As more and more attention is paid to the formation of models of new service development, it is noticed that the compositions of a new model are usually based only on examples of previous models that were presented in the scientific literature. Although the practical application of the proposed models in any organizational condition is often verified by empirical studies, the revisions of the validity of model compositions are still quite fragmented. The lack of such research does not give the possibility for any further improvement of the model or elimination of the revealed shortcomings and it makes the proper preparation for testing the proposed model in a company complicated. In order to evaluate the suitability of the composition of the newly formed model of service development in the conditions of modern service companies, an empirical evaluation was performed by using the methods of abstraction, comparative analysis, synthesis, and expert survey. According to the results of the research, the suggestions for the improvement of the new service development model were made and guidelines for further research were formulated.

Risk management is one of the important areas for implementation of any project and more precisely in the education sector. The conceptual research on risk management in projects within education sector is one of the key focus areas, which helps in identifying the circumstances leading to actualization. The outcomes that can arise while establishing a risk management framework in education projects can reduce the chances of effective reduction of risks. This requires a leading approach like categorization of risks to implement the same. Furthermore, in the perspective of modern educational risk management, rationality leading to risks formulates the effective risk handling process in a methodical and organizational condition. The outcome of risk management can favour the creation of effective and efficient risk management models along with strategies in the sphere of education. The present research study focuses on helping the educational employees into designing, planning, implementing, monitoring and evaluating the educational projects at various levels of the organization in order to manage the risks associated with it.

PurposeThis study proposes and tests a model grounded in resource-based theory to describe how the formal rules embedded in an organization's green human resource management (GHRM) combine with informal cues communicated by members of the firm's upper echelon, including the CEO and members of the top management team (TMT), to affect a firm's environmental performance.Design/methodology/approachMulti-source data were collected from 240 human resource managers, chief financial officers and CEOs in 80 firms.FindingsThe results show that CEO ethical leadership moderates the positive relationship between GHRM and TMT green commitment, which in turn mediates the relationship between GHRM and firms' environmental performance.Originality/valueThe tested importance of CEO ethical leadership as an organizational condition that amplifies the effectiveness of strategically aligned HRM systems offers new theoretical insights to advance HRM scholarship.

This study investigated the role of a particular organizational mechanism called categorical matching—that is, the matching of a functional category (employment status) to a social category (gender) in organizations’ allocative processes. Using large-scale employer-employee matched data, we attempted to identify the organizational characteristics that are susceptible to categorical matching and the impacts of categorical matching on the gender wage gap. We found a significant association between the degree of categorical matching and the bargaining power of female workers net of the other organizational characteristics. Moreover, we found that the residual gender wage gap is larger in establishments that engage in more extensive categorical matching. Regardless of employment status, female workers experience greater wage penalties when they work in workplaces that match men to standard jobs and women to nonstandard jobs. These findings shed light on the importance of organizational processes in producing the gender wage gap and help explain the remarkably high gender wage gap in Korea.

The purpose of this study was to examine social media adoption within not-for-profit sport organizations to illuminate the impetus for change, the type of change undertaken, and change resistance. Using a contextualist approach depicting the external and internal forces as well as the change process, semi-structured interviews were conducted with ten Canadian national sport organizations (NSO) representing varying degrees of social media presence. The findings suggest that, although social media is espoused as a radical, transformational vehicle, NSOs have only made incremental adjustments to their stakeholder communication and have situated social media within their extant organizational condition due to capacity constraints and resistance from staff and reticent stakeholders. Adopting social media in light of limited organizational capacity thus diminishes the utility of the communications tool. Theoretical and practical implications include how to improve social media-related capacity and the importance of continuing the social media and sport domain’s organizational theory agenda.
