Time management for a student in the higher learning institutions is a very important matter. It has a significant impact on academic performance and co-curriculum, including social interaction. There are two important activities that involve student time management on university campuses which are related to attendance of lectures and co-curricular activities. Delay or not showing to such activities can lead to a fall of student performance in the university. One of the causes of this delay is due to the inefficient of bus transportation system on campus and the objective of this study is obtain what is the perspective of students towards the issue. Therefore, this study was conducted in a quantitative technique to discover the students’ satisfaction based on two constructs, namely reliability and time management. A total of 500 undergraduate students answered the survey questionnaires provided via Google forms sent via email and WhatsApp application. The study data were analyzed with Microsoft Excel and SPSS software and the results were translated into a satisfaction index value from zero to one. The results directly showed that students were dissatisfied with the two constructs with a value of 0.42 for time management and 0.49 for reliability.

Due to its low fares, public bus transportation as a means of urban road mobility is a popular choice, particularly among city inhabitants. However, owing to its high level of crowdedness, it poses a greater risk of security and safety, particularly during peak hours. Moreover, passengers have continued to voice their dissatisfaction about the services offered, as well as the criminality that occurs in the station and on the bus. The problem is exacerbated in developing countries due to increased travel demand and a lack of appropriate and integrated solutions. Consequently, the purpose of this study is to evaluate commuters' perceptions of their concerns about using public bus transportation in the city, with an emphasis on security and safety in bus operations. A questionnaire survey was used to obtain data from 500 users in the city for the study. Using the SPSS software, the data was analyzed. To find out what they think, a descriptive analysis was used. Overcrowding of buses, personal insecurity, and infrequent bus service are the three biggest concerns in using public bus transportation in the city, according to the results. Furthermore, most of the respondents were concerned about crime; specifically, pickpockets, inappropriate touching, and disrespectful language of drivers and conductors are the three top types of crime that concern passengers who use public bus transportation in the city. Additionally, most people felt more insecure while riding the bus and getting on/off the bus, particularly in the evening and between 9:00 and 12:00 p.m. local time. Thus, it is advised that the Addis Ababa City Transport Authority, the Public Bus Transport Enterprise, and other interested parties place a strong emphasis on security and safety when providing public transportation in the city. Furthermore, it is critical to perform regular victim surveys of passengers (as well as operators) to establish whether they have been criminally victimized on the bus system and by what type of crime. Equally important, regularly assess the likely usefulness of new crime prevention measures for reducing bus-related offenses and prepare an annual bus crime reduction strategy.

Bus transportation is the essential mode of public transportation available for intra-district movements in India. The planning of different stages of bus transportation planning is usually done in an ad-hoc manner on the basis of the experience of the operators. For a rational design of the bus transit system, it is essential to take into account the objectives of different interest groups. Selection of an appropriate network structure is an essential part of the planning process. In this paper, a model developed for generating a number of alternative network structures using link deletion concept is presented. One of these alternatives can be selected on the basis of the trade-off between the user and operator objectives. The model has been applied to a case study of bus transit network of Visakhapatnam region in Andhra Pradesh.

Building on the debate about global convergence or divergence of practices, this study aims to query the viability of a new strategic action tool specifically geared to the interests of public bus transportation authorities (PBTA) around the globe and explore the degree of homogeneity in their responses as well as the possible drivers of them. To answer its research question, the study first offers a generic business model design for a PBTA, which integrates an extended version of the business model canvas with external environmental factors in order to enhance its sustainability. Subsequently, the importance attributions of international transportation experts to different model components are evaluated by using the Spherical Fuzzy AHP method. The model is developed in three hierarchical layers and evaluated by experts from four continents: America, Asia, Australia, and Europe. The results indicate that the expert opinions tend to converge more on the internal components of the model and diverge on the external components, especially regarding economic and technological factors. A strategic response action set is also designed to facilitate the adoption of the model by PBTA. The study not only extends the research on the strategic management of the public bus transportation domain but also contributes to the convergence and divergence debate by offering a reconciliatory duality perspective.

Public bus transportation has become an integral part of society, but the disrup-tion of bus services is one of the major concerns. This project presents the devel-opment of Smart Bus Transportation using Augmented Reality (TRANSPAR) that was developed on a mobile application. One of the major issues with public transportation is on real-time responsiveness. Most bus schedules are presented online but customers still faced many failures. Some bus schedules are not updat-ed when changes happened through time. Some existing bus schedules system is fixed to the bus stations. This research is to identify the bus schedules and its routes characteristics. A 3D AR animation based on identified characteristics was designed using the Unity 3D image marker detection on a mobile Android plat-form. A smartphone application was developed using Vuforia and Google Fire-base. TRANSPAR shows an AR mobile application for acquiring the bus time-tables. The phone camera is applied for marker image detection and scanning the bus station’s images. AR and normal image scanner were designed. Google Fire-base Database is used to retrieve and store each timetable data for every bus sta-tion. Analysis of interactivity and benefits of TRANSPAR shows about 90% agreed on the use of AR and more than 76% agreed on its functionality based on 50 taken samples. This shows a positive impact on the designed TRANSPAR. The research is significant to encourage and experience the public with new tech-nological application for public transportation and it impact the society.

This research deals with applying the Dijkstra algorithm and Welch-Powell algorithm to on-campus bus transportation problems. This research aims to determine the optimal solution of campus bus transportation routes in the shortest routes and schedules. In determining the fastest way, each intersection represented as a node, and the path described as the sides. The shortest path obtained    V1 - V2 - V5 - V8 - V9 - V10 - V13 - V16.  In determining the optimal schedule, the number of buses represents the vertices, and the time expresses the side that connects each node. The optimal program of the bus starts from 06.30 am to 5.00 pm. Every bus gets four sessions of departure and four sessions return with travel time each session is 60 minutes.

Bus transportation performance must be able to demonstrate safety performance capabilities, one of which is the condition of the vehicle. Therefore, to achieve bus vehicles' safety performance, research must be carried out to determine the causes of accidents. This study aims to determine the causes of accidents related to vehicle conditions. Some of the variables that are observed include brake, wheel, equipment, stability, and worthiness. The data collection method used is to collect secondary data on the incidence of accidents from each Resort Police Office in each district traversed by the intercity public bus route. The roads traversed by the public bus transportation routes between the cities that are the object of the study include Sidoarjo Regency, Pasuruan Regency, Probolinggo Regency, Mojokerto Regency, Madiun Regency, and Ngawi Regency. The analytical method to obtain mathematical modeling is to use Principal Component Analysis (PCA). The results show that five factors analyzed, four main actors, cause intercity bus accidents, namely brakes, wheels, stability, and worthiness. The four factors are interrelated with each other, where these factors support each other and trigger accidents and obtained a mathematical model of the factors causing the accident which can be explained by two mathematical equations, namely PC1=0.61X1+0.70X2+0.46X3+0.63X4+0.72X5 and PC2= 0.47X1 0.17X2+0.76X3 0.26X4+0.31X5. The study results also illustrate that accidents caused by an inappropriate wheel are always followed by a breakdown of the braking system that is not functioning properly, and the wheel system consisting of wheel and brake conditions will be a problem triggering the accident
