High-density polyethylene (HDPE)/silica composites with different silicon dioxide fraction were prepared by the melting blend method. The effects of silicon dioxide content on the thermal properties and mechanical properties were mainly investigated. The results show that the thermal degradation of the composites shifts towards higher temperatures as the concentration of silicon dioxide is increased. With increasing silica dioxide content, the tension yield strength of HDPE/silicon composites increased, but its breaking elongation decreased. When silicon dioxide content is 5 %, the tension yield strength and its breaking elongation are 29.33 MPa and 102.82 %, respectively.

The effects of silicon dioxide addition on the sintering, microstructure and microwave dielectric properties of Ca-Al-B-Si-O glass/Al2O3 composites were investigated. Results show that: Increasing the silicon dioxide content in the glass leads to the corresponding rise of bulk density, dielectric constant of the LTCC materials and the decrease of its dielectric loss and porosity. A bulk density of 2.92 g·cm-3, a porosity of 0.2%, aεr value of 7.11 and a tan δ value of 0.00096(measured at 10 MHz) are obtained for 68 wt% silicon dioxide of the samples sintered at 875°C for 30 min.

Abstract The paper presents the results of studies of the main parameters of synthesis of silicon dioxide powder from Balaklava deposit sludge with silicon dioxide content of 24%. During the study caustic soda solution is used as a leaching agent and sulfuric acid was used as a precipitant. At the leaching stage the concentration of leaching agent, the ratio of liquid phase to solid phase, the optimum temperature of leaching as well as the mode of pulp agitation are investigated. At the precipitation stage, the following parameters are considered: concentration of precipitating agent and temperature of the precipitation process. As a result of using the optimal parameters the high efficiency of obtaining silica powder of 98.56% is achieved. Average particle size is 200-800 nm, and agglomerate size is more than 800 nm.

Keragaan morfologi dan kandungan antosianin padi beras merah (Oryza sativa L.) pada Kecamatan Munte dan Kecamatan Payung di Kabupaten Karo. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendapatkan informasi morfologi dan kandungan antosianin padi beras merah (Oryza sativa L.). Penelitian ini dimulai dari Juni 2017dan selesai pada Januari 2018 di kecamatan Munte dan Kecamatan Payung Kabupaten Karo.Metode survei deskriptif menggunakan panduan International Rice Research Institute (IRRI). Teknik penentuan lokasi secara sengaja dan pengamblan sampel secara kebetulan.Uji kandungan antosianin menggunakan metode analitik dengan menghomogenkan sampel. Hasil eksplorasi didapatkan 72 genotipe yang dibagi menjadi tiga lokasi lahan. Berdasaran uji kandungan antosianin didapatkan lahan A memiliki kandungan tertinggi yaitu 0,5 mg/100 g dan terendah yaitu lahan B 0,08 mg/100 g.

Experiments were carried out to assess some insecticide modules against major insect pests of rice. Each module consists of a basal application of carbofuran 3G @ 1 kg a.i ha-1 at 20 DAT and Rynaxypyr 20 SC @ 30 g a.i ha-1 at 45 DAT except untreated control. All modules differ with each other only in third treatment which was applied in 65 DAT. The third treatment includes: Imidacloprid 17.8 SL @ 27 g a.i ha-1, Pymetrozine 50 WG @ 150 g a.i ha-1, Triflumezopyrim 106 SC @ 27 g a.i ha-1, Buprofezin 25 SC @ 250 g a.i ha-1; Glamore (Imidacloprid 40+Ethiprole 40% w/w) 80 WG @ 100 g a.i. ha-1, Thiacloprid 24 SC @ 60 g a.i ha-1, Azadirachtin 0.03 EC @ 8 g a.i ha-1, Dinotefuran 20 SG@ 40 g a.i ha-1 and untreated control. All the treated plots recorded significantly lower percent of dead heart, white ear- head caused by stem borer and silver shoot caused by gall midge. Module with Pymetrozine 50 WG @ 150 g a.i ha-1 treated plot recorded significantly higher per cent reduction of plant hoppers (>80% over untreated control) and produced higher grain yield (50.75 qha-1) than the other modules. Among the different treated modules the maximum number of spiders was found in Azadirachtin 0.03 EC @ 8 g a.i ha-1 treated module plot followed by other treatments.
