Considering the role of communication for the effectiveness of selective waste collection programs (SCP), the research aimed to analyze the communication process used among the actors involved in waste SCP. In order to achieve the objective, a county located in the interior of the state of São Paulo, Brazil, was used as the case study. In the research, diagrams of information transmission were created, based on the Shannon Weaver model and adapted by DeFleur, so that communication gaps in the explored SCP and possibilities for improvement were identified. Among the results obtained in the study, it was observed that there is a distance between population and the cooperative that impairs the interactivity between these actors; the current information is insufficient to reinforce behavior in the population, since they don’t take into account environmental, social and economic factors as a form of mobilization; and the most effective means of communication to the public (speakers on the trucks) is no longer used to publicize the program. Thus, the communication in the analyzed SCP still lacks improvements, since the study identified noises in the communication that lead to failures in the selective collection of the county in question.

The article provides a brief overview of Research by Department of the Russian People, dedicated to the study of Orthodox culture at the Institute of Ethnology and Anthropology of the Russian Academy of Sciences during the last thirty years. The fundamental works in this direction of M. M. Gromyko, who was the first to raise the question of ethnographic study of the religiosity of the Russian people, formulated and outlined approaches and directions. In addition to monographs and articles, Ph. D. and doctoral dissertations, field collection programs materials, as well as the organization of the publication of the journal «Traditions and Modernity», dedicated to Orthodox culture of the Russian people. The article shows how the development of the considered scientific direction was developed and implemented in academic publications based on documentary sources of a different nature. The authors literally discovered a large layer of everyday religious life of the people, stable and centuries-old traditions of religious practice, which earlier, before revolutions in Soviet times were not a subject of study.

As data collection programs grow, cities need a way to systematically deploy counting equipment in a way that ensures robust pedestrian and bicyclist volume data are collected across a spectrum of use patterns and infrastructure contexts. This paper presents the findings from a deep dive into pedestrian and bicyclist volumes and exposure, including statistical modeling, as well as translating the outputs into an algorithm for systematically growing Seattle Department of Transportation’s nonmotorized count data collection program. The data collection location prioritization algorithm described in this paper provides a roadmap for cities and other agencies as they build their nonmotorized data collection programs.

Indonesia is a developing country with a low-level e-waste management system based on a limited number of informal initiatives. E-waste requires proper management procedures, which involve the design of a reverse logistics management network. Consumers play a critical role in such a network, because the network runs when they willingly participate as suppliers of waste. This paper applies the Theory of Planned Behavior framework and extends it using Reverse Logistics drivers, the Value Belief Norm Theory, and facility accessibility to explain consumer intention to participate in e-waste collection programs. A survey was conducted on smartphone users in Indonesia, with a total of 324 valid questionnaires. The results showed that government drivers, facility accessibility, and personal attitudes significantly influence consumer intentions. Environmental concern has a positive influence on consumer intentions through the variables of the Theory of Planned Behavior and perceived behavioral control through government drivers. This study shows the need for integration, because the variables reinforce each other. However, neither economic drivers nor subjective norms significantly influence consumer intentions. This finding distinguishes Indonesia from other countries, especially developed countries, in that e-waste collection programs have not become part of the culture in Indonesia. For this reason, Indonesia needs regulations, as the most influential variable, to regulate the implementation of such a program.

While large-scale distributed data processing platforms have become an attractive target for query processing, these systems are problematic for applications that deal with nested collections. Programmers are forced either to perform non-trivial translations of collection programs or to employ automated flattening procedures, both of which lead to performance problems. These challenges only worsen for nested collections with skewed cardinalities, where both handcrafted rewriting and automated flattening are unable to enforce load balancing across partitions. In this work, we propose a framework that translates a program manipulating nested collections into a set of semantically equivalent shredded queries that can be efficiently evaluated. The framework employs a combination of query compilation techniques, an efficient data representation for nested collections, and automated skew-handling. We provide an extensive experimental evaluation, demonstrating significant improvements provided by the framework in diverse scenarios for nested collection programs.

The current and probable consequences of digitalization standards implementation into various personal data collection programs are analyzed. China's example demonstrates the risks concerning business ethics and practices adherence while the analysis and processing of personal data. It is emphasized that the issues of the human rights and freedoms observance and their possible violations are urgent in the context of the total use of algorithms for processing personal behavior and personal trajectory of existence data.

The developments in zakah management is considered increasingly important along towards the digital era. Based on studies in the performance of several LAZs carried out, the realization of zakah collection is currently far from the potential of zakah which should be, so LAZ needs to take progressive steps in the implementation of the digitization system. This article aims to reveal the challenges faced by LAZ in the dissemination and collection of zakah in digital era, complete with the obstacles faced. In addition, it was stated about the form of strategy for utilizing digital fundraising channels, such as: websites, email marketing, search engine marketing, social media marketing, and social networks, in order to conduct more optimal zakah collection. This research is a qualitative research, using a literature study approach. Data collected related to the research were taken from several literary sources including scientific journals, several books, and related articles published in online media. As a result, by transforming into the use of canals on digital fundraising, zakah management and collection programs can be carried out better while also educate the public about the obligation for zakah.

As bicycling and walking have become more integrated into transportation agencies’ processes of planning, design, and operations, some state, regional, and local agencies have established nonmotorized data collection programs of varying scopes and with varying methods. The purpose of this study was to identify ways to plan and implement a nonmotorized count program in Virginia, and the scope included reviewing existing U.S. national-level guidance and examples from state departments of transportation (DOTs) other than Virginia’s to determine the most effective ways of implementing such a program. Study tasks included synthesizing the literature to obtain relevant information with regard to nonmotorized travel monitoring programs, practices, and technologies, as well as obtaining information from representatives of three states through interviews of public agency staff and researchers involved in each state’s program. The study found a large volume of recent research on the topic of nonmotorized travel monitoring. The study concluded that the practice of nonmotorized travel monitoring has evolved and expanded in recent years; that many commercially available counting technologies exist and have been evaluated; that the practice of nonmotorized travel monitoring, as with motorized travel monitoring, has several aspects beyond purchase and installation of automatic count equipment; and that several states are developing nonmotorized count programs and have begun putting their data to use. The findings provide a foundational resource for state DOTs that are considering developing state-level counting programs.
