The article presents the results of studies on the study of the effect of temperature in-versions on the efficiency of ventilation of a quarry space. It was found that a negative tem-perature difference leads to cooling of the surface air layers, which can cause the accumula-tion of cooled air masses in the lower part of the open pit and a decrease in the intensity of air exchange. It is shown that the assessment of the peculiarities of the formation of the pa-rameters of the mine atmosphere and the substantiation of the boundaries of the use of natu-ral ventilation of gold-ore quarries, taking into account the steady-state temperature gradi-ent, can be carried out using mathematical modeling based on the Ansys Fluent software package.

The results of the All-Russian survey on the social well-being of citizens in the con-text of the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic are presented. The baseline results were con-clusions about changes in Russians 'offline and online consumer behavior, social expecta-tions, fears and citizens' perception of universal vaccination as a measure to combat the COVID-19 pandemic. The study showed that three types of fears prevail among Russians: coronavirus infection of relatives and friends, their own illness when they do not receive the necessary medical care, and a drop in income (worsening living conditions) amid an uncon-trollably spreading pandemic. The analysis of the survey database showed the activation of digital behavior of citizens in the context of the pandemic, which became a favorable factor in the development of online retail. Against the background of the spread of the COVID-19 vi-rus, the age structure of the Russian national audience is changing, and the digital gap be-tween generations is gradually being bridged. The pandemic triggered the involvement of older people in the digital space. Cluster analysis of the research data made it possible to segment Russians into three groups in relation to the pandemic and measures to overcome it: covid-pessimists, who suffered the most from the restrictions of the corona virus and did not adapt to life under conditions of covid-restrictions; covid-optimists who have successfully adapted to new circumstances in connection with the spread of the COVID-19 virus; covid-realists focused on constructively overcoming the negative consequences of restrictive pandemic measures. Their socio-demographic and behavioral characteristics have been ana-lyzed, and the specificity of the civic position of representatives of various clusters of Rus-sians has been established.

The article presents the relevance of the problem, defines the research purpose: to compare the average life expectancy of the population in the areas of the Tula region with different contents of heavy metals in the class of causes of death “Respiratory diseases ”. The authors used the data of the regional mortality register, the results of analyzes of the content of heavy metals (copper, lead, zinc, nickel) in the soil by atomic absorption spectroscopy, and the calculation of the average life expectancy by the algebraic model of constructive logic. The results indicate a decrease in average life expectancy due to the presence of heavy metals in the soil, but the average life expectancy in both contaminated and non-contaminated areas is gradually increasing.

The features of the thermal regime of the surface air layer in the Debed river basin are considered. A statistical analysis of the average annual and average seasonal values of air temperature from 1964 to 2018 was carried out, two periods were identified, their time course was shown. The analysis was carried out using data from six meteorological stations representing the lowland, mountain and high-mountain climatic zones of the Debed river basin. A correlation was obtained between the absolute altitude and the monthly average values of air temperature for January and July, which can be used to assess the thermal conditions of unexplored or poorly studied territories and for cartography. The time course of average values of air temperatures for the seasonal period has been studied. Analysis of trend lines of temporal changes in air temperatures shows that in all situations on the territory of the basin as a whole, there is a tendency of temperature growth. Moreover, with a range of interannual fluctuations, a break in the course of temperatures in the early to mid 1990 is clearly visible, after which their significant increase began. It turned out that a significant increase in seasonal temperatures is observed especially over the period 1993-2018, which means that the annual warming after the mid 1990 occurred primarily due to summer and spring seasons. The regular dynamics indicates that in the studied area in terms of temperatures, a tendency of softening winters, a decrease in the water content of rivers, aridization of the climate. The results obtained can be used to assess the regularities of the spatial-temporal distribution of the temperature of the study area, to clarify the thermal balance, for the rational use of heat resources, as well as in the development of strategic programs for longterm analysis.

The paper presents the results of the study of the actual condition and service life of capital mine workings of the mine "Mnogovershinnoye". Typical forms of assessment of geo-logical conditions with subsequent estimation of the time of standing of the mine workings without support were established. The main types of supports and the character of their dis-turbance during the operation of workings have been determined with the subsequent sub-stantiation of the service life of mud-base concrete, metal arch and anchor supports under different conditions. On the basis of the commissioning date of capital mine workings at the mine "Mnogovershinnoe" a list of workings with the expired service life was made; there was stated the necessity of visual and instrumental examination of supports to assess their wear degree with the following repair-restoration works to maintain mine workings in the operable state.

The main directions of resource saving in the extraction of non-ferrous metals in Rus-sia are considered, the basis of which is the extraction of the useful component by leaching in underground blocks, piles and high-speed disintegrator mills. The current ideas about the problem are systematized and investigated, and a forecast of the use of resource-saving tech-nologies in the future is given.

The issues of reagent leaching of metals in stacks in a historical cut are considered. It is shown that more than 1/3 of the chipped ore in size does not meet the conditions for extract-ing metals from it and requires regrinding. The features of mills are considered and the ad-vantages of grinding in a high-speed mill - disintegrator are determined. The information on innovations in the optimization of grinding equipment, which can reduce the cost of production by 10…15 %, is given.

The analysis of the distribution of radionuclides in the products of blast furnace and steelmaking melting operation processes is carried out. It was shown that the blast furnace melting process is considerably affected by natural radionuclides whereas steelmaking furnace process - by technogenic ones. The main impact on the environment is exerted by the gas-dust fraction, which contaminates the surrounding soil, vegetation and ground water during the settling process. An additional dose of external irradiation of the population and personnel is created by slag and metal fractions. High radiation doses are possible in case of ingestion of high-intensity sources of 60Co and 137Cs into the melt. Internal irradiation of people occurs due to gas and dust emissions.
