This paper presents the effects between Logistics Network and Value-Added activities 3PL environments and its effect on the Financial and Strategic Performance of Mexican Maquiladoras companies. The significant increase in outsourcing transportation services in freight transport at the border Mexico-United States has inspired this research. The paper presents four hypotheses, tested with data from 158 responses to a questionnaire applied to engineers from the manufacturing industry in Ciudad Juarez (Mexico). The hypotheses were tested statistically using the partial least squares technique. Results indicate that a good design of a Logistics Network has a positive effect on Strategic Performance through transport logistics planning to reduce distribution times and costs. Additionally, the Value-Added services offered by a 3PL positively affect Strategic Performance through labeling-marking, packaging, and reassembling of products. Also, the Strategic Performance has a positive effect on Financial Performance through flexibility and risk minimization of 3PL provider, and this is the enormous effect that arguing theoretically and demonstrating empirically that the outsourcing of 3PL incremented the economic benefits to the quantity of 76.20% between Financial Performance and provides a reference to make decisions according to strategies to incorporate 3PL in such maquiladora industries. Keywords: 3PL, strategic performance, financial performance, structural equations

In this chapter, the impact of corporate sustainability practices (CSP) on corporate financial performance (CFP) is investigated in terms of Turkish manufacturing industry. In this context, 16 sustainable companies vs. 21 control companies in 2016 and 16 sustainable companies vs. 24 control companies in 2017 are examined. Thirty-seven financial performance variables within seven groups are used, and non-parametric Mann-Whitney U test is applied. In 2016, four out of seven significant variables point out that sustainable companies perform better than control sample; however, in 2017, three out of four significant variables indicate the opposite. Therefore, the results are mixed, and it is concluded that implementing environmental, social, and governance (ESG) criteria do not have a noticeable positive effect on financial performances of manufacturing industry companies, at least in the short-term.

This study was conducted to see how intellectual capital (IC) affects company performance (ROA)by entering the size variable in its calculations. This study also analyzes how much financial performancechanges occur as an effect of the efficiency of the use of capital employees (CEE), the efficiencyof using Structural Capital (SCE), and the partial efficiency of using Human Capital (HCE).Research was conducted on conventional banking in Indonesia for the period 2013 - 2017. Theresearch data was obtained from the official website of the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX). Thisstudy found that VAIC had a significant positive effect on ROA, and from the three IC components itturned out that the CEE component had the greatest influence on ROA

This study aims to predict causality model [33] effect of Corporate Social Responsibility on financial performance. This study also examines motivation of CSR implementation based on financial performance and market performance in non-financial public companies and banks that disclose CSR activities and listed at Indonesia Stock Exchange during 2007–2009. Numbers of samples were 46 companies. Data was analyzed by GSCA. Research result showed that there was a significant direct effect between CSR on Return on Assets (ROA), Return on Equity (ROE). In contrast, there was no significant direct effect between CSR on Market Value Added (MVA). In addition, there was a significant direct effect between Return on Assets (ROA) on CSR, Return on Equity (ROE) on CSR and there was no significant direct effect between Market Value Added (MVA) on CSR. There were three empirical findings novelties of this study. First, return on assets (ROA) has positive effect on CSR and otherwise CSR has positive effect on ROA. Second, ROE has positive effect on CSR and otherwise CSR has positive effect on ROE. Last, MVA affect on CSR and otherwise CSR affect on MVA.

This study examines the relationships among learning orientation, firm innovativeness and financial performance in the context of the Norwegian wood industry. A questionnaire-based survey was sent to the CEOs of firms in the wood industry in Norway (241 usable replies, response rate of 49 percent). Learning orientation and firm innovativeness were conceptualised and analysed as latent second-order constructs by using structural equation modelling. The findings show that learning orientation has a positive effect on firm innovativeness in the traditional manufacturing industry. In addition, learning orientation was found to positively affect financial performance via the full mediating effect of firm innovativeness. Furthermore, firm innovativeness was also found to have an independent positive effect on financial performance. No direct effect of learning orientation on financial performance was found. According to the data, firm age also does not appear to affect the relationship between learning orientation and firm innovativeness.

uBusinesses began to realize that the ability to compete not only in the ownership of industrial machines, but more on innovation, information systems, organizational management and human resource knowledge he had. An attempt will be able to compete when using competitive advantage gained through creative innovations produced by the intellectual capital of the company. Therefore, the Intellectual Capital (IC) has become a very valuable asset in the modern business world because it is necessary to create value added for the company. This study aims to determine the effect of IC on corporate financial performance. IC is an independent variable and the company’s financial performance as the dependent variable. Data used in this study is 215 public companies (non financial) in Indonesia from 2005 until 2008 which are listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI). This research uses Pulic model (Value Added Intellectual Coefficient ™ - VAIC ™) as a measure of IC components that proxies with physical capital (vaca), human capital (VAHU), and structural capital (STVA).
