The introduction of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) into the human population represents a tremendous medical and economical crisis. The immune system plays a central role in protecting against this novel virus. This activity aimed to empower young generation using participatory learning and action approach to improve their knowledge about medicinal plants that grow in Indonesia and whose anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, immunomodulatory, and antiviral properties. Organoleptic test results showed that Kunyit Asam (consisted of turmeric and ginger) and Tealang (consisted of butterfly pea and lemongrass) were highly favored by panelists. Our results provide valuable information on the medicinal plants used as an immunity booster within the studied community.

Abstract Purpose: This activity aimed to add, improve, and sharpen participant's skills, develop the creativity of elementary school children, and increase their productivity during the pandemic Method: Participatory Learning and Action (PLA) approach was utilized by assessing community involvement and interest in Creative Media Class's programs. Results: As a result of this activity, participants have gained new skills such as a better understanding of how they create creative content. Not only that, but they also know about ethics in social media. Making posters/flyers / Instagram post formats and video blogs are distributed through the official social media Media Creative Class, Instagram: @medikraf and their own. Conclusion: To develop student creativity for their skills, Media Creative Class helps them optimize technology for a solution to social distancing regulations.

Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat (PKM) ini diselenggarakan di Desa Mopaano Kecamatan Lasalimu Selatan Kabupaten Buton, penyelenggaraan pemerintahan desa di Desa Mopaano mengenai sistem administrasi desa sesuai dengan aturan perundang-undangan, serta belum memanfaatkan teknologi komputer, ini dikarenakan sumber daya manusia perangkat desa belum optimal. Metode yang digunakan adalah pendekatan Participatory Learning And Action (PLA) atau proses belajar dan praktik secara partisipatif. Output dari pengabdian ini ialah perangkat desa mampu menggunakan aplikasi komputer dan mempunyai keterampilan dalam mengelola administrasi desa agar tercapainya perangkat desa yang tertib administrasi.

Abstrak: Ujian Kompetensi Keahlian (UKK) Nasional merupakan langkah pemerintah dalam meningkatkan keterampilan siswa Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan (SMK) hingga nanti menjadi salah satu penentu kelulusan siswa. Untuk membantu siswa dalam mempersiapkan UKK Nasional, SMK PGRI Pangkalpinang memberikan pelatihan yang berfokus pada peningkatan motivasi dan skill siswa dalam bidang multimedia. Kegiatan pelatihan dilaksanakan dengan metode Participatory Learning and Action (PLA) dimana partisipasi aktif dari siswa sangat diharapkan. Hal ini sesuai dengan fungsi PLA yang mengutamakan partisipasi, yang dapat berupa diskusi. Nantinya hasil diskusi inilah yang dijadikan acuan sebagai materi pengajaran kepada peserta. Kegiatan terdiri dari tahapan pra kegiatan, tahapan pelaksanaan kegiatan, dan tahapan evaluasi kegiatan. Tugas berupa simulasi UKK Nasional juga diberikan untuk mengetahui kesiapan siswa. Di akhir kegiatan juga diberikan survei post test untuk mengetahui tingkat keberhasilan kegiatan ini. Dari 10 pernyataan yang diberikan didapat nilai rataan sebesar 4,15 yang berarti siswa telah memahami materi yang diberikan dengan baik.Abstract: The National Skills Competency Examination (UKK) is one of government efforts to improve the skills of Vocational High School (SMK) students and become one of students' determinants of graduation. To assist students in preparing for the National UKK, SMK PGRI Pangkalpinang provides training that focuses on increasing students motivation and skills in the multimedia area. The training activities are conducted using the Participatory Learning and Action (PLA) method, where active participation from students is highly expected. This is in accordance with the PLA's function which prioritizes the participation, which can be held in the form of discussion. The results of this discussion will be used as a reference as teaching material to participants. The activity consists of the pre-activity stage, the activity implementation stage, and the activity evaluation stage. Assignments in the form of a National UKK simulation were also given to determine student readiness. At the end of the activity, a post-test survey was also given to determine the level of success of this activity. From the 10 statements given, the average value is 4.15, which means the students already understood the given material.

The aim of the community service activiy is to increase farmers’ knowledge and income in diversiying soybean processed products. This activity was carried out in Marga Mulya village, Rantai Rasau district, Tanjung Jabung Timur regecy which held from June until December 2019. The method used in this activity is giving education to society through the process of learning and implementation participatory (participatory learning and action), stages taken are; counseling on post-harvest technology for soybeans, practicing and implementing of making flour and soybean powder alongside with its processed products and enhancing packaging. Evaluation had done in the beginning of activity, the evaluation criteria are the number of attendance and the percentage of how active the member of farmers group in each stage. The result of this community service activity shows that most (80%) of farmer group partner undestand and able to use soy processing tool and also to create variety of soybean processed product. It shows the increment of PKM business in achieveing diversiying processed soybean products, increaseing of processed production and product resilicence, as well as rising added value of processed soybean products.

Pandemi global membawa perubahan tatanan pada sektor perekonomian dan kehidupan sosial masyarakat. Kecamatan Konda (Sulawesi Tenggara) merupakan sentra UMKM disektor perdagangan hasil tanaman pangan, perkebunan serta industri olahan bahan makanan (BPS Konawe Selatan, 2019). Daerah ini merupakan rantai nilai utama dalam penyediaan bahan pangan, artinya warga desa yang berkarakter semi-urban sangat rawan dalam rantai penyebaran virus. Ruang intervensi pemerintah daerah hingga di level desa dalam pencegahan dan penanganan dampak Covid-19 dilakukan melalui refocusing dan realokasi anggaran termasuk dana desa. Tujuan dan output kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat untuk membantu menyusun rencana pembangunan desa yang mengintegrasikan risiko ekonomi (kelangsungan usaha masyarakat desa) akibat pandemi Covid-19. Metode yang digunakan adalah Participatory Learning and Action. Hasil analisis situasi sosial melalui metode survei lapangan terdapat keterbatasan kemampuan aparatur desa menyusun rencana pembangunan jangka menengah desa (RPJMDes) serta anggaran  pendapatan desa (APBDes) dalam upaya memitigasi risiko bencana dalam kondisi pandemi Covid-19. Fokus pembangunan desa pada infrastruktur seperti pengerasan jalan dan duiker sedangkan fasilitas kesehatan masih minim. Kegiatan dilakukan melalui knowledge sharing dan pelatihan penyusunan rencana anggaran pembangunan desa yang diikuti oleh aparatur dari 15 desa.

AbstrakTujuan dari kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah memberdayakan dan meningkatkan kapasitas masyarakat desa tentang administrasi pengelolaan program; b).Meningkatkan pengetahuan masyarakat desa tentang sistem pemasaran terpadu; c).Mendorong peningkatan pemahaman kesadaran masyarakat terhadap KUKM. Output yang ingin dicapai dari kegiatan ini adalah meningkatnya kapasitas ekonomi masyarakat melalui pemberdayaan kelembagaan KUKM sebagai instrumen ekonomi masyarakat yang dibentuk secara swadaya. Metode kegiatan yang digunakan adalah Metode kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat yang digunakan adalah gabungan dari dua metode pemberdayaan masyarakat yaitu Participatory Rapid Appraisal (PRA) atau penilaian desa secara partisipatif dan Participatory Learning and Action (PLA) atau proses belajar/praktik secara partisipatif. Hasil kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat berjalan sesuai dengan rencana yang telah ditetapkan, masyarakat memilki respon dan antusias terhadap pelatihan dan terciptanya derajat perubahan pengetahuan, sikap dan keterampilan dengan besaran nilai  67,14 dan 62,50 atau berada pada kategori cukup.Kata kunci : kapasitas ekonomi, kelompok usaha kecil

Geospatial-qualitative methods, which combine both observation and interpretative accounts during data collection through extended exposure and movement in place, have been increasingly used to explore “person–place” interactions and assess communities of place. Despite their increased use, there is a lack of reflexive discussion on how they differ in capturing person–place interactions and ways to combine them. Drawing on our experiences using three related methods—Photovoice, Walking through Spaces, and interactive Participatory Learning and Action exercise-led community focus groups—we compared the methodological advantages that each method brings to the construction of “place” and in exploring person–place interactions among the community of older adults living in a neighborhood of Singapore for a neighborhood assessment. We then illustrated how using a Focus–Expand–Compare approach for methodological triangulation can add value in generating greater depth and breadth of perspectives on a topic of interest explored for intervention development.
