Monitoring of congenital malformations and concomitant somatic diseases in children is one of the important indicators of the causal influence of environmental factors on the health of the population. From the moment of birth, a child with congenital cleft lip and palate differs significantly from healthy peers not only externally, but also morpho-functional features of the structure of the primary section of the digestive and respiratory systems and often has a greater number of previous diseases in the history. Purpose: To determine the structure and frequency of somatic morbidity in children with congenital cleft lip and palate in regions with petrochemical ecotoxicants. Materials and methods: During the study, 3463 children from birth to 16 years old with congenital cleft lip were treated and monitored at the Department of Maxillofacial Surgery at the Republican Children's Clinical Hospital, Ufa for the period from January 1, 1985 to December 31, 2019 and / or sky. The diagnosis of concomitant systemic pathology was recorded based on the findings of the district pediatricians, ENT doctor, gastroenterologist, immunologist, allergist, rheumatologist from outpatient and inpatient records of the examined patients. Conclusion. In the course of our study, a direct relationship was noted between the level of environmental pollution by ecotoxicants and the frequency of concomitant somatic diseases in children with congenital cleft lip and palate. This must be taken into account in the pre- and postoperative algorithm for the rehabilitation of children with congenital cleft lip and palate with the involvement of pediatricians to improve the general somatic state of children when planning reconstructive surgery.

Background: Presently, good obstetrics means an uncomplicated antenatal period, labour and puerperium for the mother and birth of a healthy body. Post caesarean section pregnancy has now become one of the most common high-risk cases tackled at any hospital. In this paper an attempt has been made to assess the outcomes of pregnancy in previous caesarean section. Methods: This study was conducted among patients in the department of gynecology and obstetrics at Al-Ameen Hospital from June 2016 to December 2018. For that purpose, a sample size of 100 was considered. Data were analyzed using SPSS software v. 23.0. and Microsoft office 2007.Results: The incidence of caesarean section was 10.25%. Anaemia, pregnancy-induced hypertension and diabetes mellitus found in this study is more coincidental. Placenta previa cases were also present. Cephalopelvic disproportion was the commonest indication of the previous section in this study. 20% of the cases have had their previous section due to cephalopelvic disproportion. 18% of the cases had delivered vaginally, 15 cases were delivered by forceps (72.2%) and 3 cases were delivered normally (27.8%). Maternal morbidity was found to be low and there was no maternal death. Conclusions: The patient whose primary section was done due to cephalopelvic disproportion should be assessed thoroughly in her current pregnancy before placing her to elective repeat section. As there is always the possibility of scar rupture in a case of post caesarean section pregnancy one must think twice before doing the primary section. More research is required to evaluate optimum time of management.

Investing in ECDE is one of the challenging cost-effective commitments that a government can undertake. Investing in quality ECDE can improve a child’s well-being and minimize educational and poverty gap. Teacher competence is an important tool towards the realization of holistic development of children. It is with this background that the researcher sought to study teacher competence on Learners’ promotion in Embu County integrated public primary schools, Kenya. The study adopted cross-sectional survey research design across a target population of 381 public primary schools, 381 head teachers, 3951 primary teachers and 380 ECD teachers in the five sub-counties. Stratified random sampling was used to select schools from the five sub-counties; simple random sampling was used to select public primary teachers and head teachers in five sub- counties. Questionnaires were utilized as the instruments of the study. Quantitative data collected was analyzed using SPSS software. Based on the results, the study found that most (73%) of the primary teachers are unable to handle ECD pupils transiting to primary section since they could not understand the content taught and teachers have inadequate experience for teaching ECDE class. The study also found that most (50%) of the head teachers do not avail curriculum support materials. The study recommends that the teacher training colleges should incorporate courses that equip teachers with skills to handle pupils transiting from ECD classes to primary section. The schools also should provide books to a pupil book ratio of 1:1 so as to execute the new competent based curriculum.
