В статье представлены результаты изучения шести краниоскопических признаков на 487 черепах раннего и среднего этапов эпохи бронзы из степной и лесостепной зон Восточной Европы. Выборки сформированы в основном по культурно-территориальному принципу. Межгрупповая изменчивость изученных признаков анализировалась с помощью таблиц сопряженности, точного критерия Фишера и метода главных компонент. Зафиксировано значительное морфологическое разнообразие локальных групп ямной культуры, сопоставимое с различиями между современными географически отдаленными европеоидными популяциями разного происхождения. Отмечено сходство носителей полтавкинской культуры и населения катакомбных культур, проживавших к северу от нижнего течения Дона. Происхождение носителей катакомбных культур более южных регионов - вдоль левых притоков Нижнего Дона, в волго-донском междуречье и в Северо-Западном Прикаспии - вероятно, связано с населением Кавказа и Закавказья. The paper explores six cranioscopic attributes on 487 skulls dating to the early and the middle stages of the Bronze Age. The skulls originate from the steppe and the forest-steppe belts in Eastern Europe. The samples were selected mostly based on the cultural and regional principle. The inter-group variability of the attributes was analyzed with the help of contingency tables, the Fisher exact test and the principal components method. The analysis revealed substantial morphological diversity of the Yamnaya local groups which is comparable with the differences between modern geographically remote Caucasian populations of different origin. The paper highlights resemblance between the Poltavka individuals and the individuals from the Catacomb cultures who lived north of the Lower Don region. The origin of the Catacomb individuals inhabiting the regions located further to the south along the left tributaries of the Lower Don, the Volga-Don interfluve and the northwestern Caspian region is apparently linked to the population of the Caucasus and Transcaucasia.

The study aimed to substantiate the nature of the interaction between the economic efficiency of the peat industry and the sustainability of the region on the example of the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Area (KhMAA) of Russia. Based on the development indicators of the districts of KhMAA for 2017-2020, the factors characterizing the components of sustainable regional development were determined using the principal components’ method. Using the fuzzy sets’ method, the values, levels of the factors, and the integral indicator of sustainable development were calculated, and the realized and unrealized potential of peat industry development in the context of the districts of the study area were determined. The causal relationships between indicators of regional sustainable development and peat industry potential, and the nature of dependence between the indicators, are argued. The regional development prospects were revealed through the peat industry development based on the regression models built by calculating the elasticity coefficients.

The current approaches to estimating the level of energy security are based on applying a comprehensive approach to selecting the factors that affect energy security and the dynamics of processes in this domain. This article reveals the application of the model of energy security estimation and strategizing based on the systemic description of energy security as an object of management: the integral system, elements and connections, functions, processes, and the system’s material. At the same time, this model is able to take into account the dynamics of technological, political, economic, and other factors operating in the country and on the global arena. The energy security estimation model developed uses a modern methodology of integrated estimation: a multiplicative form of the integrated index, a formalized definition of the safe existence limits in order to provide scientific substantiation of the threshold vector, a modified rationing method, the principal components method, and the sliding matrix method to substantiate dynamic weighting coefficients. The paper demonstrates the systemic approach application to shaping strategic goals in the energy security domain in the context of sustainable development; the trajectory of energy security development is calculated by the method of strategizing that applies the principle “future is determined by the trajectory to the future” instead of the classical forecasting “past determines the future”. In general, the article shows the possibility of unifying the process of formalizing energy security (according to the needs of the researcher: country, industry, energy network, supply chain) as an object of management, estimating energy security status, and strategizing the regulatory sphere transformation in accordance with the target values for monitoring the effectiveness of management.

The article aimed to develop a methodology for monitoring the quality level of the synergistic effect of enterprises' economic activity in business network interaction on the example of mechanical engineering in Ukraine. Using the expert assessments of 386 senior and middle managers of 27 mechanical engineering enterprises of the Kharkiv region and the main components' method, the components of qualitative parameters of the synergetic effect of economic activity result from network interaction have been determined. An additive econometric model has been developed to calculate the integrated indicator of enterprises' economic activity's synergetic effect in terms of the business network of the studied enterprises. Using Fibonacci rules, the levels of qualitative component components and the integrated indicator of the synergy of economic activity in the context of a single network partner are determined.

Solving the problems of regional development belongs to the category of strategic and most important of each country. The COVID-19 pandemic has become the biggest challenge for the world economic system, causing a significant impact on the reduction of key macroeconomic indicators, changes in business conditions, which has raised the issue of assessing the social and economic development of regions. The paper considers the application of composite index assessment technology for the consequences of COVID-19 on the development indicators of Ukraine's regions. The comparison was conducted according to the data of the first two quarters of 2019 and 2020. For the study, eight indicators were selected, which by content feature were divided into a subset of economic indicators and a subset of social indicators. A partial composite development index was designed for each subset. The principal components method was used to calculate the weights of the components. The results of the analysis showed that the COVID-19 pandemic had a greater impact on economic development: for each region, there is a decrease in the value of the indicator. While for a partial composite index of social development such a decrease is less noticeable. The reflection of the regions in the space of these composite indices showed that their structure remained virtually unchanged. The analysis of the common composite index of regional development, designed by the convolution of partial composite indices indicators, also showed a decrease in its values in 2020. The paper analyses the measures taken by the Government of Ukraine to neutralize the effects of the pandemic.
