This study aims to examine the organizational communication control strategy carried out by the Purwokerto Branch of the Islamic Student Association (HMI) to demonstrate the Ratification of the Job Creation Bill (Omnibus Law). The method used is descriptive qualitative using organizational control theory as a theoretical framework. The results showed that the involvement of the Purwokerto Branch of HMI in the Omnibus Law demonstration was a critical intellectual movement that arranged forward a constitutional approach. The simple control aspect is implemented through a three-layer communication mechanism. The solidarity of members towards the three layers of communication constructs communication conduct harmoniously. HMI uses two technical tools for technical control, specifically communication aids and internal identification tools as non-verbal symbols of the organization. There are strict controls to identify members in the demonstration through the symbol. Regarding bureaucracy, this organization prioritizes communication with local authorities regarding the fulfillment of formal rules before holding a demonstration. In addition, organizational procedures are also carefully considered, especially regarding consolidating the organization’s internal communications. Conservative control is implemented by strengthening interpersonal communication with active members or alumni networks spread across various professions. The organizational communication control strategy of the HMI Purwokerto Branch focuses on the harmonization of demonstrations that prioritize aspirational and implementation communication by emphasizing a constitutional approach.

Background: Over the course of the pandemic, many countries have repeatedly closed schools and shifted students to remote learning. However, evidence for negative mental and physiological health consequences of such measures for students is increasing, highlighting the need for evidence-based recommendations on how to safely reopen schools. This study presents experiences when implementing opt-in, at-home SARS-CoV-2 screening using rapid diagnostic tests (RDTs) to facilitate safe face-to-face-teaching during a pandemic. Methods: We present data form a prospective study implementing an RDT-based screening program at a primary school in southwest Germany. We conducted qualitative in-depth interviews with participating children, parents, and school stakeholders to elicit implementation experiences and screening perception. Results: The screening intervention was highly accepted and appreciated among participants; no positive RDT was reported over the duration of the study. Self-testing at home before coming to school was feasible, but more positive consequences of screening participation (e.g., easing of mask mandates) besides a personal feeling of safety would be appreciated. Participants preferred home-based RDTs over some other measures, particularly mask mandates. Despite the RDTs being licensed as self-tests in Germany, additional training can help avoid mistakes, and ensuring intervention ownership and improving pre-implementation communication can facilitate buy-in. Conclusions: Ag-RDT-based SARS-CoV-2 screening programs relying on self-testing at home proved feasible and accepted among primary school students, parents, and school staff who participated in this study.

Abstract Purpose The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic has created unprecedented challenges for health systems around the world. We describe our approach to adapting the pharmacy leadership structure to address critical medication shortages through innovative data analysis, procurement strategies, and rapid implementation of medication policy. Summary Yale New Haven Health deployed a system incident management command structure to effectively respond to the COVID-19 crisis. System pharmacy services adopted a similar framework to enable efficient communication and quick decision-making in key domains, including drug procurement and policy. By refining a model to project health-system medication needs, we were able to anticipate challenges and devise alternative treatment algorithms. By leveraging big data and creating a system knowledge base, we were able to consolidate reporting and coordinate efforts to ensure system success. Various procurement strategies were employed to ensure adequate supply, including frequent communication with our wholesaler, sourcing direct from suppliers, outsourcing of sterile products compounding to registered 503B outsourcing facilities, and acquisition of active pharmaceutical ingredients for compounding of essential medications. Strategic positioning of pharmacists within the health system’s incident command response teams and rapid adaption of drug use policy governance fueled accelerated response and nimble implementation. Communication was streamlined and executed via multiple outlets to reach a broad audience across the health system. Conclusion With medication shortages posing a threat to patient care, dynamic pharmacy leadership proved essential to providing patient care at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. System alignment and the rapid adaption of the existing framework for drug shortage management and medication use policy were crucial to success in crisis response.

Management of public communication plays significant role in a government. The implementation of well-made management of public communication can be a means to deliver government policies both as programs and achievements broadcasted to public. The purpose of this study was to determine the implementation of communication policy management at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM). The method used was a case study at the ESDM with analysis implementation by using used Edwards III model. Based on the analysis, it was found that the implementation of the public communication management policy at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources was already underway, such as the availability of a planned public communication strategy, and indicators of success in the mass media which were not only numerous but also positive and neutral quality, so that negative coverage could be minimized. Besides, the support of Officials and Implementers, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), and creative content through hashtags related to the Energy and Mineral Resources sector could also increase the social media followers. Programs aimed at implementing change in organizations regularly experience high failure rates. Exploring resistance to change is one promising way to better understand what might be done to improve these rates. Resistance to change has often been envisioned as employee noncompliance with one-way change messages. This study instead conceptualizes resistance as an interpretive system between implementers and employees. The project developed a grounded typology of the interpretive structures that employees and implementers used to interpret others’ behaviors as resistance or not. Four frames (or cognitive schema) that guide resistance interpretations were identified: (a) disagreeability, (b) protecting role performance, (c) conflicting stakes, and (d) habitual environment. Analyses examined patterns in these frames. This work develops a map of resistance frames that researchers studying resistance to change, communication campaigns, and implementation communication will find useful.

Purpose Without effective implementation, no information technology (IT) strategy can succeed. There has been much re-search into IT planning, but few studies have developed one of the most important phases of IT strategy: IT Implementation. IT implementation can be improved at information and communication technology (ICT) organizations through the use of organization learning models (OLM) and the implementation of ICT tools. This paper has two purposes define an OLM framework that determines the best practices to increase knowledge at individual, group and/organizational levels, and define and implement an ICT tool to facilitate the integration and institutionalization of the OLM. The ICT tool is based on the technology roadmapping technique that allows an organization to manage at an executive level what, when and how the IT strategy is going to be implemented. Design/methodology/approach This paper is based on a case study performed at an ICT organization that provides ICT services to financial institutions. The study was carried out in 2014. It analyzed over 24,000 projects, which translated into an equivalent of more than 18 million man-hours. The proposal was assessed at a very large ICT organization. Findings This paper proposes a framework called SPIDER to effectively implement OLMs based on Big Data management principles for monitoring and reporting current status of IT innovation strategies. These kinds of approaches contribute to solve the problems identified in the state-of-the-art regarding the communication and monitoring the implementation status of IT innovation strategies. During this research work, several factors that are essential to implement these kinds of approaches in large banking organizations were identified: effort required to elaborate the monitoring and reporting activities; easiness to understand the reported information; detailed planning of the implementation program; and focus on communication efficiency. Originality/value This paper determined the best practices to manage knowledge generated during the implementation of an IT strategy. Additionally, this paper defined and implemented an ICT tool to properly communicate and monitor the implementation of an IT innovation strategy, based on technological roadmap techniques.
