PurposeThe study attempts to understand the factors impacting the financial wellbeing of IT employees in India using confirmatory factor analysis (CFA). It utilizes well-established survey instruments to assess the impact of financial literacy, financial behaviour and financial stress on financial wellbeing. The study also attempts to understand the role of demographic factors (age, gender, monthly income, job category and work experience) in determining financial wellbeing through multigroup analysis.Design/methodology/approachStructured equation modelling (SEM) is used to study the link between the determinants. The study also attempts to understand the role of demographic factors (age, gender, monthly income, job category and work experience) in determining financial wellbeing through multigroup analysis. Data used for the analysis covers 237 employees working in the IT sector.FindingsWhile financial literacy and financial behaviour have a significant positive impact on financial wellbeing, financial stress has a significant negative impact. Financial behaviour and financial stress were found to have a mediating role in the relationship between financial literacy and financial wellbeing. The demographic variables significantly moderate the relationship between the factors leading to financial wellbeing.Originality/valueThe results show the need for financial wellbeing programs to focus on enhancing financial knowledge and improving financial planning. Further, it suggests offering customized financial wellbeing programs based on the employee's demographic characteristics rather than following a “one program, fits all” approach.

This study investigates the impact of intermediary and seller trust on consumers' repurchase intention and electronic word-of-mouth (e-WOM) intention. A total of 337 consumers with online-buying experience were surveyed using a self-administered questionnaire. For the research purpose, a model was developed and tested using the PLS-SEM technique. In this instance, trust in a competent intermediary is formed on perceived benevolence and integrity. The moderating roles of demographics and purchase frequency were tested using a multigroup analysis. The results strongly support the research model, indicating that: (1) trust in competent intermediaries has a significant influence on consumers’ repurchase and e-WOM intention; (2) trust in consumer electronics (CE) sellers has an influence on repurchase intention but not e-WOM intention; and (3) age, gender positively affect the trust transference process, while purchase frequency affects e-WOM intention. This research presents new theoretical and managerial implications for online electronics marketing.

The role of entrepreneurs in attaining Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) is paramount. Entrepreneurs with strong awareness and commitment to sustainable development help to attain almost all SDGs, as they create businesses that will help employment, eliminate poverty, provide decent work and economic growth, help to reduce hunger, assist in attaining good health and wellbeing, help to achieve affordable and clean energy, and enhance their industries. Realizing the importance of entrepreneurs and entrepreneurship, the government of Malaysia has taken proactive actions to develop and inculcate the entrepreneurial mindset through entrepreneurship education at higher education. This study aims to apply the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) to analyze the effect of an entrepreneurship course on entrepreneurial intentions of the engineering students at Universiti Teknologi Petronas, as entrepreneurial intention is effective in predicting behavior. A quantitative technique and descriptive cross-sectional study have been employed to collect data. The result of this study indicates that the TPB explains and predicts the entrepreneurial intention. However, the Multigroup Analysis (MGA) results show that attending the entrepreneurship course does not increase the strength of the relationship between the exogenous and endogenous construct compared to those who do not attend the course. The results of this study raise a positive implication toward the improvement of the course curriculum and the teaching pedagogy. An in-depth qualitative study to understand the issue will help to improve the curriculum and pedagogy of entrepreneurship education, and eventually enable a realization of the government’s aspirations.

Objectives: This study aimed to analyze the longitudinal relationship between maternal parenting stress (MPS), warmth parenting (WP), and children’s aggressive behavior (CAB) in early childhood across income levels. Methods: An autoregressive cross-lagged model was used to assess the mothers and children of 723 families from the Panel Study on Korean Children across the sixth (age 5), seventh (age 6), and eighth (age 7) waves, and bootstrapping was conducted to examine the mediation effects. Further, a multigroup analysis was performed to assess the model’s hypothesized relationships for the low-income and middle-income groups. IBM AMOS 23.0 and SPSS Statistics 26 were used to analyze the data. Results: The results are summarized as follows: First, MPS, WP, and CABs remained unchanged over time. Second, MPS had a significantly negative impact on later WP, and WP negatively affected later MPS. Third, prior WP had a significantly negative impact on CAB. Furthermore, the relationship between MPS and CAB was mediated by WP. Lastly, during the study period, the multi-group analysis found no significant differences in the autoregressive cross-lagged model between the two income groups (the low-income and middle-income groups). Conclusion: The findings revealed that MPS reduced WP, which exacerbated CAB. By illustrating the link between MPS, WP, and CAB, it was highlighted that educational interventions for mothers to minimize parenting stress are likely to have a positive influence on children’s aggressive behavior. More implications are also discussed as a result of these findings.

The development of entrepreneurial activities helps in realization of multiple goals of sustainable development. This study aims to inspect the applicability of the entrepreneurial intention model (EIM) to explain entrepreneurial intention in different cultural contexts. A survey was conducted using the Entrepreneurial Intention Questionnaire. Based on 535 valid responses received from business students in India (N = 285) and Saudi Arabia (N = 250), the model was analyzed using the partial least square regression method. The results show that the EIM is validated for the combined sample (R2combined = 0.522) as well as for the individual samples (R2India = 0.644; R2Saudi = 0.412). Demographic variables and human capital variables were found to impact the entrepreneurial intention differently in the combined sample and the individual samples of the two countries. Multigroup analysis was performed to test if the country variable influences the hypothesized paths in the model. The results of the multigroup analysis show that many of the hypothesized relationships (gender-personal attitude; gender-subjective norm; gender-perceived behavioral control, role model-subjective norm, role model-perceived behavioral control, subjective norm-personal attitude, and subjective norm-entrepreneurial intention) are significantly different in the two countries. This study addresses the gap in comparative international entrepreneurship (CIE) research by testing the applicability of EIM in two different cultures. The findings are also significant for policymakers at both national and international levels for facilitating entrepreneurship.

The objective of this paper is to study the relationship between memorable tourism experiences and destination sustainability. Three hypotheses that relate dimensions of sustainability (economic, socio-cultural, and environmental) to memorable tourism experience are considered, based on a review of the literature. A questionnaire designed for that purpose was administered to 1034 tourists who stayed at five rural and sun and beach destinations in Spain. A multigroup analysis with a structural equation model was conducted to establish the differences between both destination types. The results show that destination environmental sustainability influences the memorable tourism experience, though significant differences between rural and sun and beach destinations have been detected. Age plays a moderating role: the younger the tourist the greater the influence of sustainability on memorable tourism experiences.
