Purpose Pakistan is predominantly a cash-based economy, with consumers showing several traits ranging from low confidence on the electronic commerce security, poor access to banking, absence of widespread awareness of e-payments and other religious and psychological barriers to adopting alternatives to cash. This study aims to examine e-payment modes in Pakistan with respect to their impact on supplier and consumer behaviour before and during the pandemic times. Design/methodology/approach The research follows a qualitative approach. Focus groups and interviews are conducted to carry out an in-depth analysis of consumer and supplier behaviour. Findings The findings show that customers are not satisfied with the current e-commerce system in Pakistan, whereas though producers prefer prepayments, they are forced to rely on cash on delivery. However, due to the recent COVID-19 outbreak, consumers are going cashless to avoid physical cash and observe safety protocols. To convert this temporary and enforced patronage of online transactions into a long-term and sustainable one, massive marketing and a combined effort from the government, private bodies and financial institutions is required. Research limitations/implications The study was conducted using online interviews which has the drawback of connection issues, delays and lags in the connectivity, and hence may lead to miss important gestures for data analysis. Originality/value This research can be of benefit to online consumers and the supplier side of the online retail industry, by providing them with insight into the various factors that affect consumer behaviour towards e-commerce payment options. An understanding of the behavioural motivators of consumers will allow e-retailers in developing more marketing strategies that are effective, to improve the satisfaction level of their customers and contribute to the development of Pakistan’s e-commerce sector into a globally competitive one.

Rapid development of e-commerce and mobile communication opens a new era of big data. In this article, the authors put big data and e-commerce security together. They construct electronic commerce security system from these aspects: the creation of database, the security of information storage, the mining of information based on big data environment thoroughly. The second-generation product distributed platform- Apache Hadoop which is more popular and instant has been brought in. what's more, this article expounds the structure and working process. On the base of this platform, this article analyses the certainty and security of e-commerce transactions data developed on the condition of big data. It puts forward a construction view that people should guide and monitor the behavior of e-commerce, and improve the security system of electronic commerce on the base of data.

Researchers have proposed several security protocols to protect the electronic commerce security in these years; however, not all of them are secure enough. This article extends model checking method with Casper/FDR2 to model and analyze a new electronic protocol. Attacks are found in the protocol and their mechanisms are discussed. A variety of solutions are given to different security flaws. The improved protocol is proven to be robust and secure.

Electronic commerce system is now developing at a huge speed, whose final objective is to electronize every phase of commercial activity. Electronic payment is the heart of electronic commerce. Along with electronic commerce development, electronic cash payment systems are also developing. How to achieve safe electronic transactions is the key to the development of electronic cash payment systems. There are two kinds of electronic cash system, on-line and off-line. As the security and effective electronic payment system has become an important part of electronic commerce, according to the new character of cloud computing, it can solve the problems that the electronic cash systems exist leakage of privacy, non-standard transactions and high cost in the traditional network. The paper describes the types of electronic payment and discusses the electronic cash payment safety based on cloud computing. The presented solution can reduce the hardware and software systems cost, particularly for the current electronic commerce security, with efficient and convenient interactive response to the trend.

with the popularity of electronic commerce, its security problem is more and more attention. E-commerce security is a core and the key problem of e-commerce development, the development of efficient and safe electronic commerce management system is very necessary. According to the electronic commerce security architecture, this paper studies and analyzes the network service layer, layer encryption technology, security authentication, transaction protocol layer, potential danger in business system and so on various layers and safety technology, according to the security of the encrypted data and the data transmission performance problems, applying the appropriate encryption algorithm to improve the security and speed of the system.

The appearance of cloud security system makes the spread of computer viruses possess some new features. The open environment in cloud computing is much more complex, and can not fully adapt to the new application of computer network such as cloud computing. Cloud computing offers the advanced capabilities of sharing, where the computing and storage capabilities are outsourced on demand, With the wide use of cloud computing services, tenants require higher and higher security assurance. Through the research and analyss of security in cloud computing, the design model of anti-spam electronic commerce security system based on cloud computing is presented, and the functional modules of the system are analyzed. Lastly, the construction model of anti-spam electronic commerce security system is advanced.
