Abstract Adverse life events precede the onset of functional neurological disorder (FND, also known as conversion disorder) more commonly than other neuropsychiatric conditions, but their aetiological role is unclear. We conducted a systematic review and quantitative analysis of the type, timing and number of life events preceding the onset of FND in adults, and a meta-analysis of the proportions of types of events in controlled studies. Fifty-one studies of different designs, covering 4247 patients, were eligible for inclusion. There was no clear majority of any type of preceding event. Family problems were the most common category of events, followed by relationship problems. Females were more likely to experience preceding family/relationship problems than males, who reported more work problems. Family problems were the commonest type of preceding event in studies in developing countries, whereas family and health problems were equally common in developed countries. Abuse was associated with early symptom onset, while patients with later onset were more likely to report family problems. The median number of events was one, and the events occurred closer to onset than in controls. Meta-analysis found that family, relationship and work events were all relatively more common in patients than pathological controls, as were events where symptoms might provide a solution to the stressor. In conclusion, although a range of events precede the onset of FND, they do not appear to do so uniformly. This may support a different aetiological role for stressors than in other disorders, although the support is indirect and the quality generally low.

This paper wants to study in deep one of the existing services to help and to improve the parent-son’s relation: the “child contact centre”. This centre is a place where children can meet their parents after different family problems, from parental conflicts until violence and abuses. It’s very important that each child could have the possibility to continue to live with his family as reported by the “UN Convention of childhood and adolescence’s rights” (1989). The history of these meeting centres is very recent and, in the same way, also the role of the social workers. For this reason, research of peculiarities of this place and the rules of the operators involved is very important. In particular, the history moment where we are living today with the “Covid-19” spread all over the world, has caused many problems in the families and it has compounded family situations already compromised. The choose of this theme is also born from the need of study in deep the organization and the functioning of a child contact centre. This is one of the services most complex and heterogeneous and that’s why even today again it doesn’t exist one guideline that is the same in each contest. Finally, the paper wants to describe this service and, mostly, it wants make some proposals about the best practises or operations that could improve it.

The aim of the study was to examine the sources of stress that students experienced during the COVID-19 pandemic with respect to gender and change of residence, as well as the relation between specific sources of stress, depressive symptoms and self-rated academic functioning. The study included 923 students aged 19 to 28 (73 % females). The students completed the Stress Source Questionnaire, the Academic Functioning Questionnaire, and the Depression, Anxiety and Stress Scale (DASS-21). Four groups of stress sources have been identified. The consequences of isolation represent the strongest stress source, followed by academic stress, the possibility of infection, and family sources of stress. Females experience all sources of stress more intensely than males, and students who changed their residence experience family problems and the consequences of isolation more stressfully than students who live continuously in their families. All sources of stress, except possible infection, are significant predictors of depression, while depression is a significant additional predictor of students' self-rated academic functioning after controlling for gender, change of residence, and sources of stress. The consequences of isolation, as a source of stress, have the strongest effect on depression and self-rated academic functioning.

This article explores various dispute resolution mechanisms, assessing how they can be utilized so that one can develop some rational criteria for allocating various types of disputes to different dispute resolution processes. With the development of administrative law, the delegation of certain problems to specialized bodies for initial resolution has become a commonplace. Within the judicial sphere, too, specialized courts have been developed to handle family problems and tax problems, among others. While the mediation-arbitration model is useful, another device that bears further utilization is the screening-adjudication model. Ultimately, the article advocates for a flexible and diverse panoply of dispute resolution processes, with particular types of cases being assigned to differing processes, according to some of the criteria.

As the most beautiful gift as well as the mandate of Allah SWT. as well as considering the child's position in family, community and state life, children must get the best protection in their development process, including through granting children's rights to a living. Several laws and regulations in Indonesia define a living as meeting the material needs of children. Such a definition raises various problems in the pattern of child protection and the formation of the benefit of families in Indonesia. This study aims to describe the redefinition of livelihoods in child protection efforts and the formation of the benefit of families in Indonesia. This research method uses normative legal research with a philosophical and statutory approach and uses a prescriptive analytic method. The results show that in the pattern of child protection and the formation of family welfare in Indonesia, children's livelihoods must be defined as meeting children's material needs so that children can survive and as fulfilling children's immaterial needs so that children can improve their quality of life.
