Reinhard Koselleck has long been regarded as a particularly eminent theorist of socio-political concepts, while Hannah Arendt had not been in focus as a conceptual author until recent times. This article explores the common thinking space between Arendt and Koselleck through their thesis about the gap, rupture, crisis, or break in the tradition of political thinking and historical periods and how this is linked to their notion of conceptuality, i.e. Begreifen (understanding). Despite the impression that each of them focused on the one main break between the past and the future, Arendt and Koselleck both studied multiple breaks and crises in the Western political tradition. The article attempts to show how their distinctive thinking and rethinking of political concepts (Begreifen) are related to these breaks through several direct and indirect encounters and how these are both close and apart at the same time. While they have different concepts of politics and the political, their understanding of the breaks in time and crises can be read as complementary, especially considering their concern with returning the responsibility for actions and concepts to the human sphere.

AbstractWe investigated the change in the retinal gas cover rates due to intraocular gas volume and positions using computational eye models and demonstrated the appropriate position after pars plana vitrectomy (PPV) with gas tamponade for rhegmatogenous retinal detachments (RRDs). Computational fluid dynamic (CFD) software was used to calculate the retinal wall wettability of a computational pseudophakic eye models using fluid analysis. The model utilized different gas volumes from 10 to 90%, in increments of 10% to the vitreous cavity in the supine, sitting, lateral, prone with closed eyes, and prone positions. Then, the gas cover rates of the retina were measured in each quadrant. When breaks are limited to the inferior retina anterior to the equator or multiple breaks are observed in two or more quadrants anterior to the equator, supine position maintained 100% gas cover rates in all breaks for the longest duration compared with other positions. When breaks are limited to either superior, nasal, or temporal retina, sitting, lower temporal, and lower nasal position were maintained at 100% gas cover rates for the longest duration, respectively. Our results may contribute to better surgical outcomes of RRDs and a reduction in the duration of the postoperative prone position.

This review discusses methods of testing for a cointegration rank in a multivariate time series in the presence of structural breaks. The review covers both the methods with known and unknown break date. Multiple breaks are also considered. The issues of testing for cointegration with a possible change in the cointegration rank over time are discussed separately.

It is always viewed that data transmission get break down which is unique in all the IP sector in networks thus there many ideas which are given for fast rerouting in local areas by giving a high range of speed in data transferring insipte of the break downs. The overall ideas are only used for managing and preventing the single break downs only these ideas can only be used for single where as in multiple break downs they reflect as loops and even drop the data because of multiple non-partisan break downs are not handled by using such idea’s. To safeguard the flow of data even in multiple breaks down we scheme LOLS (Localized On-demand Link State). In LOLS the block list are converted into packets where sets are small in number in which links are failed and come across its path and next node is determined by omitting the block list. A ascendable LOLS is used for protecting and routing the data transmission in multiple break downs. Degrade is used to determine the links in LOLS. In this the world widely used and famous state greater than the current state. In LOLS block lists are in packets and next node is mentioned by running the block list links. This research gives a solution for the path break down occurring in data transmission and also gives protection to the data while they are transferred. Grade diffusion and direct diffusion are the two algorithms which are used in this paper

Abstract Background To evaluate the efficacy of micro-incision vitrectomy surgery (MIVS) using Lumera and Resight non-contact sutureless wide-angle viewing systems (WAVS) for primary rhegmatogenous retinal detachment (RRD), and to analyze the anatomical and visual outcomes. Methods The retrospective, non-comparative, interventional case series reported here was conducted from June 2014 through November 2016. Enrolled patients presented with primary RRD and received MIVS with/without cryopexy by one surgeon using the Lumera and Resight non-contact sutureless WAVS. All patients were followed-up for a minimum of 12 months. Variables collected included patient demographics, best-corrected visual acuity, and macular status. The number and position of retinal break(s), and the use of cryopexy, were also recorded. Outcome measures included operative time, single-operation anatomical success rate, final anatomical success rate, recurrent rate, postoperative best-corrected visual acuity, and surgical complications. The end points were operative time, anatomical outcome, and functional outcome. Results In total, 110 eyes from 110 patients (68 men and 42 women) were treated. Of these, 103 (93%) eyes were reattached after primary vitrectomy. One hundred ten eyes (100%) reached final anatomical success. The mean operative time was 50.55 min. Multivariate analyses were performed with best model selection principle based on general linear model by Akaike Information Criteria for detecting possible factors related to operation time, and with multivariate logistic regression analysis for revealing probable clinical parameters which might influence the anatomical outcome after first operation and final visual outcome. Intraoperative cryopexy and multiple breaks increased operative time significantly. More favorable BCVA was significantly correlated with shorter operation time and the preoperative macula-on status. Multivariate logistic regression on the group of patients who have received the cataract surgery revealed that the pre-operative BCVA is a significant factor which can predict the visual outcome after MIVS. Conclusions The outcome of primary RRD repaired by MIVS using the Lumera and Resight sutureless WAVS was not inferior to any other published method. This instrument combination resulted in a relatively rapid and comfortable procedure without serious postoperative complications. Cryopexy and multiple breaks affected operative time significantly. Shorter operative times and preoperative macula-on status are associated with better final visual outcomes.
