Abstract The underwater hydraulic connector is one of the most important components of an underwater oil production system. The equipment is mainly used to transport oil, chemical reagents, and other high-pressure fluids. We developed a novel underwater hydraulic multi-way quick connector system (MQCS) that is able to realize simultaneous, rapid, and precise plugging and unplugging of 10 underwater pipelines. It can be widely used for connection between subsea oil production equipment. The MQCS consists of a fixed plate assembly that is fixed to the oil production equipment and a free plate assembly that is connected to the pipelines on the drilling platform. This study describes the structure and working principle of the MQCS in detail. In addition, the process of the elastic collet clamping the mandrel was studied. Based on the finite element analysis software Abaqus, we investigated how the key geometric parameters of the elastic collet influence the axial force that needs to be provided by the underwater robot. A prototype was built based on the simulation results. To verify the performance of MQCS, a high-pressure chamber test was conducted. The results show that MQCS can accurately connect 10 high-pressure lines (about 69 MPa) in a high-pressure chamber and there is no pressure drop for 3 h after docking.

Battery unit skid plate Joint integrity and Strength are key design attributes to ensure Functionality of vehicle. This paper provides an overview of simulation methodology to predict joint integrity and Strength of Battery unit skid plate. Bolt Joint integrity checked against the maximum vertical each wheel spindle loads, which captures maximum bending and twisting. This is the condition in which bolts can experience high load and bolt slippage should check against this load. Skid plate experiences different loading based on drivability and road profile. To simulate severe off road event condition, Maximum load which skid plate experience, applied, as Point load on skid plate at various critical locations to find the deflection and to make sure skid plate is strong enough to protect underneath battery unit.

It is well known that slipping in automotive clutches is closely related to the concave deformation of the pressure plate, but the mechanism of this deformation is not clear. A simplified model of a pressure plate assembly is developed by simulating the deformation field of the plate under the condition of continuous sliding, followed by natural cooling to room temperature. The distribution of displacement is obtained from numerical simulations. The equivalent von Mises stresses of the pressure plate with or without concave deformation are analyzed and compared. The mechanism leading to the concave deformation of the pressure plate is put forward in terms of equivalent von Mises stress. The results show that (1) the concave deformation of the pressure plate is produced during the cooling process and (2) the profile of the concave deformation is determined by its thermal stress distribution. The deformation is mainly caused by the overstressed upper part of the inner rim of the pressure plate during clutch operations.

In this paper, the influence of factors such as plate assembly size, process parameters and operation mode on welding quality is analyzed by welding test method, and the best welding process and operation technology are determined, which provides guarantee for welding training.
