This chapter examines the distractive potential of digital devices and summarizes existing scholarly work in this area. The chapter begins with a background on the overall problem of distractions caused by digital devices and how this problem has changed over time. This is followed by a detailed accounting of the digital distractions research, emphasizing the role of message relevance in this process, as well as discussion of research that has examined the interplay between note-taking and digital distractions. The last major section summarizes scholarly work and additional sources that provide examples of how mobile devices, and technology more broadly, can be used in the classroom to help support student learning.

This chapter introduces the method and key terms and provides initial background. After introducing the canonical Gospels and Acts, this chapter gives an overview of the book’s methods and assumptions. This book uses a synchronic and ancient audience-oriented approach but incorporates a significant amount of historical background into the conversation. Next, the chapter defines the literary genres of the canonical Gospels as ancient biographies, and Acts as an ancient historiography, noting the questions of historicity these writings also raise. The final major section of the introduction investigates possible literary relationships between the canonical writings, incorporating recent scholarship in an accessible manner. The chapter ends with a brief overview of the flow of the rest of the volume.

The genus Trifolium is one of the largest genera of the legume family Fabaceae with ca. 255 species. The genus is divided into eight sections; the section Trifolium is a major section of the genus, comprising 73 species mainly distributed in the Mediterranean region. We used nuclear ribosomal DNA internal transcribed spacer (ITS) and morphological variation to reconsider the delimitation and phylogenetic relationships of species in the section Trifolium with reference to chromosomal variations. Bayesian analysis of ITS data delimited the species as three clades based on the analysis of ITS sequence and informative indels in combination with morphological variation. The phylogeny of the species by different analyses methods does not support their current delimitation in 17 subsections. The basic chromosome number x = 8 is the number for the genus Trifolium, from which x = 7, 6 and 5 were derived through successive aneuploidy events. With reference to the distribution of these numbers in the species of the section Trifolium, species in clade III and clade II are more evolved than species in clade I.

Objective: Oxidative stress, proteasomal impairment, mitochondrial dysfunction, and accumulation of abnormal protein aggregates have shovelled a major section of senior population towards neurodegenerative disorders. Although age, genetic and environmental factors are thought to play a significant role, drug abuse is considered to be a potent trigger in Parkinsonism among the young generation. The present study is a critical examination on herbal resources for attenuation of neurodegeneration. Materials and Methods: The following electronic databases have been used to search for literature: MEDLINE, Scopus, PubMed and EMBASE Results : Paying heed to the prevalence in neurodegenerative disorders-Alzheimer’s & Parkinson’s; the current review encompasses the pathogenesis of neurodegeneration at cellular level and possible prospects to overcome the challenge sailing through the ocean of herbal boon. The United States-Alzheimer’s Association states, deaths attributable to heart disease in the country fell by 11% between 2000 and 2015, while deaths from neurodegenerative diseases increased by a staggering 123% making it, the world’s sixth leading cause of death. The irreversible pathological damage amounts to cognitive loss, dementia, Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), Parkinson’s disease (PD) Alzheimer’s disease (AD). Various herbal drugs like Brahmi, Shankhpushpi and Amla are reported to be rich in phytoconstituents like, flavonoids, glycosides, alkaloids, fatty acids, sterols, tannins, saponins, and terpenes that have remarkable antioxidant potential and could be explored for the same to prevent neuronal necrosis. Conclusion: It is also believed that herbal medicines are more effective and less toxic than synthetic drugs.

Abstract This article utilises the methodology of Third Article Theology to explore the church’s missional role in the world. Initially arguing that ecclesiology and missiology are mutually informing doctrines, it develops a dialogical and pneumatological approach for viewing missiology from the vantage point of ecclesiology. This contrasts with and complements the more common approach where missiology is seen as determinative of ecclesiology. The final and major section of the article uses this approach to sketch out the constituent features of the church’s mission, particularly when the Spirit’s role is viewed as primary and constitutive.

We provide an overview of research on the implicit social cognition of self and identity. We limit our coverage to aspects of the self that emerge when (1) viewed in the context of social group memberships and (2) measured via thoughts and feelings that are not consciously controllable or within awareness. We begin with research paradigms that link the study of self with social group and proceed to specific analyses of basic preference for the ingroup and other attributes associated with the self. We then include analyses of implicit self and identity processes as viewed in research on self-evaluation, performance and behavior, and goal pursuit. In the next major section, we attend to the top-down influence of societal and cultural factors on the construction of implicit self and identity. Together, the research we review reveals the plasticity of the self as it is shaped by the demands of social group and culture

Vaishnavism is a major section of bhakti literature. The Vedic texts, upanishads and agamas describe the theoretical position of the Vaishnava god Thirumal. In the Four Vedas, the oldest of the vedas, The Vaishnavakadava, Thirumal, appears as the main god. The Upanishads, which guide the ethics of life, have highlighted the position of Vishnu. In addition, this article is entitled Vaishnavism in a theoretical position to explore how to worship God through Vaishnavism.

When one examines the concept of healing in the Old Testament and African (Yoruba) context, it is apparently quite important, but when one examines prestigious books on the Old Testament theology, it appears to be difficult to find a major section on God as a healer or significant discussion on the healing work of Yahweh in the period of the Old Testament. The Old Testament and African Indigenous Religion believe that Yahweh is the ultimate healer through prophets, and physicians are also agents of healing on behalf of God. They used words, materials such as water, herbs and touching for healing. The purpose of this article is to examine the Old Testament and African, or Yoruba, tradition to show how Yahweh’s healing work is important and that he is the ultimate healer in the Old Testament and African (Yoruba) tradition, although prophets and physicians are also agents of healing on behalf of God. To achieve this purpose, this article used African Biblical Hermeneutic methodology to examine various vocabularies for healing in the Old Testament (רפא, שׁלום, מרפא, ארכה).Contribution: Apart from assisting readers to appreciate the healing work of Yahweh in the Old Testament, this article has brought the possibility for readers to appreciate both Old Testament and African (Yoruba) healing, and to attribute them ultimately to God. It can also be used supplementarily to Western orthodox healing, as God is the final healer.

The biggest invention of 21st century is the social media. It is biggest platform which is using to share data, files and documents. Even it is using to share thoughts, ideas and feelings using different tools and techniques. People are hyper connected with each other and they are continuously sharing the information. For criminals, deploying malware in such scenario is very easy and propagating malware through JPEG images and QR Code is one of the best and most advanced method. Using steganography techniques, criminals embedded the malicious codes with legitimate or innocent looking images. This malicious content is just few line of codes which exploit the vulnerability of application. It give remote access of this system to the attacker which can do criminal act. In this framework, our primary purpose is to find the presence of any code or data in image. After it, the major section of this framework based upon the finding of code and its adverse effects. This framework shows the corresponding solution to the malicious code presence in JPEG images and QR code which are spreading through online social networking sites.

This chapter examines how the meanings of national narratives are shaped by their context of use. The introduction and first section lay out the notion of “narrative dialogism.” This is followed by a section on “hidden dialogism” that examines how narratives can subtly, but powerfully respond to one another in ways that shape their meaning. A discussion between Vladimir Putin and a British journalist is used as an illustration. The next section concerns “authoritative and internally persuasive discourse,” which involve more condensed forms of narrative dialogism. The notion of authoritative discourse can be harnessed to address how individuals take over the official discourse and memory of the state. An example from a classroom in Soviet Estonia is used to clarify this form of dialogism. The next section on “bivocalism” examines a kind of double-voicedness that involves tentative, ambivalent ways of speaking about the past in which Georgians are both heroic defenders of national honor and self-condemning for being traitors. The final major section of the chapter is on national narrative projects (NNPs), which are unlike specific narratives, narrative templates, and other narrative forms because they do not conclude with a final event. Instead, they tell a story that is in progress such as “America’s Quest for a More Perfect Democratic Union,” “Russia’s Spiritual Mission” as reflected in the story of Moscow as the Third Rome, and “China’s Quest as the Central Kingdom.”
