In recent years, many studies have been conducted to reconstruct the physical properties of scalar fields by establishing a connection between some energy densities and a scalar field of dark energies. In this paper, using the extended five-dimensional (5D) Kaluza–Klein model, we establish a correspondence among modified holographic dark energy and the tachyon, K-essence and dilaton scalar-field models. We also graphically illustrate the evolution of the equation-of-state parameter versus time.

Convergence of the identification algorithm applied to the mutual inductance of the induction motor A new observer of induction motor state variables is proposed in the paper. A nonlinearity of the main magnetic path is expressed as a function of a properly chosen parameter versus the position vector length. The value of the mutual inductance received in the identification algorithm is calculated exploiting the estimated values of the state variables. The coefficients appearing in the differential equations of the observer system are modified in each step of the algorithm on the basis of the calculated mutual inductance. The analysis of convergence of the identification algorithm is shown in this paper.

This paper deals with Gd-doped ceria solid solutions: Ce1−XGdXO2−d with "x" ranging from 0 to 0.2. Four different powders were synthesized by modified glycine nitrate procedure with very precise stoichiometry according to tailored composition. The method was modified by decreasing glycine/nitrate ratio to 0.5. All obtained solid solutions exhibit a fluorite-type crystal structure with composition dependent lattice parameters. The variation of the lattice parameter was studied and correlated with the equation describing the ion-packing model. It has been found that the change of lattice parameter versus Gd concentration obeys Vegard's rule very well. Results also show that all powders are nanometric in size. The average size of Ce1−XGdXO2−d particles is about 20 nm.

ABSTRACTFollowing recent works that report a non linear dependence of the lattice parameter versus composition in some semiconductor alloys the InGaAs/InP system has been investigated. The lattice parameter and the composition of InGaAs/InP lattice matched heterostructures have been independently determined by measuring the high resolution X-ray diffraction profile and the absorption of the X-ray beam diffracted from the InP substrate. In contrast with previous results that stated a linear dependence of the lattice parameter with composition, a 6% larger In content in the InGaAs/InP lattice matched alloy is found. Such result has been confirmed by the analysis of the X-ray fluorescence induced by an electron beam on the layer and on standards made of InAs and GaAs fine ground crystals. The result is in good agreement with the predictions of models based on the elasticity theory applied on a microscopic scale.
