The Relationship

It was shown that enhanced colonization of barley's roots by Fusarium culmorum in the presence of Pseudomonas fluorescens 2137 may be due to the composition of root exudates. Strain 2137 can enhance expression of plant defence gene PAL.

Endophytic bacteria were isolated from surface-sterilized aerial parts of pea. Taxonomic status of isolated strains was determined by sequencing of 16S rRNA gene. Moreover, genomes of growth-promoting endophytes were sequenced.

The presence of biogenic ferrihydrite nanoparticles at callusogenesis stage decreases the level of necrosis at proliferation stage. Ferrihydrite doesn`t influence on callus growth at the second stage, but decreases the percentage of samples with chlorophyll.

Durum wheat and rye hybrids were obtained using in vitro germ culture. The influence of the durum wheat genotype (♀) on the hybridization performance was revealed, which is due to the presence of genes that inhibit crossbreeding.

The principle of obtaining recombinant antimicrobial polypeptides from plant and microbial origins as a part of chimeric proteins with thioredoxin by heterologous expression in a prokaryotic system is presented. The results obtained in terms of their antifungal activity in relation to plant pathogenic micromycetes allow us to consider these compounds as prototypes of some active substances of environmentally friendly biofungicides, as well as possible components of hybrid plant protection products against fungal diseases.
