The creation of new age refrigerants might be the answer to the issue of an Earth-wide rise in temperature. Hence, while choosing new refrigerants a careful process is required. The general effect of any refrigerant substance on global warming, energy efficiency, ozone depletion, cost-effectiveness, chemical stability, and safety ought to be assessed. This paper sums up the experimental and numerical investigations directed with the globally accepted R1234yf refrigerant. The paper’s principal points are to assess the capability of the hydro-fluoro-olefin (HFO) refrigerant mainly R1234yf utilized in the refrigeration system (vapor compression systems, domestic refrigeration system) and to explore its utilization as an eco-friendly refrigerant. In the vapor compression refrigeration system, the cooling capacity and coefficient of performance of R1234yf are found to be less, 9% and 11%, respectively compared to that of R134a. But the power consumption of the system with R1234yf increased between 1.6% and 6.7% when compared to R134a. This paper likewise assists with recognizing the gap in the past research works and explores the possibilities for additional works.

Since the intake of fruits and vegetables displays important effects on the incidence of several chronic diseases in humans, consumers’ attention worldwide is focused on the identification of functional foods. In this sense, Ugni molinae (murtilla or murta fruit) is an important source of molecules with a strong antioxidant capacity that is widely used as a medicinal plant in Southern Argentina-Chile. Research on murtilla berries showed that this fruit and its leaves can be an excellent source of polyphenols and bioactive compounds with antibacterial and antioxidant capacity. This review is aimed at providing valuable information and discussing the available literature focused on four principal points: (i) fruit quality and plant physiology, (ii) compound content with bioactive properties, (iii) health properties for consumers of the fruit and leaves, and (iv) challenges for future research. Based on these four points, we propose that murtilla fruit can be a potential ingredient for new functional food products.

AbstractAs an exercise in the ‘theology of disclosure’, the present essay proposes a kind of phenomenological analysis of the act of reading the Bible as Scripture with the goal of bringing to light the theoretical commitments which it implicitly demands. This sort of analysis can prove helpful for the continuing disputes among Protestants, Catholics, and Orthodox insofar as it is relevant for one of the principal points of controversy between them: namely, the relationship between Scripture, Tradition, and Church as theological authorities. It proceeds by analyzing both the objective and subjective ‘poles’ of the act, and it illuminates the presence of the Church and her Tradition on both sides. The Church—i.e., the community of God’s people—is both that which is immediately encountered in the text, as well as the factor which enables scriptural reading in the first place. The article terminates with an application of the insights of the preceding discussion to the controversy about icons.

The subject of the study is the penal legislation of the post-Soviet countries. The following research methods were used in this article: general scientific such as analysis and synthesis, systemic-structural, formal-logical and specific scientific - comparative-legal, linguistic, axiological. The study was conducted on several criteria (parameters), reflecting various aspects of the right of convicts to walk. Among these are: localization of the statutory recognition of this right, the relationship between walking and physical exercises in the open air, the duration of the walks, the time and place of their holding, the increase in the time of walking as an incentive, and the possibility of early termination of the walk in case of violation of the established rules by convicts. The following research results were obtained - principal points of the right of convicts to walk in penal institutions of the CIS are based on the provisions of the CIS Model Correctional Code, and, except for the Moldovan Executive Code, are virtually identical. On the contrary, the regulation of walks in the Codes (laws) of the other three countries of the post-Soviet territory (Georgia, Latvia, and Estonia) is very different from the CIS Codes and each other. Certain provisions of Correctional Codes of post-Soviet countries deserve attention and additional study as possible additions to the Correctional Code of the Russian Federation. Such aspects include the inclusion of the right to physical exercise as the basic right of convicts, as well as the possibility of physical exercises in the open air during walks; a guaranteed minimum duration of the walk for all categories of convicts, including violators, as a general rule.

The review presents the basics of quantum decision theory, with an emphasis on temporary processes in decision making. The aim is to explain the principal points of the theory. How an operationally-testable, rational choice between alternatives differs from a choice decorated by irrational feelings is elucidated. Quantum-classical correspondence is emphasized. A model of quantum intelligence network is described. Dynamic inconsistencies are shown to be resolved in the frame of the quantum decision theory.

This paper provides a brief synthesis of the evidence and principal points of discussion concerning the indigenous languages of ancient Sicily. Traditionally, three indigenous languages (Sikel, Sikan, and Elymian) are identified in use in Sicily in the period between the seventh and fourth centuries BCE. The evidence is extremely fragmentary, and its study is additionally complicated by the absence of up-to-date systematic collection of the material. The evidence is listed and the key points of linguistic and graphic discussion are presented. The traditional separation of Sikel and Sikan had already been challenged in existing scholarship; this paper suggests, in line with recent work, that the existing assumptions about the separation of Elymian also deserve to be challenged, and that the traditional assumptions about material and/or ethnic cultural boundaries on the island are potentially misleading.
