<p>The modification of Takari natural sand‑based silica with bovine serum albumin/BSA (SiO2@BSA) as an adsorbent for biogenic amines compounds has been successfully synthesized. The SiO2@BSA was synthesized by using the batch method, then was characterized by using FTIR and SEM. Here, A typical BSA group was identified with the new formed namely C–N and C–H, and N–H. The SEM image shows the surface morphology in granular, non‑uniform, rough, and agglomerated forms. Several parameters such as adsorbent dosages, pH, and contact time, shows this material was optimum for adsorption of BSA at pH 5 with adsorbent dosages is 0.1 g during 80 min of contact time. The mechanism adsorption of BSA in this material was found out by using six kinetics modeling, and thermodynamic studies. Here, the adsorption of BSA was fitted with pseudo‑second‑order kinetics. Furthermore, the thermodynamic studies show that adsorption of BSA is spontaneously and follows chemical adsorption.</p>

The development of new water pollution control technology, particularly the development of high efficiency and low cost adsorbents is imperative. A compound adsorbent was prepared with the combination of chitosan and bentonite. Bentonite was added in chitosan slurry of 95% the degree of deacetylation to prepare adsorbent which mass ratio is 1:5. Its absorptivity toward Cu2+was studied. The results show: the dosage of the adsorbent is 14 g/L,the mass concentration of Cu2+in wastewater does not exceed 180 mg/L,the pH value range from 6 to7,the adsorption equilibrium time is about 9 h and Cu2+removal efficiency is over 97%.The low cost of adsorbents can be used to control industrial waste water containing copper.

The thermal vacuum method was used to test the adsorption performance of compound adsorbent. This thermal vacuum method, without vacuum pump, can expel the air of system up to its partial pressure, lower than 2 Pa. the adsorption performance of 13X zeolite and some compound adsorbent were tested by this way. Conclusions can be drawn as following: the adsorption capacity of 13X measured by this way has the less difference (<10%) with the reference. In this experimental system, the compound adsorbent, which has better adsorption performance and mould performance, was used in a solar cooling tube system as adsorbent and the experimental coefficient of performance (COP) of the solar cooling tube can reach about 0.26.
