ИЗУЧЕНИЕ ПРАВОСЛАВНОЙ ЖИЗНИ РУССКИХ В ИНСТИТУТЕ ЭТНОЛОГИИ И АНТРОПОЛОГИИ РОССИЙСКОЙ АКАДЕМИИ НАУК

В статье дается краткий обзор исследований Отдела русского народа, посвященных изучению православной культуры, в Институте этнологии и антропологии РАН за последние тридцать лет. Отмечены основополагающие работы в этом направлении М. М. Громыко, которая первой поставила вопрос об этнографическом изучении религиозности русского народа, сформулировала и обозначила подходы и направления. Кроме монографий и статей отмечены кандидатские и докторские диссертации, программы сбора полевых материалов, а также организация издания журнала «Традиции и современность», посвященного православной культуре русского народа. В статье показано, как разработка рассматриваемого научного направления получила развитие и реализацию в академических изданиях на основе документальных источников разного характера. Авторы буквально открыли большой пласт повседневной религиозной жизни народа, устойчивые и многовековые традиции вероисповедной практики, которые раньше, до революции и в советское время, не были предметом изучения. The article provides a brief overview of Research by Department of the Russian People, dedicated to the study of Orthodox culture at the Institute of Ethnology and Anthropology of the Russian Academy of Sciences during the last thirty years. The fundamental works in this direction of M. M. Gromyko, who was the first to raise the question of ethnographic study of the religiosity of the Russian people, formulated and outlined approaches and directions. In addition to monographs and articles, Ph. D. and doctoral dissertations, field collection programs materials, as well as the organization of the publication of the journal «Traditions and Modernity», dedicated to Orthodox culture of the Russian people. The article shows how the development of the considered scientific direction was developed and implemented in academic publications based on documentary sources of a different nature. The authors literally discovered a large layer of everyday religious life of the people, stable and centuries-old traditions of religious practice, which earlier, before revolutions in Soviet times were not a subject of study.

Abstract This work refers to the native species of genus Astragalus L. (A. dasyanthus, A. ponticus), Adonis L. (A. vernalis, A. wolgensis) and Digitalis L. (D. lanata, D. grandiflora). The plants are cultivated in the Botanical Garden of Moldova in the field collection of the medicinal and aromatic plants. Investigation includes propagation aspects, research into cultivation techniques and conservation measures. The biological particularities and the phenologic rhythm are also registered. The obtained data shows the ecological flexibility of species and the possibility of preserving them in culture.

Following Vatican II changes are rapidly taking place within Dutch Catholicism — the bishops no longer make decisions in an authoritarian way: religious practice is de clining ; priests and religious are decreasing in numbers and many religious and pastoral experiments have come into being. KASKI has the responsibility of keeping pace with the Church during this process of change. In order to do this it makes use of several modes of work — the production of statistics relating to the position of religion in Society, the planning of religious and pastoral institutions and the study of new forms of the religious life in orders and congregations. For the first task it has used the same instruments for twenty- five years and the censuses thus produced yield valuable infor mation. As far as pastoral planning is concerned, it works in the field, playing the role of catalyst for those who have to make decisions and the people who have to carry out these decisions. This was the case, for instance, in the pastoral planning of the town of Eindhoven. Finally, when dealing with the new forms of communal religious life it adopts the method of studying through participation so that two of its researchers working in this sector are themselves members of religious groups. Applied research poses important problems, both from the methodological and from the political points of view. Amongst them may be noted the difficulty of determining precisely what constitutes rapid change in religious life, and the political choice of the persons for whom the research is being con ducted; the latter inevitably imposes a certain degree of conformity upon the perspectives of the work. (For example, the choice of the Dutch hierarchy which was to follow the general lines given by a large majority of Catholic opinion when it was tested particularly on questions like the liturgical and parochial changes). The fact, also, that the director of KASKI himself has a personal commitment to what may be described as the « right of centre » position in Dutch Catho licism poses problems for the work of the Institute. Political and religious radicalism is not a strong characteristic of the more senior research workers. KASKI is a rare example of a centre which brings socio logists together and uses their professional competence to accompany change in religious institutions.

В настоящей статье рассматривается проблема изучения музейной коллекции буддийского изобразительного искусства Калмыкии, а также сохранения художественного наследия в условиях глобализации культур. Автор ставит цель создать научно обоснованные информационные ресурсы на базе исследования музейных коллекций и экспонатов. Информация составляет суть музейного дела, в основе которого лежит научно-исследовательская деятельность, объединяющая сферы комплектования, учета и хранения фондов, с одной стороны, с другой коммуникативная, связанная с экспозиционно-выставочной деятельностью. Исходными в работе музея являются не только сохраняемый фонд, но и сведения об экспонатах, собираемые в процессе комплектования фонда и создания каталога музейного собрания, состоящего из коллекций. Основываясь на богатой традиции описания и каталогизации предметов искусства, а также применяя современные технологии и искусствоведческие методы, стало возможным подготовить и издать научный каталог коллекций основного фонда Музея традиционной культуры имени Зая-пандиты Калмыцкого научного центра РАН. This article discusses the problem of studying the museum collection of Buddhist fine art in Kalmykia, as well as preserving the artistic heritage in the context of globalization of cultures. The author aims to create scientifically based information resources that include research on museum collections and exhibits. Information is the essence of museum business, which is based on research activities that combine the fields of acquisition, accounting and storage of funds, on the one hand, and on the other hand, communicative activities related to exposition and exhibition activities. The initial work of the museum is not only the preserved fund, but also information about the exhibits collected in the process of acquiring the fund and creating a museum collection catalog consisting of collections. The Zaya-Pandita Museum of Traditional Culture of the Kalmyk Scientific Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences stores and presents in the educational sphere multidisciplinary and largely unique information about the cultural heritage of the people. Based on a rich tradition of describing and cataloging objects of art, as well as using modern technologies and art criticism methods, it has become possible to prepare and publish a scientific catalog of the collections of the main fund of the Zaya-Pandita Museum of Traditional Culture.

Background: Knowledge brokering is promoted as a means of enabling exchange between fields and closer collaboration across institutional boundaries. Yet examples of its success in fostering collaboration and reconfiguring boundaries remain few.Aims and objectives: We consider the introduction of a dedicated knowledge-brokering role in a partnership across healthcare research and practice, with a view to examining the interaction between knowledge brokers’ location and attributes and the characteristics of the fields across which they work.Methods: We use qualitative data from a four-year ethnographic study, including observations, interviews, focus groups, reflective diaries and other documentary sources. Our analysis draws on Pierre Bourdieu’s conceptual framework.Findings: In efforts to transform the boundaries between related but disjointed fields, a feature posited as advantageous – knowledge brokers’ liminality – may in practice work to their disadvantage. An unequal partnership between two fields, where the capitals (the resources, relationships, markers of prestige and forms of knowledge) valued in one are privileged over the other, left knowledge brokers without a prior affiliation to either field adrift between the two.Discussion and conclusions: Lacking legitimacy to act across fields and bridge the gap between them, knowledge brokers are likely to seek to develop their skills on one side of the boundary, focusing on more limited and conservative activities, rather than advance the value of a distinctive array of capitals in mediating between fields. We identify implications for the construction and deployment of knowledge-brokering interventions towards collaborative objectives.<br />Key messages<br /><ul><li>Knowledge brokers are vaunted as a means of translating knowledge and removing barriers between fields;</li><br /><li>Their position ‘in between’ fields is important, but their influence in those fields may be limited;</li><br /><li>Lacking the resources and relationships to work across fields, they may align with only one;</li><br /><li>Both the structure of fields and the prior knowledge and habitus of brokers will influence knowledge brokerage’s success.</li></ul>

Abstract Akyem Abuakwa is one of the largest states of the Akan ethnic group in Ghana. Notwithstanding its size and important contribution to Ghana’s development, historians have paid little attention in doing academic research on the health history of the people. Using a qualitative method of research, this paper does a historical study on public health policies in Akyem Abuakwa from the 1850s to 1957. We utilised documentary and non-documentary sources to discuss the various public health policies implemented in Akyem Abuakwa from the pre-colonial era to the colonial era. We examined the impact of the policies on the people of Akyem Abuakwa and the various challenges faced by the British colonial administration in their quest to implement public health policies.

This study was aimed at explaining jewelry production, its development and implications of the developing trends. This study was conducted in Celuk Village, Gianyar Regency, a place or arena of production, distribution and at the same time sale of jewelry in Bali, Indonesia, in which Celuk is regarded as the basis for jewelry. This paper explains the development of jewelry at the beginning of the emergence of tourism and the implications, and the introduction of casting machine as the method of production which had an implication in the change of human labor, in which the artisans became machine power regarded as more professional in jewelry production. The data of this ethnographic study were collected through observation, in-depth interview, library research, and internet search. The finding showed that the presence of jewelry that is developing in Celuk Village does not give an optimal positive contribution to the community of the village as artisans, but in stead, it gives profits to the people outside the village who are involved in the development of the jewelry trends. The entrance of tourism with the implication on the high level of jewelry production and sale in Celuk Village started from 1980s gave profits to tour guides who were regarded as the ones who deserve to get fee in a large amount by the artisans. When there was a trend in jewelry in 2010-2014, in which the demand for jewelry like accessories for kebaya cloth for going to the temple and a ring with gemstone drove away the artisans whose position had been replaced by casting machines and workers who came from outside of Celuk Village who were regarded more professional by jewelry business people in producing standard jewelry in a large quantity. In this paper it is understood that artisans in Celuk Village are not able to obtain an optimal use from jewelry trends that develop in their location due to various factors such as the low level of education of the artisans, low level of profesionalism in working, and the low level of ability of the artisans in production management

The article shows the contribution of two representatives of multinational Russia of the 19th century to the study of the ethnic culture of the Mongols: the first corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Sciences from the Chuvash, the founder of Sinology, an outstanding scientist-monk N. Ya. Bichurin (Fr. Iakinfa) (1777-1853) and the first Buryat scientist, the Buryat “Lomonosov”, Dorzhi Banzarov (1822-1855). Coming from the lower classes of the people, they became prominent representatives of the Russian democratic intelligentsia of the 19th century.

Eamon Duffy’s The Stripping of the Altars has reinvigorated the debate over the nature of late mediaeval religious practice and belief, examining the ‘richness and complexity of the religious system by which men and women structured their experiences of the world, and their hopes and aspirations within and beyond it.’ Duffy questions the assumption that there was in that period a wide gulf between ‘popular’ and ‘élite’ religion. In so doing he has not only illuminated the religious practices and beliefs of late mediaeval England but he has stimulated discussion about the relationship between ‘popular’ and ‘élite’ religion in other periods. Duffy eschews the use of the term ‘popular religion’, which he argues carries questionable assumptions about the nature of ‘non-popular’ religion and about the gap between the two. He prefers ‘traditional religion’, on the grounds that it does greater justice to ‘the shared and inherited character of the religious beliefs and practices of the people…’ ‘Traditional religion’ while being rooted in inherited and shared beliefs was, nevertheless, capable of great flexibility and variety.
