The article is devoted to the formation of recreational facilities in the structure of suburban areas, which are favorable for the development of recreational and tourist activities. The main preconditions and factors influencing the formation of certain types of institutions are studied. The main architectural and planning features of recreational facilities are identified. The main architectural techniques for the formation of recreational institutions are determined. Such techniques are the pavilion and block-pavilion structure. The main functional groups of the premises of the recreational complexes have been determined. The main groups of premises include: summer residential buildings, sports and recreation facilities, cultural and social facilities, catering facilities. The optimal natural conditions for the formation of recreational institutions in the Sumy region have been determined. A study of natural and recreational resources of the Lebedyn district in Sumy region is conducted. It is established that in this area there are optimal conditions for the formation of recreational facilities. Taking into account certain natural conditions and factors, the  concept of the project solution of the recreational and recreational complex in the Lebedyn district of Sumy region is proposed. The complex is proposed to be designed in the coastal zone of the river Psel. The methods of urban planning, architectural planning and compositional solutions that are optimal for a given area were established in the process of project search. These techniques include: the reception of accommodation in a suburban recreational area, the reception of a combined compositional planning organization, the reception of folk (traditional) Ukrainian architecture in combination with modern structural systems.

Abstract This article presents findings from a multisite randomized clinical trial measuring the impact of employment on independence in 18 to 22 year old youth with significant impact from autism spectrum disorder (ASD). The treatment condition was Project SEARCH plus ASD Supports (PS+ASD) where 73.4% of participants gained competitive integrated employment (CIE) within 1 year of graduation compared to control participants who acquired CIE at 17%. Within group analysis revealed that PS+ASD participants demonstrated improvement in all domains whereas control group participants demonstrated improvement in one domain only. Between groups analysis indicated that participants in PS+ASD demonstrated nominally better rates of improvement than control group participants at graduation and 1-year follow-up. Results provide evidence that employment provides therapeutic benefits to individuals with ASD.

Individuals with additional needs, such as learning disabilities, face a crisis of unemployment in the United Kingdom (UK). Many of these individuals encounter few adult services that are in place to address their support needs. Supported work internship programs are one attempt to address this crisis. One such program for young people with learning disabilities is the Project SEARCH model. Though a number of research studies have explored the efficacy of the Project SEARCH model, the reported markers of success (e.g., subsequent employment rates) have not taken into account first-hand participant experiences. The current study aimed to establish whether participant views were consistent with the previously reported, positive, quantitative measures. We explored the views of seven interns, aged 17 to 24 years, with various learning difficulties, and three job coaches who were involved in the program from September 2017 to June 2018. Semistructured interviews were conducted and analysed using thematic analysis. Participants revealed meaningful experiences for those involved, positive self-development, and renewed aspirations for the future. The value of a strong and consistent support network involving family members, job coaches, coworkers, and supervisors was highlighted. The study also found ongoing challenges associated with the scheme. These centred on concerns that interns’ abilities were being underestimated, the impact of a reduction/withdrawal of support at the conclusion of the program, and the barriers to finding subsequent competitive employment for interns. The research highlights the value of eliciting participant voice within research, and discusses how the findings can be used to further develop supported work internship programs.

Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a disease that affects the central nervous system. It is a lifelong condition with no cure, but it can be managed with treatments and specialists. For example, treatment can focus on accelerating recovery from attacks, slowing disease progression and managing symptoms. Symptoms caused by MS include fatigue, visual problems, muscle spasms and stiffness, mobility problems, neuropathic pain and problems with thinking, learning and memory, among others. Professor Masaya Ikegawa is a researcher based in the Department of Medical Life Systems at Doshisha University, Japan. His latest research project ('Search for super early biomarker of multiple sclerosis using mass spectrometry imaging') involves identifying biomarkers and therapeutic targets of MS through imaging mass spectrometry. His research also encompasses a broader spectrum of intractable diseases, which are those that have mostly arisen through unidentifiable causes and lack established or curable treatments, including Alzheimer's disease, diabetic neuropathy and cancer, among others.

Abstract Introduction: Youth with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) face high rates of unemployment, with unique challenges for military-dependent and -connected youth with ASD. This paper reports preliminary findings from Year One of a randomized waitlist controlled trial investigating the efficacy of the Project SEARCH + ASD Supports (PS + ASD) intervention model for military-dependent and -connected youth with ASD. Methods: Treatment group participants (n = 6) participated in internships at a military installation in the southeastern United States; waitlist group participants (n = 8) received special education transition services at their local high schools. Employment outcome data were collected at 12 months for both groups. Results: Fourteen unique internship experiences were developed across seven business partner organizations on the military installation during Year One. Five of six PS + ASD treatment group participants obtained competitive integrated employment for an overall employment rate of 83.3%. Four of the positions were federal jobs. None of the waitlist group participants obtained competitive integrated employment during the same period. Conclusions: Initial results are promising and suggest that the PS + ASD model may help to meet the transition needs of military-dependent and -connected youth with ASD and the employment needs of local military communities.

The article compares the double coding scheme developed in the theory of postmodernism with the scheme of spectacular communication, borrowed from the field of theater studies. The idea of “critical architecture” has become a prerequisite for the analysis of communicative schemes. The authors interpret it as an interactive movement organized by axiological programs that combine the positions of consciousness, thinking and reflexive control in the genre self-determination, the prescription of theme and style of the architectural work for the purpose of value management of the project search. The authors identify the subject of role disposition, in which the architect emphasizes the dramatic role of the compiler or stylist of the literary text. The method and organizational forms of dispositional thinking, one of which is a critical architecture, rationalizing the design of declarations of artistic directions are considered
