In the passenger transportation segment, there is a trend towards door-to-door travel planning. This direction, which is relevant in the world practice of passenger transportation, with a correctly proposed approach, can also be used in the cities of the Russian Federation. The use of a multimodal method of passenger transportation together with MaaS technologies in case of maximum involvement of carrier operators will allow passengers to significantly reduce travel time and find a way to reduce travel costs.Sophisticated logistics of commuter rail transport routes for all time periods will attract additional passenger traffic, increasing the profitability of passenger traffic. The conducted research on the example of the transport-interchange complex of the city of N showed the possibility of organizing a passenger's trip "from door to door" with minimal costs and maximum comfort. The passenger railway company receives direct profit from this service, which makes it possible to recoup the project in a short time. Conclusions are made about the dependence of the profitability of the bus fleet on the number of seats, distance and popularity of the route direction. The organization of additional services on the territory as close as possible to the places of embarkation and disembarkation of passengers will increase the attractiveness of the transport and interchange complex for the passenger traffic of N.

Justification of management decisions for railway companies, under the conditions of the transport market liberalization, requires the search and collection of reliable information which is related with both the internal and external environment. Alongside, the need to provide competitiveness of the railways involves marketing research. The main objective of this paper is to determine the specific features of applying marketing tools for promotion of competitiveness and formation of the railway company’s strategy. The dynamics of passenger traffic reflects the competitiveness of types of transport in terms of the ability to provide transport services for a better ratio of “price / quality”. The performed researches confirm the presence of opposite tendencies in the long-distance and suburban connections, as well as specific factors of elasticity of demand for passenger transportation at a price. It is established that for the population (the consumer of transport services) the rate of tariffs for transportation is the determining factor of the attractiveness of the carrier in suburban transportation, and therefore it is the factor of its competitiveness, while the rate of tariffs is not the most significant factor in choosing a carrier in long distance transportation. There are subjective technical parameters of competitiveness which do not fit into the “price / quality” system among the factors of choosing a carrier. During the choice of transportation, the consumer is guided by his own system of values which is not universal and leaves each transport company its “niche” for operation in the market as well as the opportunity to win its “own” consumer. Models of forecasting demand for passenger long-distance and suburban transportation by railway and automobile transport are proposed on the basis of forecast of macrofactors. The using of these models will allow railway and automobile companies to form their development strategies.

The relevance of optimization of the Berezniki public transport route network is caused by an annual growth of city routes length, particularly, by the enlargement of bus routes and the uneven distribution of passenger traffic. The paper determines methods of optimization of public city passenger transport for the current transport demand. On the example of development of the Berezniki route network the authors have analysed the topology of routing and the city cartogram. On the basis of the study results they have proposed measures on the optimization of the route network for the public city transport. The novelty of the study is in the use of algorithms and methods of optimization of transport systems developed by the authors at conducting design and research works in the cities of the Russian Federation — Perm, Ekaterinburg, Samara, Kurgan, Yoshkar-Ola and Simferopol.

The article considers organisation of transportation services for passengers with public transport followed by their quality assessment in conformity with the requirements of the social standard. The objective of the article is to determine quality of passenger transportation by a municipal passenger enterprise with buses of large and medium capacity and by individual entrepreneurs carrying out transportation with minibuses. The article uses reporting materials on transportation of passengers by municipal and private carriers. To achieve the purpose, quality indicators of passenger transportation by public transport were calculated using the methodology of the social standard approved by the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation. The number of points for each indicator defined by the social standard for municipal carriers and individual entrepreneurs is determined, the results of relevant calculations are presented. The analysis of quality of passenger transportation services provided by municipal and private carriers was carried out. The quantitative characteristics of quality indicators values made it possible to determine the current state of passenger transportation services, identify shortcomings and make a forecast for improving quality of services. To improve quality of passenger transportation services, measures were proposed for bodies responsible for transportation and carriers.

The article examines the institutional process in a regional economy connected with the infrastructure development. We use the neoinstitutional approach to study factors that influence the behavior of government and business in their interaction in the economy. We also use statistical methods to analyze the dynamics of socio-economic development indicators of the subjects of the Russian Federation as well as the results of measures to attract private investment into infrastructure, including the PPP. We chose the city of Moscow and the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District as two empirical case studies which differ in economic and geographic conditions, but both demonstrate success in attracting private investment and implementing infrastructure projects. Our conclusions are consistent with a theory that asserts the primacy of institutional environment in relation to project implementation. We make also some practical recommendations for the development of the institutional environment which are acceptable for all regions solving similar problems of infrastructure development.

The San Francisco Bay Area has an existing commuter rail system that brings commuters from southern regional communities into the downtown city center. One of the communities served by commuter rail service is the City of Palo Alto, CA, which includes four active grade crossings, each requiring train horn sounding for each train event. The City wished to evaluate various options to eliminate the noise generated from horn soundings by creating road/rail grade separations at each existing grade crossing and other possible noise and vibration control elements. The alternatives included crossing closures, rail bed trenching, viaducts, roadway underpasses, and tunnels. A noise and vibration study was undertaken to provide an analysis of which alternatives would provide better reductions in noise and vibration in the surrounding community. The study included an assessment of existing noise levels and predicted future noise and vibration levels for construction and operation of each proposed alternative using current established noise and vibration methodology. The results of this study included comparisons of the noise and vibration associated with each of the of the proposed alternatives that could be used in conjunction with other studies considering cost, traffic, safety, aesthetics and other factors to select an overall preferred alternative.

The peculiarities of organization and perspectives of mass passenger transportation in the city and beyond are considered with the use of "Bus Rapid Transport" (BRT) or Metrobus. Different aspects of study of motor vehicles (MV) controllability and stability are analyzed. It is substantiated that it is sufficient to consider the potential stability of the MV itself, in order to guarantee the stability of the "driver MV" system with a large reserve. A mathematical model of a three-axle bus train consisting of a bus and two trains (metrobus) is developed and the factors influencing the critical speed as the main index of the stability of its movement are determined. It is established that the increase of the critical speed of the metrobus can be achieved by increasing the base of the bus, the first and the second trailer, as well as the mass of the bus and the coefficients of resistance of the drive wheels of the bus driving axle and the trailers axles. At the same time, increasing the distance from the mass center to the bus rear axle, increasing the distance from the mass center to the point of the coupling of the bus with the first trailer, increasing the mass of trailers and the resistance of the resistance of the wheel drive of the bus axis lead to a decrease in the critical speed of the metrobus. This must be taken into account both when designing metrobuses, and when operating them.

The HIV epidemic has been going on for nearly thirty years, it is a heterogeneous, dynamic and highly resistant to countermeasures. The Leningrad Region and the city of St. Petersburg today are referred to the most affected regions of the Russian Federation, as nearly 1% of the population of this city has HIVpositive status. Despite the decline in the HIV infection incidence of the resident population of the Central District, the epidemiological situation for HIV infection remains to be tense, due to the increase in the cumulative number of HIV-infected and AIDS patients, the increase ofthe morbidity rate and mortality in co-infected patients with HIV/tuberculosis, activation of the output of the epidemic in vulnerable groups into the general population. At the same time, a cohort of HIV-infected patients with a high risk of late detection of tuberculosis continues to form

Introduction. In the Russian Federation there is a constantly updated register of infections associated with surgery and the treatment of oncological diseases reporting which is mandatory. Massive expenses and detriment to patients’ health caused by these infections prompted the authors to run a retrospective epidemiological analysis of the morbidity registered in the population of the city of Kazan during the period under review. This paper presents a study of patterns of the emergence and spread of nosocomial infections. This study aims to examine the clinical and epidemiological characteristics of infections associated with surgery and the treatment of oncological diseases registered in the population of the city of Kazan.Materials and methods. Authors analysed the Emergency Notifications for an Infectious Disease (form 058/u) as well as the data from the Rospotrebnadzor Federal Statistical Record Form №2. The paper presents the morbidity annual dynamics, structure and spatial characteristics and describes key pathogens of HAIs.Results and discussion. On the basis of the data obtained the authors give clinical and epidemiological characteristics of the annual dynamics of the morbidity characterised by recurrent rises during the year with the top incidence in the autumn. Neonatal PSI infections dominate the HAIs incidence structure (52.8%). St. aureus is the priority HAI pathogen (26.5% of cases) in the city of Kazan.Conclusion. Microbiological monitoring of emerging HAIs is an efficient tool for managerial decision making and the development of an algorithm for anti-epidemic measures in the departments and the hospital as a whole for the reduction of risk of infection.

In the crowded cities of the present age, public spaces can provide a quiet area away from the hustle and bustle of the city that citizens can interact with by incorporating utility features and meeting human needs and Relax there. Small urban spaces are among the most important and effective urban spaces to achieve this goal. Because these spaces due to their small size and lower costs (compared to larger spaces) for construction can be created in large numbers and distributed throughout the city. In this way, citizens will be able to reach a public urban space on foot in a short time. If these spaces are well designed, they can encourage people to stay in and interact with each other. It is not difficult to identify and experience high-quality successful places, but identifying the reasons for their success is difficult and even more difficult, understanding if similar spaces in other places can be considered successful. This question is important because public space with deep social content is considered a cultural product. Public space is the product of the historical and socio-cultural forces of society. Therefore, one of the most important issues that should be considered in the study of public spaces and the reasons for their success is the cultural context. In Iranian cities that have been influenced by the values and principles of Islam, recognizing Islamic principles and their role in shaping public spaces can lead us to desirable results. The purpose of this article is to develop a conceptual model of successful small urban spaces with an emphasis on cultural issues, especially in Iranian-Islamic cities. In this regard, the effective criteria for the success of urban spaces in general and small urban spaces in particular in the two categories of Western countries and Iranian Islamic cities were examined and then, taking into account the criteria derived from cultural theorists, the conceptual model of research with 38 subcriteria is provided.
