This study aimed to analyze the implementation of evaluation in Science learning at 3rd grade in SD IT Asshodiqiyah Semarang. This study used the qualitative method and collected data through observation, interview and documentation. The data source of the study was the teacher, parents, and students. During the Covid-19 pandemic outbreak, SD IT Asshodiqiyah conducted learning through the WhatsApp platform. The result of the study obtained some findings as follows: (1) PBL-based learning evaluation was appropriate to implement in Science learning, (2) PBL-based evaluation was conducted according to the objectives of learning by following simple yet challenging learning stages for students to involve in active participation, (3) evaluation in Science learning were in portfolio-based model, practice-based model, and cognitive-based model by using WhatsApp platform and Google Form feature. Nevertheless, the authors found some obstacles in the implementation, such as the lack of parents' and student enthusiasm, the lack of parent understanding on how to implement the evaluation model, and the lack of cooperation between teacher and parents. The solution for the problem was that teachers and parents should have good communication and mutual agreement regarding the evaluation process.

In 1956, 22-year-old cadet journalist Eva Sommer won Australia’s first Walkley Award for a story about a supposedly stateless stowaway who was ‘doomed’ to sail between Italy and Australia because he had lost his memory. Sommer’s dedicated reporting skills revealed the man was a traumatized Holocaust survivor from Poland who had been granted asylum in Australia five years earlier. A ‘girl reporter’ had achieved in two days what immigration officials from two countries had failed to achieve in three months. Yet, despite Sommer’s remarkable story and her status as the inaugural Walkley winner, little is known of her writing or her life. This article aims to reinstate Eva Sommer to her rightful place in Australia’s journalism history through an analysis of how her three articles on the stowaway communicated emotions and virtues to readers. For the first time I will apply the Virtue Map, my analytical tool for examining the role of emotion and virtues in journalism, to a series of articles instead of a single long-form feature, illuminating a forgotten moment of Australia’s journalism history.

The language used in the context of the classroom is a language that has its own purpose from languages used in other contexts. The most basic main objective of using language in the classroom is the transfer of knowledge. In connection with the use of female teacher speech features in Indonesian language learning interactions in the classroom, female teachers have differences in language with male teachers. The use of language in gender is not only related to linguistic preferences, but also to psychological matters of speakers. Men are depicted as speaking more assertive, mature, and like to speak openly with correct vocabulary. In contrast to women's language that is not firm, is not openly and careful when expressing something, and often uses more subtle and polite words or through gestures. The purpose of this study is to describe the sentences of praise used to smooth commands and admonitions by utilizing the superpolite form feature in Indonesian language learning interactions. The type of research used in this research is descriptive research because it is carried out on several research subjects on a certain background, namely the praising event for smoothing orders and admonitions by utilizing the superpolite form feature in the context of Indonesian language learning interactions in class. This study aims to discuss the use of one of the features of women's language, namely the superpolite form feature in the speech function of praising female teachers in the interaction of Indonesian language learning in the classroom. There are two types of functions of praising utterances, namely (1) the function of smoothing commands and (2) the function of smoothing admonitions. The function of smoothing commands and smoothing reprimands as part of the praising utterances spoken by female teachers is dominated by markers of please, beg, and please.

AbstractDespite decades of neuroscience research, our understanding of the relationship between color and form processing in the primate ventral visual pathway remains incomplete. Using fMRI multivoxel pattern analysis, this study examined the coding of color with both a simple form feature (orientation) and a mid-level form feature (curvature) in human early visual areas V1 to V4, posterior and central color regions, and shape areas in ventral and lateral occipito-temporal cortex. With the exception of the central color region (which showed color but not form decoding), successful color and form decoding was found in all other regions examined, even for color and shape regions showing univariate sensitivity to one feature. That said, all regions exhibited significant feature decoding biases, with decoding from color and shape regions largely consistent with their univariate preferences. Color and form are thus represented in neither a completely distributed nor a completely modular manner, but a biased distributed manner. Interestingly, coding of one feature in a brain region was always tolerant to changes in the other feature, indicating relative independence of color and form coding throughout the ventral visual cortex. Although evidence for interactive coding of color and form also existed, the effect was weak and only existed for color and orientation conjunctions in early visual cortex. No evidence for interactive coding of color and curvature was found. The predominant relationship between color and form coding in the human brain appears to be one of anatomical coexistence (in a biased distributed manner), but representational independence.

The article focuses on the basic theoretical approaches to the analysis of complementary complexes in modern grammar paradigms. The phenomenon of clausal complementation has been presented. Subordinate sentences are characterized as object clausal complements with the status of a core internal argument of the main predicate. Grammatical configuration and functioning of finite/infinitive complementary sentences in English have been revealed. Grammatical status of clauses under the study is postulated as object predication or the internal verbal complement in the function of an object. Grammatical indicators of finite sentences are analyzed considering specific that/wh- markers of complementation, semantics of matrix verbs as well as temporal tense-form feature in a verbal phrase. Grammatical configuration of infinitive sentences is denoted by to-/wh-markers and noun phrases in a certain case. Identifying criteria of verbal clausal complements have been distinguished. Morphology of the predicate, internal/external syntax of a complementary construction are grounded as leading features of their definition. Typology of verbal complementation in terms of transitivity, complement attachment to the perculia part of speech, functional communicative approach has been reviewed. General monotransitive, complex-transitive and ditransitive complementation has been outlined. When being attached to a particular language constituent a clause is determined as nominal, adjective or verbal complement. Due to communicative peculiarity finite subordinate clauses are positioned as content declarative, interrogative and exclamative.
