Abstract. We present here LARGE 0.2.0 (Lithosphere AsthenospheRe Geodynamic Evolution) a geodynamic modelling Python package that implements a flexible and user friendly tool for the geodynamic/modelling community. It simulates 2D large scale geodynamic processes by solving the conservation equations of mass, momentum, and energy by a finite difference method with the moving tracers technique. LARGE uses advanced modern numerical libraries and algorithms but unlike common simulation code written in Fortran or C this code is written entirely in Python. Simulations are driven by configuration files that define thoroughly the lithologies and the parameters that distinguish the model. Documentation for them and for all the modules is included in the package together with a complete set of examples and utilities. The package can be used to reproduce results of published studies and models or to experiment new simulations. LARGE can run in serial mode on desktop computers but can take advantage of MPI to run in parallel on multi node HPC systems.

<p>Biometric based personal authentication is playing a vital role in various security based applications. This paper presents the effective fusion of fingerprint, palmprint and iris traits at decision level. Combining different traits at the decision level is a challenging task due to less information available at this level. The focus of the work is to examine the performance of multimodal biometrics at decision level fusion in three different i.e. serial, parallel and hierarchical modes of operation. Serial mode is performed by taking unimodals serially while parallel mode of operation is carried out by processing all modals simulatenously using Majority Voting Rule and the hierarchical mode of operation is performed with proper combination of traits in parallel and serial mode using AND and OR rule. The experiments are performed on 100 different users from publically available FVC2006 fingerprint database, CASIA V1 palmprint database and IITD iris database. The experimental results suggest that proper fusion of different traits in hierarchical way can give best performance even at decision level fusion as compared to serial and parallel mode of operation.</p>

This study proposed a combined solar-assisted heat pump (SAHP) system that could operate in the serial mode or parallel mode. For this proposed system, a stable year-round operation could be achieved without the assistance of electric heating or low-temperature heat pump. By analyzing the heat balance equations, a correlation of the combined SAHP system for the two modes switched was obtained, which provided a theoretical basis for the optimal operation of this system. In addition, the performance of the proposed system applied in a university bathroom in Xi’an district was investigated using TRNSYS. The results illustrated that compared to the serial and parallel systems, the proposed system exhibited a good performance on energy efficiency. The annual average coefficient of performance (COP) of the proposed system was 5.7, obviously higher than those of the serial system and the parallel system, which were 3.3 and 4.3, respectively. Therefore, the results in this study could provide the theoretical guidance and reference for practical engineering design.

Based on the existing LED (light emitting diode) chip waxing machine running in single-station serial mode, a multi-station LED chip waxing machine was designed which made creative improvements on the revolving platform of the waxing machine. Working efficiency was greatly increased with multi-station continuous parallel working mode. The control system used genetic algorithm-based PID (proportion integration differentiation) control to precisely control the revolving platform and all the manipulators, so that the waxing machine would carry out the fully automated assembly line work.

According to the problems existing in the serial mode design method ,green design for concurrent engineering is introduced in developing agriculture machinery product to shorten the product developing period ,reduce cost ,reduce pollution ,improve quality preserve environment ,and improve the green degree of agriculture machinery product .The main contents ,design mode and basic characteristics of green design are elaborated in this paper for concurrent engineering .At the same time ,type green design system is also introduced in the pape. Green design for concurrent engineering is a new product exploitation and designmode. As green design for concurrent engineering for agriculture machinery product is demand of the product development, it promotes sustaining progress for agriculture system.
