The paper presents data on the problems of monitoring and diagnosing the technical conditions of critical production facilities, such as torpedo ladle cars, steel ladles. The accidents with critical production facilities, such as torpedo ladle cars, lead to losses and different types of damages in the metallurgical industry. The paper substantiates the need for a mathematical study of the operation process of the noted critical production facilities. A Markovian graph has been built that describes the states of torpedo ladle cars during their operation. A mathematical model is presented that allows determining the optimal frequency of diagnostics of torpedo ladle cars, which, in contrast to the existing approaches, take into account the procedures for preventive diagnostics of torpedo ladle cars, without taking them out of service. Dependence of the utilization coefficient on the period of diagnostics of PM350t torpedo ladle cars was developed. The results (of determining the optimal period of diagnostics for PM350t torpedo ladle cars) are demonstrated. The system for automated monitoring and diagnosing the technical conditions of torpedo ladle cars, without taking them out of service, has been developed and described.

The increasing burden of obesity plays an essential role in increased cardiovascular morbidity and mortality. The effects of obesity on the cardiovascular system have also been demonstrated in childhood, where prevention is even more important. Obesity is associated with hormonal changes and vascular dysfunction, which eventually lead to hypertension, hyperinsulinemia, chronic kidney disease, dyslipidemia and cardiac dysfunction—all associated with increased cardiovascular risk, leading to potential cardiovascular events in early adulthood. Several preventive strategies are being implemented to reduce the cardiovascular burden in children. This paper presents a comprehensive review of obesity-associated cardiovascular morbidity with the preventive diagnostic workup at our hospital and possible interventions in children.

AbstractThis study is aimed at investigating the features of mineralization of the enamel apatite at initial stages of fluorosis development. Samples of teeth with intact and fluorotic enamel in an early stage of the disease development (Thylstrup–Fejerskov Index = 1–3) were studied by Raman scattering and FTIR using Infrared Microspectroscopy beamline at Australian Synchrotron equipment. Based on the data obtained by optical microspectroscopy and calculation of the coefficient R [A-type/B-type], which represents the ratio of carbonation fraction of CO32−, replacing phosphate or hydroxyl radicals in the enamel apatite lattice, the features of mineralization of enamel apatite in the initial stages of development of the pathology caused by an increased content of fluorine in the oral cavity were established. Statistical analysis of the data showed significant differences in the mean values of R [A-type/B-type] ratio between the control and experimental groups for surface layers (p < 0.01). The data obtained are potentially significant as benchmarks in the development of a new approach to preventive diagnostics of the development of initial and clinically unregistered stages of human teeth fluorosis, as well as personalized control of the use of fluoride-containing caries-preventive agents.

The article provides a review of the literature on the results of current studies on using bioimpedancemetry in clinical practice. The analysis of available domestic and foreign sources published for the past decade illustrates the practicability and broad possibilities of studying the electrical resistance of biological tissues and environments in a wide variety of medical fields. The majority of works deal with the study of practical value of the method for characterizing the nutritional status as one of the indicators of a complex assessment of physical development and human health, early detection of pathology of organs and systems, a reliable criterion for the effectiveness of therapy and prognosis of the disease. The works presented in the review characterize bioimpedance measurement as a promising method of preventive diagnostics that indisputable advantages include noninvasiveness and painlessness of the procedure, portability, and the possibility of safe repetition of the study in dynamics that is especially important in pediatric practice. The authors suggest to include this method in the standards of population survey in order to assess the health status and its monitoring.

The purpose of present work is to study the dynamic characteristics of the personality (current psycho-emotional state, adherence to treatment) of patients with movement disorders in order to identify the main targets of psycho-correctional work. 363 patients were examined: 195 after stroke and 168 with degenerative-dystrophic diseases of large joints and spine. The following tools were used: SCL-90-R, Tampa Scale, Compliance Level Questionnaire, expert assessment of compliance by the attending physician and physical therapy instructor on a five-point scale. High level of somatization of anxiety and depressive feelings and psychological component of kinesiophobia (fear of movement), manifested in convincing patients that their illness is an insoluble medical problem were marked as targets of psycho-correctional works during the study. The contribution of personal compliance, understood as the implicit willingness of the patient to be committed to treatment and to the achievement of satisfactory compliance, registered in the rehabilitation process, is studied. The expediency of drawing up individual programs of psychological rehabilitation on the basis of preventive diagnostics of compliance is shown, while the average level of the mentioned indicator is determined as optimal for the effectiveness of rehabilitation.

A review of literature data carried out on the most important aspects of epidemiology, risk factors and pathogenesis of metabolic syndrome (MS). Metabolic syndrome has been found in approximately one quarter of the world’s population, and, despite the large-scale treatment, preventive and health-improving promotion programs on a global scale, the number of persons with MS tends to increase annually, especially among young ablebodied age. There are many risk factors in its genesis, including genetic predisposition, low physical activity, poor diet, smoking, intestinal microbiota, obstructive sleep apnea syndrome and others, the role of most of which needs to be studied in more depth. Many criteria have been proposed for the diagnosis of MS, each of them has its own advantages and disadvantages. With MS, most organs and systems are affected, and with the combined involvement of the cardiovascular, endocrine, urinary, digestive and respiratory systems burdened clinical course of MS. In connection with the above, there is a reason for further scientific research to identify the causes and risk factors for the development of MS, development of preventive ways of prevention, preventive diagnostics and early treatment of MS. Keywords: metabolic syndrome, epidemiology, pathogenesis, diabetes mellitus, insulin resistance, obesity, hypercholesterolemia.
