In this digital era, information and communication technology has made enormous progress, making it easier for people to interact through social media. One of the most widely used social media applications is Instagram. This study aims to find the ratios found on social media Instagram. These ratios can later be used to perform analyzes that can be measured mathematically. The research method used is exploratory to find the variables contained in Instagram. These variables will be juxtaposed to be tested for relevance so as to find the relevant ratio used to assess the performance of an Instagram account. The results of this Instagram social media research show that there are 14 ratios that can be used to assess, measure and compare the credibility of an Instagram account. The implication of the discovery of this ratio is that further researchers can conduct quantitative research in measuring, assessing and comparing accounts on Instagram.

Instagram is a social network that was born from a company called Burbn, Inc. which was founded on October 6, 2010. The company was founded by Kevin Systrom and Mike Krieger who currently serve as CEOs of Instagram. Instagram is a photo and video sharing application that allows users to take photos, take videos, apply digital filters, and share them on various social networking services owned by Instagram itself. One of the unique features on Instagram is that it looks like a photo into a square shape, so you can see the results of the Kodak Instamatic and Polaroid cameras. This study aims to determine the ratios contained in social media Instagram. These ratios can later be used to perform analyzes that can be determined mathematically. The research method used is exploratory to find the variables contained in Instagram. These variables will be tested, so that relevant ratios can be found to be used to assess the performance of an Instagram account. The results of this Instagram social media research show that 14 ratios that can be used to assess, measure and compare come from an Instagram account. The implication of finding this ratio is that further researchers can conduct quantitative research in measuring, assessing and comparing accounts on Instagram.

As social media has shifted from traditional to modern technical patterns, organizations have sought to take advantage of the presence of beneficiaries on social networks. They may serve customers, display ads, and respond to queries on social media accounts such as Twitter. The implementation of these services required a scientific study considering: (1) how to attract beneficiaries, (2) attraction times, and (3) measurement of the impact of that attraction. This study aimed to address these three points through an analysis of data from an educational organization’s Twitter account. We found that the interaction rates with tweets increased in the evening, and we identified the best times for the organization to reach more followers. We examined five months of data (an entire semester), analyzing thousands of tweets and their associated impressions, types of responses, integration ratio, and account usage. We also discovered that the quality of tweets had an impact on attracting new followers, particularly when tweeting media such as photos, videos, and other types of content. Finally, this research serves as a resource for educational organizations on new ways to publish accounts and foster organizational growth through electronic media.

With the development of online commentary research, scholars have tried to tap into the deeper value of online commentary from the analysis of sentiment analysis, quality evaluation, false comment recognition to the usefulness of comments. Previous studies have focused on online product reviews while news reviews. Social media research has been relatively rare. social media and news commentary contain readers' opinions and evaluations on current events, and reflect the trend of public opinion. The purpose of this paper is to investigate and analyze the intrinsic link between social media content of different type and the number of commentaries, and sentiment analysis.

The Social Media Research Network was co-founded by Chantelle Roulston and Akash Shroff in August 2021 with the support of Dr. Jessica Schleider and the Lab for Scalable Mental Health (LSMH). Since 2018, LSMH has been recruiting adolescents and parents using social media—primarily Facebook and Instagram. As of September 2021, our social media presence has reached 1.4 million people across the world. More than 35,000 individuals have interacted with our posts and messages and more than 6,000 youth, young adults, and parents have completed our single-session interventions. We wanted to share our current success and improve our processes by forming a collaboration of psychology/adolescent development research labs. The SMRN Social Media Toolkit is designed to consolidate social media experiences and suggestions from various labs into a useful document for others to use. This is by no means an exhaustive list of social media platforms and suggestions. We have limited the toolkit to include the use of Facebook and Instagram, owned and trademarked by Meta Platforms, Inc.. Instagram and Facebook encompass a very large audience (diverse in age, location, and race/ethnicity). The platforms have a lot of overlap and have been successful in research efforts for the authors. This toolkit outlines broad concepts of branding, post design, and post management. It also provides details, suggestions, and tips on how to create an account, gain a following, increase engagement, and more on both Facebook and Instagram. . Lastly, it details the process of using paid Facebook and Instagram advertisements for research purposes (i.e., recruiting participants). The ultimate goal of SMRN is to increase collaboration across research groups so that we can leverage the entire network’s social media presence to improve recruitment, science communication, and outreach efforts for all research groups involved. We hope this document will serve as a preliminary guide for the research groups within the network.

Abstract Background Despite the increased use of social media to share health-related information and the substantial impact that complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) can have on individuals’ health and wellbeing, currently, to our knowledge, there is no review that compiles research on how social media is used in the context of CAM. The objective of this study was to summarize the research on how social media is used in the context of CAM. Methods A scoping review was conducted to investigate how social media is used in the context of CAM, following Arksey and O’Malley’s five-stage methodological framework. MEDLINE, EMBASE, PsycINFO, AMED, and CINAHL databases were systematically searched, in addition to the Canadian Agency for Drugs and Technology in Health (CADTH) website. Eligible articles had to have investigated how at least one social media platform is used in the context of a single or multiple types of CAM treatments. Results Searches retrieved 1714 items following deduplication, of which 1687 titles and abstracts were eliminated, leaving 94 full-text articles to be considered. Of those, 65 were not eligible, leaving a total of 29 articles eligible for review. Four themes emerged from our analysis: 1) social media is used to share user/practitioner beliefs, attitudes, and experiences about CAM, 2) social media acts as a vehicle for the spread of misinformation about CAM, 3) there are unique challenges with social media research in the context of CAM, 4) social media is effective in delivering CAM-related therapy and information. Conclusions This scoping review is the first, to our knowledge, to provide a descriptive analysis of the literature regarding how social media is used in the context of CAM. In addition to social media being a useful tool to share user/practitioner beliefs, attitudes, and experiences about CAM, it has shown to be accessible, effective, and a viable option in delivering CAM therapies and information. Social media has also shown to spread a large amount of misleading and false information in the context of CAM. Additionally, this review highlights the challenges with conducting social media research in the context of CAM, particularly in collecting a representative sample.
