competition for good works understanding that work is worship, sharing prosperity in terms of monetary and non-monetary aspects like knowledge with poor and marginal people, truthfulness in education with opportunity for all, building mindset for treating all genders as human, transparency and justice from court as well as social leaders, trust among all stakeholders in enterprise, corporation, society, and state are essentially required. The study has also shown that happiness comes to mind when a person can pay for others. These will also be supportive for achieving all other SDGs.

Islam nusantara is present as a thought based on the history of the ancestors. The influx of Islam in Indonesia is clearly not through conquest, colonization, or warfare, but through the inner rooms of religious and cultural relations through the benefit of trade, marriage, civility, and cultural practices.  It is no wonder that nusantara's legacy has been created by sanad scientists, literature, audio compositions, cultural traditions and architecture. Everything becomes a separate color in the islamic khazanah region.  Why is that? Because in the nascent fragment of the islamic discourse there has always been a posturing attitude: tawassuth (moderate), tawazun (fair), tasamuh (tolerant), I 'tidal (upright, consistent, istiqamah), amar ma 'ruf mungkar, proposes of good works, prevent all that devalues humanity.

The article is about the emergence, growth and development of AIC Kapsowar Mission Hospital, the hospital that was central to the development of Kapsowar town since its establishment in 1934. The hospital was so iconic in the sense that it opened Marakwet District to the rest of the world. The hospital created employment opportunities for Kenyans who flocked the town in their thousands in search of jobs. Kapsowar which was once a frontier town transformed into a medical town making it display many signs of prosperity. However, it was not easy for the Africans living in Kapsowar to let go of their lands. They had to fight back and protect what according to them was given to them by their deity ASIS. Among the Marakwet, land was communally owned and its use was decided by the community elders. Individuals did not own land as the sole owners but the land was in the custody of clans. This factor made it very hard for the missionaries to acquire land to establish the mission hospital when they first arrived at the place. The locals were only convinced after a series of successful surgeries were conducted by the mission doctors and that was when they allowed them to settle in their land. That move marked the beginning of a new civilisation among the Marakwet. Many women began to visit the hospital for child delivery, and child mortality rate reduced drastically owing to the good works of the mission doctors. All the good things brought about by the mission Hospital including the development of the town, employment opportunities, improved infrastructure among others notwithstanding, challenges never seized to hit the Mission hospital and the latest challenge was posed by the outbreak of the novel corona virus in 2020 causing a lot of fear and panic to both the doctors and the patients.

Pakistan is an Islamic country and has been established in the name of Islamic ideology but rape and murder of innocent children and ladies, like Zainab presents a very ugly and obnoxious image of this Muslim nation. This research has been done to find the gender issues and feminine injustice in Pakistani press news reports from Critical Discourse Analysis viewpoint in light of teachings of Quran. It is said in the Quranic text: وَمَنۡ يَّعۡمَلۡ مِنَ الصّٰلِحٰتِ مِنۡ ذَكَرٍ اَوۡ اُنۡثٰى وَهُوَ مُؤۡمِنٌ فَاُولٰٓـئِكَ يَدۡخُلُوۡنَ الۡجَـنَّةَ وَلَا يُظۡلَمُوۡنَ نَقِيۡرًا “and whoso doeth good works, whether of male or female, and he (or she) is a believer, such will enter paradise and they will not be wronged the dint in a date- stone”. This research study is done to explain, what Quran says about gender issues and women injustice, using out press statements, images, and columns taking from both in English and Urdu languages newspapers, namely the Dawn and Express. The statements are taken during the week, after happening of brutal episode i.e. from 8 January 2018 to 14 January 2018.Inspiration of this project is created in the background of Zainab’s sexual abuse and gruesome rape, which happened in first week of January 2018. Initially the teachings of Quran, gender issues, feminine injustice and media discourse are explained briefly because injustice with ladies and children have been growing very rapidly since previous two decades in Pakistan. Then the significance of research is highlighted. This research is carried out in the paradigm of qualitative approach. Non probability purposive sampling technique is adopted for sample selection from selected newspapers. Van Dijk CDA model has been implemented for data analysis of the research, but keeping in view the hypothesis of the study the selected points are discussed only.
