The use of the RGB-D camera has been applied in several fields of science. That popularization is due to the emergence of technologies such as the Intel® RealSense™ D400 series. However, despite the actual demand from some potential users, few studies concern the characterization of these sensors for object measurements. Our study sought to estimate models dealing with calculating the area and length between targets or points within RGB and depth images.  An experiment was set up with white cardboard fixed on a flat surface with colored pins. We measured the distance between the camera and cardboard by calculating the average distance from the pixels belonging to the target area. The Information Criterion AIC and BIC associated with R2 were performed to select the best models. Polynomial and power regression models reached the highest coefficient of determination and smallest values of AIC and BIC.

In this research, the design of innovative promotional packaging made of carton, which was made from the invasive, non-native acacia is presented. The entire planning process was based on the principle of ecological design. One of the main objectives was to create an innovative and versatile ecological product, a calendar that does not require any adhesive in its composition. The basic, mechanical, surface and structural properties of the ecological carton with a high grammage made of acacia compared them with the most commonly used one-side coated white cardboard made of wood fibres has been analysed. The result of this work is the environmentally friendly multi-purpose promotional packaging, the calendar, which could also be used as a storage place for pens and other office supplies.

AbstractThe cover image is a self-portrait of a patient of 36 year old. It became part of the book 'Chance for a Schizophrenic', published in 1981 by Professor Rui Chamone Jorge, one of the first occupational therapists in Brazil. It was painted in January 20th, 1977, using gouache and white cardboard (30x30cm), nine months after the beginning of her sessions with Prof. Chamone, in a clinic called SER.TO – Occupational Therapy Service, in Minas Gerais. This is the first book of a series of publications on Prof Chamone OT theory, developed throughout his career. Along with other eleven objects, the collection is part of itinerary Didatic Museum of Free Images, created on September 11, 1992, by the professor, which can be found on GES.TO’s – Group of Advanced Studies in Occupational Therapy - website.Key words: Occupational Therapy, Occupational Therapy/History, Mental Health.ResumenLa imagen de la portada es un autorretrato de la EM (36), quien se convirtió en la portada del libro "Chance for a Schizophrenic", publicado en 1981 por el terapeuta ocupacional de Minas Gerais, Brasil. When do infants start to understand that they can grasp an object by its handle when the interesting part is out of reach? Whereas it is known from preferential looking tasks that already at three months of age infants show surprise when all parts of an object do not move together, little is known about when infants are able to use such knowledge in an active grasp situation. To answer this question we presented six, eight, and 10 month-old infants in a cross-sectional and a longitudinal study with a white cardboard handle within reach and a bright ball at the end of the handle and out of reach. A trick condition, where the handle and the ball seem attached but were not, was added to get an indication of the infant’s expectation by observing a possible surprise reaction. Results show that 6-month-olds’ most frequent first behaviors consisted in pointing toward the ball without grasping the handle, or grasping the handle without looking at the ball until it moved. In addition, they often did not look surprised in the trick condition. Eight- and 10-month-olds most often grasped the handle while looking at the ball, and showed clear surprise in the trick condition. This was interpreted as showing that around eight or 10 months, infants take a significant step in understanding the cohesiveness of composite objects during grasping.

By using printability tester for printing on ordinary white cardboard and light beam hologram paper, measuring spectral information and chrominance information of the two samples, and then perform spectral fitting by analyses their color characteristics, The aim of this research was to propose one method for color calculation of printing on light beam hologram papers, according to the color information of ordinary white cardboard.

Introduction: Lip prints can be used as one of support for identification Because it has a pattern or lip wrinkles that never the same (unique) in each individual. Smoking has become a common habit and widespread in the community. Prolonged heat stimuli from smoking can cause changes in the lip wrinkles. Methods: This descriptive study found the description of lip print patterns on smokers and non-smokers. Samples Obtained as many as 30 people chosen by Certain criteria. Direct observation was made through some white cardboard that had been printed of lip prints and divided into four quadrants. Each quadrant was observed with a magnifying glass and count the number of lip wrinkles. Results: The number of lip wrinkles on each quadrant and been jotted in a table. The result is varied in the number of lip wrinkles in each quadrant between the smokers and non-smokers. Conclusion: The lip prints pattern of smokers showed a result of 12 to 17 pieces of wrinkles, and the lip prints pattern of non-smokers have 8 to 12 lines of wrinkles.

Aqueduct is a overhead canal building spanning river, road, hill, and valley, and it is also one of the most widely used crossing building. Usually by simplifying the actual structure ( supporting simplified, pole simplified, load simplified), the mechanical model of beam truss aqueduct can be attained and be calculated. It is an important step to understand its stress characteristics and structural features, so aqueduct model is hand-made with white cardboard and glue materials. By simulating the water flowing with standard sand, aqueduct model is loaded and the test is finished. At the same time , the numerical calculation is performed with the structural mechanics solver and ANSYS finite element software, the results are compared with test data. The results show the upper and lower beam of Aqueduct model support mostly the bending deformation, truss rods mostly stand the uniaxial tensile or compression deformation. The reasonable selection shape can helps to make mechanical properties of the rods better. The appropriate arrangement of upper, lower chords and ventral pole position can makes the bending moment, shear and axial force value of the bar distribute reasonable, so the application range of beam aqueduct is improved greatly.

A simple kit for rapid detection of potato virus Y by latex serological test was developed. The test is carried out on a white cardboard sheet and the results can be read by naked eye in two minutes. A test card of 10 x 6 cm holds latex sensitized antibodies, buffers and other necessary ingredients as dry blue colored formulate on the ringed areas of the card. A test card includes space for six tests and positive and negative controls. The kit also includes disposable plastic sticks for mixing the samples with test reagents and a hand press with disposable plastic tips. For testing, dried reagents are dissolved in drops of sample and mixed. After gentle rotation, samples containing virus appear clearly granulated while samples from healthy plants remain unagglutinated. The testing of undiluted extracts of evenly developed tuber sprouts resulted in over 91 % identity with the results obtained with ELISA that was used as a control method. Testing of diluted leaf extracts reached the same reliability but undiluted leaf extracts from glasshouse grown potatoes were not well suitable as test samples because of their dark green color. No such problems occurred with field grown material and a complete identity with the ELISA readings was true when the samples included secondarily infected potato plants. No reaction to other potato viruses than PVY was obtained by the test kit.
