Image inpainting plays an important role in restoration of cultural relics, pictures beautification. Criminisi algorithm creates good results in large-area inpainting. However, it does still have some deficiencies such as over-extending. In this paper, two improved algorithms based on prior knowledge of the boundary had been proposed by simulating the idea of manual repairing. An algorithm, by simulating the strategy that the next inpainted pixel will be near to the prior one, named nearer neighbor first algorithm, can void the random bounding of the to-be-inpainted pixle. Another algorithm, by simulating the strategy that the inpainting process, named no-inpainted first algorithm, will be in multiple directions, can void the inpainting process in a single direction. The results reveal that the neighborhood-first algorithm performs better than Criminsi algorithm in repairing the missing structure while the unrepaired-first algorithm performs better than Criminsi algorithm in repairing the missing texture.

Taro Village is one of the tourism villages that has the oldest history in Bali. This Taro Tourism Village is an old village in Bali that is rich in stories and cultural relics of the past. The existence of this village is closely related to the visit of a sacred person in the past from East Java to Bali around the 8th century. This Taro Tourism Village has green and beautiful nature. The cool air and the trees make the atmosphere shady. As well as residents' houses with the characteristics of traditional Balinese houses. Besides enjoying the natural atmosphere, the tourist village of Taro also has many cultural values that can be an interesting source of knowledge for visitors to the tourist village. However, along with the development of the times, the Taro Tourism Village began to experience a setback because of the many other tourist attractions that offered new "experiences" for tourists. so it requires the need for new packaging of tourism activities while still using religious culture and beautiful nature as the main components.

The smart museum is a new platform for the appreciation and display of cultural relics across time and space. In the era of 3D scanning technology, computer technology, and network technology, it is necessary to deeply study the smarter and more perfect forms of smart museums. This article, through the analysis of the characteristics of the display level of the smart museum, tries to create a new humanized and intelligent display of cultural relics.

Abstract Precious organic cultural relics are easily affected by temperature, humidity, and harmful gases in the environment, resulting in embrittlement, fading, mildew, moth damage and other aging forms. An energy-saving and environmentally friendly material is needed to stabilize humidity and adsorb harmful gases in the environment. In this paper, with an intelligent adjustment function, functional paper containing sepiolite and tourmaline natural minerals was successfully prepared. The component of 80 % of wingceltis and 20 % of straw in dry pulp as main raw material was conducive to the desorption of water molecules. As favorable structure inside functional paper, the adsorption point and the adsorption contact area increased by the rough surface of fiber bundles, the addition of sepiolite and the ordered molecular chains of copolymers destroyed. So, the relative humidity could be adjusted to 55 % ± 3 within 2 hours and was stable with functional paper. At the same time, 1.11 ppm sulfur dioxide and 2.98 ppm ammonia could be effectively adsorbed in 10 and 12 h, respectively, by 1 g of paper in a 5 L container. The pH of the paper was adjusted to neutral with tourmaline, even if the pH was changed by acidic or alkaline gas absorption. Therefore, for long-term organic cultural relic preservation, preparing a constant-humidity and clean environment is of great significance. This is possible through this paper.

Abstract Hunan Provincial Institute of Cultural Relics and Archaeology excavated at the site of Sunjiagang during 2016–2018 after 33 earthen pit tombs were uncovered in 1991. It yielded 192 pit tombs and one urn burial along with a number of pottery vessels and jade artifacts. The whole cemetery was laid out with a clear pattern of spatial arrangement, organized in an orderly style. A unique burial practice prevailed in the cemetery, for which the deceased was laid upon a layer of grave goods. According to the typology of unearthed pottery vessels and jade artifacts, the cemetery at the Sunjiagang site dates sometime from 2200 to 1800 BCE. It represents a new local variant of the Xiaojiawuji culture, and thus can be named the Sunjiagang type culture.

As the main carrier of cultural inheritance, paper cultural relics are easily affected by the microorganism and external environment. In order to protect paper cultural relics, in this paper, traditional Chinese medicine A and sodium carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC) were prepared into a multi-functional mixture solution to use for antibacterial and reinforcement of paper relics. The antibacterial effects of the A on Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus were studied through the single factor experiment. The minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) of A and the concentration range of A-CMC for paper reformulation were determined. The results showed that the MIC values of A to Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus were 0.2 mg/ml. The optimal ratio of the composite liquid is 0.8% CMC concentration and 0.2 mg/ml A. Under this condition, the paper has a good bacteriostatic effect. This showed that the traditional Chinese medicine A can be used as an antibacterial agent for paper. Keywords: Traditional Chinese Medicine A, bacteriostasis, CMC, paper properties.

The archeological sites are a heritage that we have gained from our ancestors. These sites are crucial for understanding the past and the way of life of people during those times. The monuments and the immovable relics of ancient times are a getaway to the past. The critical cultural relics however actually over the years have faced the brunt of nature. The environmental conditions have deteriorated the condition of many important immovable relics over the years since these could not be just shifted away. People also move around the ancient cultural relics that may also deform these relics. The machine learning algorithms were used to identify the location of the relics. The data from the satellite images were used and implemented machine learning algorithm to maintain and monitor the relics. This research study dwells into the importance of the area from a research point of view and utilizes machine learning techniques called CaffeNet and deep convolutional neural network. The result showed that 96% accuracy of predicting the image, which can be used for tracking human activity, protects heritage sites in a unique way.

AbstractPaper cultural relics such as double-sided printed newspapers and periodicals represent modern cultural heritage. Severe damage such as embrittlement, decay, and dreg generally occur to paper; hence, it urgently needs conservation and restoration. Therefore, herein, a new reinforcement method for the fragile double-sided printed paper cultural relics is proposed with cotton mesh and adhesive PVA217 as reinforcement materials. Using a computer measured and controlled folding endurance tester, a pendulum tensile strength tester, pH meter, pulp viscosimeter, and other instruments, the physical properties of newspaper samples before and after aging were evaluated. In addition, the mechanical properties, chromatic aberration and surface morphology of simulated samples before and after the cotton mesh reinforcement and Japanese washi paper reinforcement were assessed. The experimental results indicate that this new reinforcement method could effectively improve the physical strength, chromatic aberration and durability of the simulated samples. Widespread applications of this cotton mesh reinforcement method for the reinforcement and protection of the red revolutionary cultural relics such as double-sided printed newspaper and periodicals during the Republic of China era are foreseeable.
